O’Shea: Didn’t have much opposition so a comfortable outing and a well steered in goal 6

Ferdinand: Didn’t let his derby clanger affect him back to more like old self 7

Vidic: Only one striker to deal with and he played his part in mopping up limited threat 7

Evra: Right winger Lawrence was Stoke’s liveliest player and that was dealt with well 6

Valencia: Bad eighth minute one-on-one miss and never seemed to get over it 5

Fletcher: Great ball to Giggs to set up goal and a busy partner to Scholes 7

Scholes: Bossed the midfield completely. His persistence meant United stayed on top 9

Nani: One decent shot was a poor return for amount of ball he saw. 5

Rooney: Came very deep at times to get involved 6

Berbatov: Hadn’t been able to make much headway until he walked the goal in 6
