Tundukkan QPR, UNITED Kini Unggul 15 Poin dari City



London - Manchester United terus melaju dalam jalur positif menuju takhta juara Liga Primer Inggris berkat kemenangan 2-0 ketika melawat ke markas Queens Park Rangers.

Di Loftus Road, Sabtu (23/2/2013) malam WIB, Rafael membuat 'Setan Merah' memimpin ketika laga memasuki menit 23. Ryan Giggs kemudian memantapkan keunggulan MU lewat golnya di menit ke-80.

Hasil itu membuat MU kian meninggalkan Manchester City yang menjadi pengejar terdekatnya. Dari 27 laga, MU kini memuncaki klasemen dengan 68 poin, unggul 15 angka dari City. Sementara 'The Citizens', si juara bertahan, baru akan melakoni laga pekan ke-27 dengan menjamu Chelsea, Minggu (24/2) besok.

MU mendapatkan tendangan bebas di sisi kiri pada menit 12. Ashley Young menyepak bola untuk disundul Nani yang terkawal di kotak penalti, meski arah bola belum tepat sasaran.

Adel Taarabt melepaskan tembakan spekulasi dari luar kotak penalti MU pada menit 15, meski bola belum menyulitkan David De Gea karena belum tepat ke gawangnya.

Dengan membelakangi gawang, Javier Herhandez berhasil menanduk bola di kotak penalti QPR pada menit 16. Bola melambung tajam, meski Julio Cesar kemudian bisa menepis bola ke atas mistar.

Bola dari Cesar ke bek QPR bisa dicuri Nani yang lantas mengirim umpan silang ke depang gawang. Tetapi peluang di menit ke-19 itu gagal dimanfaatkan Hernandez meski sudah berusaha meregangkan kaki untuk menjangkau si kulit bundar.

MU memimpin di menit ke-23. Dikawal dua pemain lawan, Robin van Persie masih bisa melepaskan tembakan dari sudut sempit kendati Cesar juga masih mampu menepis bola.

Si kulit bundar lalu menjauhi gawang QPR dan meluncur keluar dari kotak penalti, tetapi Rafael dengan sigap melakukan rebound lewat tembakan keras yang berbuah gol.

Di garis gawang, Rafael menyapu sundulan Christopher Samba menyusul tendangan penjuru untuk QPR. Dengan cepat bola sudah ada di lini depan, dengan van Persie lalu menguji Cesar yang bisa mementahkan tembakannya dari jarak dekat di menit ke-37.

Young melepaskan umpan silang dari kiri pada menit 47. Nani menyambutnya dengan sundulan, kendati arah bola tepat ke Cesar. Sempat melepaskan bola dan membuat Ryan Giggs langsung mendekat, Cesar kemudian bisa benar-benar mengamankan bola dalam pelukannya.

Loic Remy yang baru masuk beberapa menit sebelumnya langsung mengancam gawang MU di menit ke-64. Tapi De Gea dengan sigap menepis si kulit bundar yang melaju kencang ke gawangnya.

Dari sebuah serangan balik MU pada menit 78, Danny Welbeck menerima operan bola Wayne Rooney. Welbeck lalu mendapatkan jalur tembak menuju gawang, tapi bola sepakannya masih bisa diblok Jermaine Jenas.

MU menambah keunggulan di menit ke-80 melalui Giggs. Nani mengirim umpan jitu dan Giggs yang lolos dari jebakan offside kemudian sukses mengirim bola melewati hadangan Cesar.

Dua menit kemudian Giggs nyaris mencetak gol kedua. Usahanya melambungkan bola masih membuat si kulit bundar menghantam mistar gawang QPR. Nani coba melakukan rebound, tapi bola hasil sepakannya masih melambung tinggi.

David De Gea - 7.5

The Spaniard kept his third consecutive clean sheet after a neat afternoon of work against a physical QPR side. De Gea wasn't really tested in the first half but reacted well when called upon later on.

Rafael Da Silva - 8.5

Rafael had an excellent all-round game and deserved to be named Man of the Match after his sweet strike that opened the scoring which is surely a candidate for Goal of the Season. He was solid at the back, helping to clear off a goal-bound header and immediately sent a sublime cross-field 60 yard pass to Van Persie on the counter attack. Probably the most improved United player this season.

Rio Ferdinand - 7

Ferdinand looked assured at the back and was there to sweep up the little threat posed by QPR's blunt attack.

Nemanja Vidic - 7.5

Vidic deserves praise after a whole match of aerial battles against the colossal Samba. The Serbian was outsized but he was certainly not outmatched in terms of determination and managed to put Samba off from winning more headers.

Patrice Evra - 7

Evra had little to do defensively, partly due to Townsend's ineffectiveness. Evra contributed well to the United attack and was part of the build up that led to Giggs' goal.

Nani - 8

Nani did his future prospects at United no harm with a tidy display which was not plagued by his usual showboating and horrid crosses. He looked confident on the ball and was more willing to play the short passing game, and improvement from the frustrating ineffective Nani that fans came to hate. He set up Giggs' goal with a smart turn-and-pass move.

Ryan Giggs - 8

It's hard to think how much more Giggs can contribute to United. The veteran midfielder was energetic from the start and won tackles that helped United launch counter attacks, including the one that led to Rafael's goal. He also picked up a goal for himself with a calm finish after his tireless running behind QPR's lines paid off.

Michael Carrick - 7.5

Carrick was literally bullied in midfield by QPR's plans to stop United from playing football but he adapted well as the game got on, pinging passes away before opponents could get near him.

Ashley Young (Off 66') - 5.5

Young had many chances to prove himself with chances down the flank but his delivery was disappointing and more often than not found a QPR player.

Javier Hernandez (Off 61') - 7

Hernandez would surely be frustrated with a goalless outing but he showed promise in terms of his play outside the box, frequently dragging Hill out of position.

Robin van Persie (Off 41') - 7

Van Persie's running behind QPR's defensive line was a constant source of trouble for them and it paid off as it led to Rafael's goal. He was brought off early after suffering a hip injury apparently caused by colliding with a camera.

Substitutes
Danny Welbeck (On 41') - 6

Welbeck looked bereft of confidence on the ball. He did well to get into good positions but frequently took too many touches to steady himself where a first-time shot would probably result in a goal.

Wayne Rooney (On 61') - 6.5

Rooney came on late for Hernandez despite not being reported as not fully fit for the match. He clearly wasn't at his sharpest but the run out would be encouraging for fans hoping to see him in action against Real Madrid at Old Trafford.

Antonio Valencia (Off 66') - 6.5

Valencia came on and slotted in on the right to press QPR further back but didn't contribute anything significant to the game.
