Manchester United will take on Shinji Kagawa's former side in Osaka in the Yanmar Premium Cup as part of Tour 2013 presented by Aon... Date Friday 26 July 2013. KO: 19:00 local time, 11:00 BST. Location Osaka Nagai Stadium, Osaka. Tickets All tickets have now been sold. The opposition Cerezo Osaka was originally founded as Yanmar Football Club in 1993. Osaka is the club's hometown and the club's name "cerezo" means cherry blossom in Spanish, which is a flower that represents the city of Osaka. Cerezo were promoted to the J.League (J1) in 1995, having been relegated to Division Two twice. After their second comeback to the top league in 2010, they recorded their highest ever finish, ending the campaign in third spot. In recent years the club has produced a number of talented youngsters who have gone on to enjoy successful careers in Europe, most notably United's Shinji Kagawa and Hiroshi Kiyotake who plays for Nurnberg in Germany. Head coach Levir Culpi first managed the club in 1997 and introduced an attacking style of play that remains today. The Brazilian returned to his home country the following year where he managed Cruzeiro EC and Sao Paulo FC. After returning to Cerezo in 2007 when the club were in Division 2, he helped develop the then-18-year-old Kagawa into one of the league's standout performers. In 2009, Cerezo were promoted back to the top division. Culpi left the club at the end of the 2010/2011 season before returning in August 2012 for his third spell at the helm. Star man Attacking midfielder Yoichiro Kakitani wears the symbolic no.8 for Cerezo Osaka. Kakitani came up through the ranks at the club and was top scorer in J1 at the end of May 2013. Last season The J.League runs from March to October. The club finished last season in 14th and currently lie in sixth place this term (correct at 27 July). Did you know? There are 100 "Shinji seats" at all Cerezo Osaka home games (at both the Osaka Nagai Stadium and Kincho Stadium). Shinji has invited children to sit in the seats since 2011, saying: "I hope that as many children as possible will experience the fun of football." HTML Code:
