Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Preview: United v Tottenham
Date, time and coverage: Wednesday 1 January, 17:30 GMT kick-off. The match will be shown live in the UK on BT Sport. You can also follow it via ManUtd.com’s rolling blog and MUTV Online’s radio commentary. Form guide: Manchester United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford in the midst of an impressive run of form, having recorded six consecutive victories in all competitions. The Reds hope to improve that sequence against Spurs, who have been going through a time of transition following the sacking of manager Andre Villas-Boas on 16 December and subsequent appointment of Tim Sherwood. Since officially taking over, the former midfielder has guided the club to a draw with West Brom and a victory over Stoke. Prior to those results, Sherwood was caretaker boss for their last away match, an encouraging 3-2 win at Southampton. Ins and outs: Wayne Rooney is set to return after missing Saturday’s trip to Hull City with a groin strain, while Antonio Valencia is also available after serving his one-match suspension. Rafael (groin), Phil Jones (knee), Nani (hamstring) and Robin van Persie (groin) are all likely to be out though injury. Tottenham could be without Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Moussa Dembele, who will all undergo late fitness tests. Andros Townsend, Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen are also sidelined. Quote:
The Manager: Tim Sherwood spent the bulk of his playing career with Blackburn Rovers, who he captained to the Barclays Premier League title in 1995, and the midfielder also had spells with clubs including Watford, Norwich and Spurs. Recruited to the White Hart Lane coaching team by Harry Redknapp in 2008, the 44-year-old was seen in some quarters as a surprise choice as successor to Villas-Boas. Last meeting: It’s just one month since the Reds faced the Lillywhites at the Lane, with a brace from Wayne Rooney helping to secure a hard-earned point in a 2-2 draw. Did you know? United have not conceded a penalty in the club’s last 76 Premier League games. Star man: Emmanuel Adebayor, sidelined for much of Villas-Boas’ tenure, has started all four matches for Spurs since Sherwood initially stepped in. Having scored three times in that run, the former Manchester City striker appears reinvigorated. Quote/unquote: "I like to play with risk, we will give them respect but also we can’t be lambs to the slaughter. We have to make sure we get out there and impose ourselves on them as much as we can. There won’t be any fear. We won there last year, so we have already been there and imposed ourselves on Man United and hopefully the players can use that experience to go forward.” – Tim Sherwood. Whistle-blower: Howard Webb takes charge at Old Trafford for the first time this season, having been the man in the middle for the derby defeat in September. The South Yorkshire-based official also oversaw Spurs’ 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City last month. Rivals watch: The New Year is seen in with a full Barclays Premier League programme, with Manchester City facing Swansea at 12:45 GMT. League leaders Arsenal host managerless Cardiff at 15:00, while Liverpool will be hoping to end their sequence of festive defeats when they take on Hull at home. Chelsea travel to Southampton, while Everton are also away at Stoke before the Reds kick 2014 off at Old Trafford. HTML Code:

Tottenham Hotspur have won just one of the last 25 Premier League matches against Manchester United (W1 D7 L17). Manchester United scored two goals from three shots on target in their reverse fixture against Spurs this season. Tottenham’s victory at Old Trafford last season was their first in 21 Premier League attempts (D3 L17). Spurs have failed to score in 13 of their last 19 league trips to Old Trafford. Manchester United have won their last four Premier League games; they have not won 5+ in a row since a spell of seven in a row in March 2013. Wayne Rooney needs one goal to become only the second player in Premier League history to score 10+ goals in 10 consecutive seasons (Lampard achieved this last season). Rooney has two assists more (9) than any other Premier League player this season. Tottenham have won more penalties than any other Premier League team this season (4 – all scored by Roberto Soldado). However, Manchester United have now gone 76 Premier League games without conceding a penalty (equivalent to two whole seasons). HTML Code:

Valencia sudah kembali ternyata, tadi ane ragu sudah balik atau belum ternyata Valencia dapat 2 kartu kuning bukan kartu merah langsung jadi cuma dapat penalty 1 match ban.

Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Lini tengah Spurs bagus neh ada Eriksen kudu diwaspadai, Jones udah bisa main kagak ya? buat ngerusak Lini tengah Spurs. Lennon juga ancaman, dan sepertinya Evra punya tugas khusus kalau lennon main apalagi waktu lawan norwich kelihatan Evra capek sekali terkuras staminanya.

Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Reds wait on Rooney
David Moyes will wait until New Year’s Day before deciding if Wayne Rooney is fit enough to play in United’s evening encounter with Tottenham at Old Trafford. Rooney missed last Saturday’s 1-0 win at Norwich with a groin problem and will be assessed ahead of the match, which kicks off at 17:30 GMT. His fellow striker Robin van Persie looks less likely to feature against Spurs due to a thigh injury picked up in the win over Shakhtar Donetsk on 10 December. “We need to wait and see,” said Moyes on Rooney at his New Year’s Eve press briefing at the Aon Training Complex. “He didn't train today so we'll assess him tomorrow and see how he is. “Van Persie is not quite ready yet, but hopefully he's not too far away.” The Reds’ first opponents of 2014 are under new management, with Tim Sherwood having succeeded Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese’s team played out a 2-2 draw with United at the start of December, but a 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool two weeks later proved to be the former Chelsea boss’ last game in charge. Moyes, however, is wary of his side’s next opponents regardless of whom their manager is. “Tottenham have always been difficult opponents no matter who the manager has been,” he added. “They have a really good side, spend well and always try to reward the manager with the players required. Tottenham have either been in the Champions League or pushing for it and have always been a good, strong team.” HTML Code:
