Re: [2017/18] UCL Matches
Manchester United fans left furious as Sevilla charge up to £133 for tickets to Champions League last 16 clash
* Manchester United have been allocated 2,650 seats at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan * Majority cost £89 with around 200 seats priced at an 'exorbitant' £133 * Liverpool supporters were charged £54 at the same venue last month Manchester United fans have hit out after it emerged that Sevilla are charging a staggering £133 for tickets for February's Champions League clash in Spain. The move has sparked outrage, with many taking to social media to brand the Spanish club 'a disgrace'. United have been allocated 2,650 seats for the match at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, which have been split into two price groups. The majority cost an eye-watering £89 and the second, which consists of 200 seats, are a scarcely-believable £133. Some United fans claimed that they had paid less for a flight to Seville than what they are now faced with handing over for a ticket for the round of 16 away leg. Others called on Old Trafford officials to intervene and send their supporters a helping hand. Duncan Drasdo, chief executive of the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) labelled the prices 'exorbitant'. Manchester United travel to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to play Sevilla in February. United fans will be charged as much as £133 for tickets for their last 16 game in Seville He added: 'It is too early to know whether we can change this but we are already in contact with both Manchester United and Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and will be lobbying UEFA and other bodies who may be able to influence this exploitative pricing.' United's travel partners, Thomas Cook Sport, are charging £279 for a day trip to see the match and £399 for an overnight stay. Liverpool supporters were charged £54 when Jurgen Klopp's team travelled to the same venue last month. A number of fans of the Merseyside club alleged that they were mistreated by Spanish police, with some allegedly assaulted and denied entry to the stadium for the 3-3 draw. Supporters of Leicester City, who paid £51, reported similar treatment at the hands of the local constabulary when they visited the city for a Champions League tie in February. United are aware of the situation and are looking into it. They came under fire themselves earlier this month when it emerged they were charging Derby County supporters £45 for next month's FA Cup third-round tie while many Premier League clubs are charging £10. Sevilla were yet to respond when contacted for comment. Code:

Re: [2017/18] UCL Matches
Manchester United in talks with Sevilla in bid to reduce astronomical ticket prices for Champions League fixture
* Manchester United want Sevilla to reduce tickets for their travelling supporters * The Spanish club plan to charge £89 and £133 for their Champions League tie * The ticket prices were branded ‘exorbitant’ by fan group chief Duncan Drasdo * Manchester United fear setting a precedent if they subside the cost themselves Manchester United have entered into discussions with Sevilla in a bid to bring down the astronomical price of tickets for their Champions League clash next month. The Spanish side sparked outrage when it emerged that they planned to charge United supporters £89 and £133 for the last-16 fixture. It is understood that while United are reluctant to subsidise the cost of the tickets, as they do not want to set a precedent and give opposition clubs a licence to up prices in future, they have opened dialogue with officials at the La Liga side. United will email supporters who have been successful in the ballot for the 2,650 tickets on Tuesday afternoon. The message will tell them that they have been charged the full admission price but also adds that work is ongoing to reduce that figure. Any subsequent discount will be passed on. Manchester United want Sevilla to reduce ticket prices for their Champions League tie. Manchester United fans currently face paying £89 and £133 to attend the last-16 fixture at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, a price that has been described as 'exorbitant' The staggering prices were branded ‘exorbitant’ by Duncan Drasdo, chief executive of the Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST). He added: 'It is too early to know whether we can change this but we are already in contact with both Manchester United and Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and will be lobbying UEFA and other bodies who may be able to influence this exploitative pricing.' As revealed by Sportsmail, United will also seek advice from Liverpool ahead of the February 21 fixture. Fans of the Merseyside club claimed they were mistreated by Spanish police, with some allegedly assaulted and denied entry to the stadium for a 3-3 draw with Sevilla in November. Anfield officials collated a number of complaints, which have been passed to FSE, who are compiling a dossier of incidents involving fans of foreign clubs at Spanish grounds. That dossier is set to be handed to the Council of Europe in the coming weeks. Liverpool supporters were charged £54 for tickets – a price Sevilla officials have claimed was reduced, while last season, Leicester City fans travelling to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, were charged £51.
