'There's no greater prize than Man United' says Yeovil boss


Gary Johnson says there is "no prize greater" than an FA Cup home tie with Manchester United.

The League One side defeated Accrington Stanley 2-0 in Tuesday’s Second Round Replay, earning a glamorous home tie with the Premier League giants on Sunday 4 January live on BT Sport.

After seeing Simon Gillett and Kieffer Moore fire his side to victory, Glovers boss Johnson said: "I know Accrington are a league lower and everyone will say we didn't do it convincingly enough, but that won't matter when Man United run out on the Huish Park pitch."

United have met Yeovil once before in the competition back in 1949, with the Red Devils winning 8-0 at Maine Road, and Johnson is delighted to have secured a home tie against the 11-time winners.

"I'm always so proud of the club when we come through a game like this," he told BBC Somerset.

"I knew what this meant to the club, me, my family, our directors, supporters and my management team.

"There was no prize greater than this one. And now we've got the game against probably the world's biggest team. That's the one to look forward to now."

And with his side sitting 21st in League One after suffering relegation from the Championship last season with one of the smallest budgets, Johnson explained how important the money his side earn from their Cup run will be.

They will receive £27,000 for last night’s win and £144,000 from their televised game with United – and Johnson says it is vital.

"I didn't want to use the word massive for finances but it is for a club like us. You can't sell a player for a quarter of a million, or half a million, so you have to get it in other ways.

"If the FA Cup draw is good to you, then it's the only other way of getting it. We've got it and I'm sure the directors will be smiling. They've got what they were praying for."

Sepertinya bakal ada rotasi pemaen. DDG bisa jadi istirahat digantikan Lindegaard. Salah satu CB junior Mcnair dan Blackett bisa jadi main. Wilson juga kemungkinan bakal main. Syukur2 klo Pereira bisa dapet menit bermain.

Alasan LVG memakai taktik 3-5-2 karena adanya WB dan bukan FB seharusnya udah hilang dengan cederanya Young Valencia. Jadi menunggu pilihan taktik LVG... apakah memaksakan FB menjadi WB atau merubah taktik untuk menyesuaikan dengan stok pemaen.

Btw, jamnya kok nggak bersahabat. Kick off jam 22.30, selesai jam 00.30. Ditambah komen2 di forum +/- 1 jam. Baru tidur jam 01.30. Bangun lagi jam 04.00. Bisa2 meriang kayaknya bakal ngerekam pertandingannya buat ditonton sambil kerja.

Setelah "pengalaman" buruk 4-0 di MK Dons, lanjut performa draw2 di tiga dari empat laga ...

Sekali- kali balik ke 4-1-4-1 boleh juga dengan tempatkan Carrick sebagai DMF walau lawannya sekelas Yeovil, belajar dari pengalaman MK Dons tentunya untuk tidak anggap remeh lawan. Biar nanti Januzaj juga bisa main, pemanasan buat Di Maria sebelum lawan Soton juga, plus Jesse Lingard ikut dimainkan disana.

Atau skema yang sebenarnya dipopulerkan LvG semasa di Jerman, 4-2-3-1 dengan Carrick & Herrera sebagai double pivot.

Istirahatkan RvP dan Mata boleh-lah, Rooney sebagai pengganti juga bolehlah. Evans juga takutnya blunder lagi.

Di League 1, MK Dons masih masuk 4 besar. Yeovil Town sendiri saat ini ada diposisi 24 klasmen aka yang paling akhir. Tanggal 30 Des kemarin kalah 0-3 dari Leyton Orient. Di atas kertas unggul jauh, emm gak tau nanti dilapangan kaya gimana.

Scene-setter: After early Capital One Cup disappointment against MK Dons in August, Louis van Gaal will be eager for his revitalised Reds to atone for that elimination with FA Cup progression. On an unbeaten run stretching back to the first week of November, United will be confident of coming away from Somerset with a positive result.

Form guide: While United's stalemate at Stoke on New Year's Day extended the current unbeaten run to 10 matches, it also saw the Reds record a third away draw in a row - a statistic that this weekend's opponents may draw encouragement from. Relegation from their first-ever Championship campaign in 2013/14 saw Yeovil return to League One, where they currently lie at the bottom of the table with 20 points from 23 games. The Glovers head into the tie having lost their last three matches.

Team news: After Ashley Young was withdrawn from the action at the Britannia Stadium with a hamstring issue, the wide-man is now a confirmed absentee for this clash. Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling started against Stoke, while Adnan Januzaj and Ander Herrera could be in contention for places in van Gaal's line-up after making substitute appearances against the Potters. Angel Di Maria is pushing for a return, but Sunday's match may come too early. Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini remain doubts for the tie, while Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind appear unlikely to feature. Yeovil are saddled with some injury problems of their own, as they've had to cope without Kevin Dawson, Kieffer Moore and Joel Grant in recent weeks. The trio remain doubtful to participate this weekend.
