PREVIEW : MANCHESTER UNITED V TOTTENHAM

How are we shaping up? Following four successive away games in three different competitions, the Reds return to Old Trafford for the first time since beating Crystal Palace 4-0 on 30 September, hoping to maintain the 100 per cent home record so far this season. Jose Mourinho's charges should be confident going into the game, after continuing the defence of the Carabao Cup by seeing off Swansea City 2-0 on Tuesday night. That was the perfect response to last weekend’s surprise defeat at Huddersfield Town, which ended the Reds' impressive 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

What's the team news? The boss confirmed after the cup win at Swansea that Phil Jones has declared himself available for the game, having been withdrawn at Huddersfield through injury last Saturday, while fellow defenders Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo are thought to be close to returning to full fitness. However, there is no further news yet on midfielders Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini, although Mourinho could give a further update on the current injury situation in his pre-match press conference on Friday. Meanwhile, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele could feature for Spurs after returning from injury in their Carabao Cup defeat at home to West Ham United, but midfielders Erik Lamela and Victor Wanyama are expected to be sidelined once again. It was also confirmed by Spurs on Friday that Harry Kane has a minor hamstring strain, which rules him out of Saturday's game.

How are Tottenham doing? Spurs have been enjoying a good run of form lately, recording their fourth successive league win by swatting aside Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley last Sunday on the back of an impressive performance in a 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Pochettino's men had lost just once in 13 games in all competitions this season before suffering the disappointment of going out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at home to London rivals West Ham. Despite that, Tottenham have been performing well at both ends of the pitch. They have scored an impressive 19 goals in their opening nine matches, and have been typically solid at the back, with the second best defensive record in the league, having conceded just six goals so far.

What's our record like against them? Historically, the Reds have a strong record against the north London club, registering 87 wins and 49 draws in 186 previous meetings in all competitions stretching back as far as 1899. In more recent times, United have won 32 of the teams’ 50 Premier League encounters, including the last three in a row at Old Trafford. Spurs have managed just seven wins and have held the Reds to 11 draws. Both home teams emerged victorious last season, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first Premier League goal earning Jose Mourinho's men a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford before United were beaten 2-1 in the final game played at White Hart Lane in May.

Clean sheet kings… Saturday’s game brings together the two goalkeepers with the most shut-outs in the Premier League so far this season. David De Gea leads the way with seven clean sheets so far, having conceded just four goals thus far in the away games at Stoke and Huddersfield, while Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris has kept the opposition at bay on five occasions in the league but he has only one previous clean sheet against the Reds to his name – in a goalless draw at White Hart Lane in 2014.

Who is the referee? Jon Moss will take charge of his second United match of the season after handling the Reds’ 4-0 Premier League win at Swansea City back in August. The West Yorkshire official, who will also oversee his fourth league game involving United and Spurs, will be assisted by Simon Bennett and Andy Halliday, with Stuart Attwell on fourth official duties.

UNITED V TOTTENHAM : LATEST INJURY UPDATE

Jose Mourinho has suggested Eric Bailly could possibly return in Manchester United’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Ivory Coast international has not featured for the Reds since the 4-1 win at CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League on 27 September, but he was positively pictured taking part in Thursday's training session.

When speaking to MUTV at the Aon Training Complex on Friday, Mourinho was asked for an injury update. He replied: “Nobody is back. Jones was on the bench the other day and is okay. Bailly is a possibility.”

The boss added: "I think we are fine, I think we are strong and I think we are ready.”

Mourinho was also reluctant to talk about Tottenham Hotspur being without their star player Harry Kane because, as he was keen to point out, United are also missing several key men due to injuries.

“We have no Zlatan Ibrahimovic, no Paul Pogba, no Marouane Fellaini, no Marcos Rojo, no Michael Carrick, so don’t speak to me about Harry Kane.”

Asked about the quality of Saturday's opposition, the boss said: “They are a very good team, one of the best in the league. They have a fantastic squad, a good manager, stability and years with the same manager, the same players. They are a really, really, really good team.”

The United manager also called on the Old Trafford crowd to play their part in the game. “I think we had some very good atmospheres last season at home when we played against the big teams.

"I can remember really good atmospheres against Chelsea and Liverpool, so if the supporters want then they can make it really good and positive for us.”

DE GEA : FIRST GOAL COULD BE CRUCIAL

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has emphasised the importance of scoring the first goal when the Reds host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s men go into the crunch Premier League clash on the back of a fine 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Swansea City on Tuesday night, in which Jesse Lingard netted twice.

De Gea was rested for that game but he has been in exemplary form between the sticks this term, keeping 11 clean sheets in 15 games for club and country.

However, despite his brilliance at keeping the Reds' opponents at bay, the Spaniard admits striking first at the other end on Saturday could be even more significant than usual.

“The first goal will be hugely important,” said De Gea, in an exclusive interview for United Review, the official match programme.

“Get the first goal and then try to dominate the game, keep hold of the ball and have plenty of possession – that will be very important.

“I’m sure it’s going to be a very even game, a tough game where things will be tight,” he added.

“But we are at home in front of our own fans and we can’t afford any more slip-ups, we need to get the win to keep ourselves right up there near the top.

"Beating Spurs at Old Trafford would be a great way to start out on another run of [league] victories. Let’s hope that we can manage to do it."

Tottenham have only conceded two more goals than United in the Premier League and De Gea admits he's an admirer of his opposite number, France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

“Of course [Lloris] is a great keeper, he has many years of experience with his national side and with Tottenham," said the Reds' no.1. "He’s very quick and very agile and comes off his line well. He's a great keeper all round.”

Disatu sisi United pasti akan bermain full bertahan kalau lawan tim2 seperti ini, untungnya Kane cedera..
Semoga Mkhitaryan bisa kembali ke performa terbaiknya lagi
