Re: who is he: Luke Shaw
Manchester United are NOT over spending on Luke Shaw According to multiple news outlets Southampton’s 18 year old left back Luke Shaw is set to become Manchester United second signing of the Transfer Window with a medical scheduled for today. The transfer fee is reported to be around £30 million with United offering the youngster £100,000 per week. Along with excitement amongst a large number of fans regarding the signing there are a huge number of United fans and rival fans criticizing the deal claiming that United are paying too much for a player who is “UNPROVEN” and has had “ONE GOOD SEASON”. Chelsea fans seem to be the most critical about the signing but are their claims really justified? Chelsea are reported to be signing Diego Costa a 25 year old striker who has scored more than 10 league goals just once in his career for £32m and paying him considerably higher wages. But that’s a story for another day. It’s understandable to see rival fans criticizing our signings but it is the criticism by United Fans which I personally fail to understand. It’s us United fans that need to be open minded about this signing, considering our past successes with these kind of deals. Yes, spending £30 million for an 18 year old is a risk but it is a risk worth taking in this case. Luke Shaw had a brilliant 2013/2014 campaign earning him a call up to the England world cup squad. He was ever present in the Southampton defense and was one of their best players through out the season. An accomplished crosser of the ball and a player who is not afraid to take players on going forward, most importantly he does not have a tendency to neglect his defensive duties. At 18 years old he is not the finished article but anyone who saw Luke Shaw play regularly last season would have seen the potential in him after he eased through last season with a maturity beyond his age. This is the main reason why United are paying big money for him. Under the right guidance Luke Shaw undoubtedly has the potential to become a world class Left Back. Even without considering his potential to improve Luke Shaw has already shown that he has what it takes to make an instant impact in any premier league side. Premier League clubs are required to include at least 8 players classified as home-grown in their 25 man squads must. Talented English players are exactly not lying around everywhere you look. United may not be in pressure to maintain those numbers currently but investing in homegrown English players is never going to be a bad idea. We wouldn’t want to end up like City having to buy players like Scott Sinclair to make up the numbers. Investing on Young homegrown prospects such as Luke Shaw sounds like a much better option doesn’t it ? United are undoubtedly signing Luke Shaw with a long term plan for the player. In 2004 Manchester United signed one of England’s top talents for £25.6 million. An 18 year old Wayne Rooney, 10 years and 307 appearances later Rooney is one of Manchester United’s most important players. The situation is almost the same with Luke Shaw. United are signing a brilliant young player who can contribute to the team for a long time to come. I am not suggesting that he is the same level of player as Rooney was when he joined United but Luke Shaw’s current quality and his potential is there to be seen for anyone who had watched him play on a regular basis last season. Spending £30 million for an 18 year old who has the potential to make the left back position his own for many years to come is really not overspending is it ? http://unitedramble.com/manchester-u...ce=twitterfeed |

Klo kualitasnya emang top kenapa nggak. Selain itu gaji mahal buat ngerayu biar si Shaw tertarik ke United, secara udah rahasia umum klo dia fans berat Chelsea. Ketiga, nggak tau ah gimana masa depan. toh blom pasti pindah juga. janu dan lingard juga nggak tau sebagus apa ntar. yang pasti pemaen asli inggris emang mahal. jadi nggak heran klo nilai2nya bikin sakit mata. |

I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the world-class players and management at the club." Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs said: "Luke is a very talented young left-back with great potential.
