Default Re: Paul Labile Pogba

Paul Pogba will come up trumps in game of Manchester United Patience

Manchester United rebel Paul Pogba the grass is rarely greener on the other side. It may be an English proverb but the former Reds treble-winner hopes the Frenchman gets his drift. The teenage Parisian appeared to be on the verge of blowing his United future last month for quick riches in Italy. Reports suggested the 2011 Youth Cup-winner’s agent had set up a lucrative move to Juventus in the summer after snubbing a new Reds contract.

Sir Alex Ferguson was believed to be so outraged by the midfielder’s behaviour that the player, only promoted to regular first-team work this season, was banished to train on his own. A potential Europa League appearance against Ajax at Old Trafford went begging as part of the punishment. But, out of the blue, Pogba was reinstated as a sub and came on against West Brom and has since appeared twice more from the bench – against Athletic Bilbao and Wolves. It points to a welcome re-think by the player signed from Le Havre in 2009 – and a reconciliation that could avoid Pogba following Ravel Morrison out of the club following the pair’s Youth Cup success of last May. Gorton-born Butt was himself a winner of the prestigious trophy 20 years ago, winning his senior debut months later.

Manchester United will win title - Nemanja Vidic Manchester United striker targets in focus Though it was only two decades ago, it is another era now in terms of player patience. However, Butt hopes Pogba’s re-emergence on the first-team scene in the last fortnight points to a bright future at United for him. “Times have changed and young players get a lot of outside advice nowadays and you have to accept the way it is,” Nicky told M.E.N. Sport. “We didn’t get much of a choice in those days – it was take it or leave it! We didn’t really have anyone looking after us apart from an accountant.

David Beckham was one of the first to get an agent because of all the off-field work he was doing. “But we got looked after by the club. They were always very fair. But it is different now and players have advisers going into bat for them and promising this and that. “Sir Alex Ferguson said recently that he recalls Sir Matt Busby saying that United players don’t need to chase money because it will find them. “It is very true. If you play for any length of time at Old Trafford then you will be financially secure for life. You don’t want for anything. “And in terms of the football, there is no better place to do it.

It is a great career at United. Paul Pogba only has to look at the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs to see what he can achieve. You cannot ignore those examples.” The lure of the riches and more regular first-team match-time than Pogba might get in the Premier League with United, seemed to have initially swayed the young Frenchman. “It is easy to get your head turned,” added Butt. “Pogba was built up as the next big thing. He’s had comparisons with a great player like Patrick Vieira. That can go to your head easily.

“Because of all that he might think he should be in United’s first team now. There were some midfield difficulties before Scholesy came out of retirement and he may have thought he could answer them. “When you are a kid you have no fear and you think you can take on the world. There is nothing wrong with that in a lot of ways. In fact, the manager would like that confidence. But Sir Alex knows all the pitfalls. He’s nurtured us all through it. “He is very protective and sees things the player doesn’t at that age. “You might feel you are ready and should be in there but if you are thrown in then too many pitfalls can kill your confidence. “Pogba could go to Italy and they might throw him in the deep end and it could destroy him. “He looks physically strong but playing full-on twice a week for Manchester United is demanding on your body and even more so mentally.

Nobody knows how to deal with that better than the boss.” Despite a showdown with Ferguson, Butt says Pogba won’t have the stand-off held against him. “We all make mistakes. I made plenty,” he added. “But the good thing about the manager is that he’ll have a right go and make you feel about an inch tall but once he has got his message across and got it off his chest, it is forgotten. “He won’t discard you. If what has gone on recently with Pogba is true then that proves it. He’s back in the fold and I think the signs are good. “I hope he does stay. He has a long way to go but he does look a good player.”

Fergie considering drawing a line under contract battle with rebel Pogba

Sir Alex Ferguson is growing increasingly exasperated with Paul Pogba’s refusal to sign a new contract at Manchester United.
The French midfielder, 19, is rated as one of the brightest prospects at Old Trafford, but Ferguson has so far failed to convince him to commit to the club beyond the end of the season, as Juventus hover with the offer of a four-year deal worth £20,000 a week.
The United boss has tried both the carrot and the stick to persuade Pogba to sign in recent weeks, calling him up to the first-team squad and then making him train with the reserves.

After the France Under 19 international played for more than half an hour at Wolves, Ferguson indicated that he would be involved against Fulham last week.
Instead, Pogba was left out of the squad and made to play for the reserves against Everton after rejecting another request from his manager to sign the new contract.
He was then included on the club’s weekend break at St Andrews before returning to the bench at Blackburn on Monday night as Ferguson once again tried to win the teenager over.

A few weeks ago it looked certain that Pogba would join Juventus, with his agent Mino Raiola set to pocket £1.7million commission — in contrast to United who would receive only around £300,000 in compensation.
However, Pogba is said to be reconsidering his position and will keep his options open for now. Juve are still favourites to sign him if he leaves Old Trafford, but Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have also expressed interest.

Meanwhile, as United look to move eight points clear of faltering City with victory at home to QPR on Sunday, Ferguson believes that his players’ title pedigree is beginning to tell.
‘It’s down to experience,’ said Ferguson. ‘It never fazes them and they can handle it.’

Paul Pogba in talks with Manchester United despite Juventus interest
• Midfielder set to make decision on where his future lies
• Agent Mino Raiola denies 'firm' offer from Juventus

Manchester United are not pressuring Paul Pogba to make a quick decision regarding his future. The midfielder is deciding whether to swap Old Trafford for Juventus, although the Italian club have made no "firm" offer, according to Mino Raiola, his agent.

Raiola was in Manchester on Thursday for talks with United who are keen for the 19-year-old to sign a new deal when his contract expires in the summer. Pogba is also interesting Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Internazionale and Milan.

Raiola said: "We are talking to Manchester United [and] we know there is the interest of Juventus. I had a very good meeting with the club – several, yesterday also. It's obviously not my decision, it's the player's and that's it. It was absolutely a good meeting with Manchester United, yes."

Will Pogba wait until the end of the season to take the decision? "No, I think he'll make the decision when his heart and head is ready to make the decision and there is no date fixed on that," said Raiola, who added that United have not told the player they require a decision by July for the new pre-season. "Manchester United is behaving like a true gentleman's club, giving the boy all the space to decide. They know it is a difficult decision and [he is] a young boy. So it doesn't make any sense and wouldn't be right to pressure."

Pogba's wage demands have led to the impasse, with the midfielder wanting a deal in the region of £15,000 to £20,000 per week, although Raiola denied Juventus have made a firm offer. "No. Let me tell you it's not true," he said. "Now, we didn't have negotiations yet with Juventus because we think first the boy has to decide what he wants to do. It doesn't make sense to go around saying this or that. You make a decision and then you sit down and you come to a deal.

"Paul has to decide for himself what he wants to do. Manchester United is a fantastic club, I think it's one of the best, if not the best in the world, for various reasons. And it's very difficult for a boy who has an opportunity to go to clubs to leave a big club as Manchester United, or to leave the interest of other clubs. I know that is difficult and a very hard [decision] to make and it can be career deciding, because you make a decision now and you only know when you're 35 if you make the right decision."

Raiola would not be drawn on what Pogba believes are the advantages of staying with United or joining Juventus. "I don't think that's an answer that I have to provide. This is something within him and he has his own decision to make and his own criteria," he added.

Default Juventus Give Pogba Ultimatum

Juventus give Pogba an ultimatum to make decision on summer move

The Serie A side have grown tired of waiting for the 19-year-old to decide on a move to Italy, and have told the midfielder he has until the end of the month to make up his mind

Juventus remain keen to sign Paul Pogba this summer, but the Old Lady are running out of patience and want the Manchester United youngster to make a decision on his future before the end of April, Goal.com can reveal.

The 19-year-old has an expiring contract at the Premier League side, and the Frenchman has so far been hesitant to sign a new deal with the Old Trafford club.

Juventus are closely monitoring Pogba's situation at United and are keen to lure the youngster to Turin this summer on a Bosman move. The Bianconeri are willing to offer the midfielder a five-year deal worth €500,000 per season plus bonuses.

Nevertheless, Pogba is having doubts about whether a move to Italy will benefit his career, and has been delaying his final decision.

The Bianconeri are now starting to lose their patience, though, and have told the midfielder that they want an answer by the end of the month.

Pogba is just one of many names linked with a move to the Bianconeri this summer as the club looks to compete on three fronts next season.

United atau Juve, Pogba?
Rossi Finza Noor - detikSport

"Paul belum menyetujui perjanjian apa-apa. Dia punya pilihan di antara United dan Juventus, tapi saya pikir dia akan segera menjatuhkan pilihannya segera," bantah agen Pogba, Mino Raiola, kepada TalkSport.

Musim ini, Pogba tampil sebanyak tujuh kali untuk The Red Devils, di mana tiga penampilan di antaranya adalah di Premier League.
