Jesse Lingard 'set to be sold by Manchester United this summer after losing the confidence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer'... despite under-fire star 'believing he is one of the best No 10's in European football'

* Jesse Lingard will reportedly be shipped out of Manchester United this summer
* The under-fire playmaker has lost the confidence of boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
* Lingard has been relegated to a back-up role after Bruno Fernandes' arrival
* Super agent Mino Raiola will attempt to broker a move away for the 27-year-old
* Despite his poor form, Lingard believes he is one of the best No 10s around

Jesse Lingard will reportedly be axed from Manchester United this summer after losing the confidence of boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The under-fire 27-year-old has failed to impress this campaign and was relegated to a back-up role after the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January.

And according to Goal, Lingard is set to be shipped out at the end of the season, with super agent Mino Raiola tasked with securing him a move away.

Lingard has largely been restricted to cameo appearances in the Europa League and FA Cup, and could only muster two goals in his last 35 games.

The England international recruited Raiola, who remains a deeply unpopular figure among the corridors at Old Trafford, as his new agent earlier this year - and the divisive negotiator could scramble into action despite Lingard's contract running until 2021.

With little progress made concerning an extension, it appears likely Lingard's sale will be used to fund the planned rebuild at the club.

United are believed to have identified Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and James Maddison as primary targets for Solskjaer's second full campaign at the helm of his former club, which would force Lingard further down the pecking order.

But despite his uncertain future, the same report states that Lingard regards himself as one of the best No 10s operating in European football.

This is a stark contrast to Solskjaer's appraisal of the club's academy graduate, with questions remaining surrounding Lingard's application in training.

The United manager is understood to have demanded that the star improves his work ethic throughout the rest of the term.

Goal also believes that there is not yet an indication of any strong interest from potential suitors.

Lingard may be sold to help fund United's planned rebuild and the club want three additions. Jadon Sancho is thought to be a primary target along with Jack Grealish and James Maddison. Solskjaer reportedly demanded that Lingard improves his worth ethic for the rest of the term

Solskjaer has demanded that Lingard and Andreas Pereira react after losing their starting spots.

The under-performing duo were entirely absent from United's matchday squad for their clash with Watford on February 23, with the United boss admitting he refuses to feel 'sorry' for his struggling charges.

United condemned supporters who aimed verbal abuse at Lingard as he boarded the team bus after their FA Cup win at Derby, in a disturbing indication that patience is rapidly running thin with the attacker.

Manchester United star Jesse Lingard commits to the #FootballUnited intiative, joining team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Arsenal's Hector Bellerin in campaign to raise £100k to combat coronavirus pandemic

* Jesse Lingard is the latest star to join the #FootballUnited movement this week
* The campaign hopes to raise around £100,000 to battle coronavirus pandemic
* He commits to the cause alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hector Bellerin

Jesse Lingard has joined the #FootballUnited movement after pledging his support to the fundraising campaign.

The Manchester United star has backed the initiative, which is in partnership with the National Emergencies Trust, following its launch by a host of the Premier League's most high profile stars after taking to social media in support of the cross-club alliance.

Since Wednesday's launch, Lingard, Rob Holding, Reiss Nelson, Max Aarons and Christian Benteke are among the players to have joined the alliance.

Jesse Lingard has pledged his support to #FootballUnited to battle the coronavirus outbreak

Donations in #FootballUnited 's name have been made to the Just Giving page that set up especially for the campaign and the general National Emergencies Trust appeal, which has raised £11million.

The #FootballUnited campaign aims to raise £100,000 to help the fight against coronavirus.

Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin were among the players originally on board, but that number is growing rapidly.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hector Bellerin have teamed up to join forces against coronavirus. Chelsea starlet Reece James is one of many footballers to have helped launch the campaign

Bournemouth striker Calum Wilson, Chelsea star Reece James and Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend have also pledged their support.

A joint statement on behalf of the players read: 'Football has such a big role to play in communities and our clubs are a huge part of people's lives.

'Without football, we want to put our rivalries aside and show togetherness at such a critical moment for the country.

'These are uncertain times for communities, but as players we want to show some recognition for the incredible work that is being done for the most vulnerable.

'There are so many people at home who are afraid, alone and without full-time care.

'With the nation's help, we can show our support to the many volunteers and organisations who need funds to make sure vital food and medicine supplies will continue to be delivered during the crisis.

'As players we would love nothing more than to be out there playing in front of packed stadiums again, but that can wait – the most important thing right now is the future of the country and #FootballUnited is our way of showing some community spirit.'

Hidup Jesse Lingard Sudah Keras dari Dulu
Mohammad Resha Pratama - detikSport

'When you play for the first team week in, week out... you cherish every moment you've been through': Jesse Lingard opens up on beating early setbacks to make it at Man United

* Jesse Lingard made his Manchester United debut back in 2014 against Swansea
* He has since gone on to make 202 appearances for the Premier League giants
* Lingard had to be patient for his first-team bow at the club he joined aged seven
* He has opened up on how his physique and injuries slowed his early progress

Jesse Lingard has opened up on how he battled early setbacks to make a career for himself at Manchester United.

Lingard had to be extremely patient to make his first-team debut for the club he joined when he was seven, but he has since gone on to make 202 appearances for the Premier League giants.

And the England international has now revealed how his small physique made him work harder to rise through the ranks and become a first-team regular at United.

England winger Jesse Lingard has scored 31 goals in 202 appearances for Manchester United

'I was always small,' Lingard told the official Manchester United podcast. 'When I was in the Under 18s I played most Under-16s games because a lot of people were bigger than me, but it didn't faze me.

'I always worked hard, I always stayed behind, always did the right thing. I think it's just working hard, and sticking to the plan but, sometimes you go off course.

'I went on loan, I had to battle there and fight for my place when I came back to United.'

The 27-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a horrible run of form.

Lingard (2nd left) celebrates winning the FA Youth Cup with the Red Devils back in May, 2011. The 27-year-old admitted that because of his small stature, he had to work harder growing up

But Lingard is desperate to enjoy a long and successful career at United and has highlighted how a long-term injury lay-off following his first-team debut against Swansea in 2014, has made him hungrier to succeed at the highest level.

'I got injured on my debut so I was out for six months, so I have had a lot of setbacks but if you keep fighting, work hard and keep believing, your dreams will come true,' he said.

'It's the biggest club in the world so it's tough to start at the bottom and work your way up.

'There's a lot of obstacles on the way, a lot of highs and lows, but when you finally get to the end you're playing for the first team week in, week out, you cherish every moment that you've been through.'

Memble di MU, Lingard Malah Jadi Rebutan 4 Klub Inggris
Bayu Baskoro - detikSport

Manchester - Meski tampil kurang impresif musim ini, Jesse Lingard tetap diincar beberapa klub. Empat tim Premier League disebut tertarik memboyongnya. Klub mana saja itu?

Penampilan Lingard bersama Manchester United kerap mendapat sorotan sejak awal musim 2019/2020.

Duh, Lingard Akui Sempat Tidak Fokus Bermain
Yanu Arifin - detikSport

Manchester - Jesse Lingard punya performa buruk tahun lalu. Gelandang serang Manchester United itu mengaku memang tidak fokus saat bermain.

Lingard punya performa menurun setahun terakhir.

Manchester United deny claims Jesse Lingard has been speaking to former team-mates about a move to Italy 'amid interest from AC Milan'

Manchester United have denied suggestions Jesse Lingard has spoken to Chris Smalling and Ashley Young about life in Italy amid interest from AC Milan.

The 27-year-old midfielder signed up with Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola last year despite his fractious relationship with the board at Old Trafford.

Lingard has lost his place as a regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the past 18 months after suffering a dip in form.

According to a report in the Independent, he was discussing life in the country.

But United insiders have denied suggestions that Lingard has been speaking to his former team-mates about what a possible switch would have in store for him.

Smalling joined Roma on loan last summer and the Italians are keen to make his move permanent following an impressive campaign in the capital.

Young was given permission to join Inter on a free in January and the club have since extended his deal by a further 12 months after he impressed Antonio Conte.

'Jesse deserved his goal... it was for all the comments everyone is saying about him': Bruno Fernandes hits out at Lingard critics in defence of under-fire Manchester United team-mate

* Bruno Fernandes has praised his Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard
* The England international netted the second goal in the win over Leicester City
* Lingard's goal ended a long Premier League goal drought with Sunday's strike
* Fernandes has lauded Lingard's hard work and hit out at his critics

Bruno Fernandes has praised his Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard before hitting out at the 27-year-old's critics after his crucial goal in the win over Leicester City.

Lingard was introduced from the bench and capitalised on an error from Kasper Schmeichel to give United a two-goal advantage over their top four rivals to book their place in the Champions League next season.

The England international's strike was his first of the season, and his inability to score in the Premier League this campaign has lead to plenty of criticism of his performances for United.

And Fernandes, whose January arrival has inspired United to claim a place in the top four, has hit out at his team-mate's critics, as well as praising Lingard's work ethic.

Bruno Fernandes has praised Manchester United team-mate Jesse Lingard after his goal. The 27-year-old ended his Premier League goal drought with United's second at Leicester City

'Of course it's a mistake from the keeper also but if Jesse doesn't go there the goal doesn't come so it's for this we work,' the Portuguese told MUTV.

'For me Jesse deserved this goal because for what he works all week, for all the comments everyone is saying about him and other players because they don't play too much or they don't play good enough.

'I think this is the reason Jesse scored because we're training hard, training hard to help all the team.

Fernandes praised Lingard for his hard work in training with United's other squad players

'With him, Juan [Mata], Andreas [Pereira], Odion [Ighalo], the guys who can be at the front to score but also the defenders they push the guys who are playing to be at a higher level.'

Fernandes also got on the scoresheet, scoring his penalty to give United an important second half lead. Asked whether that was his most important goal for United, he said: 'No, I think the most important one will be the next.

'I'm always thinking about the next one. I'm happy, all goals are important in different ways.

'It was important for us and for me to score this goal because it gives us the chance to be more calm in the game.'

Fernandes has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in his 14 Premier League appearances for the club.

'I was lost as a player and person': Jesse Lingard opens up on his Manchester United struggles this season as he vows to work 'harder than ever' to return to his best form

* Jesse Lingard admits he has endured a poor season with Manchester United
* The 27-year-old said on Instagram he has had a tough year on and off the pitch
* The midfielder made just nine Premier League starts this season
* However he has endured personal problems with his mother falling ill
* But the England international vows to work harder than ever to return to form

Jesse Lingard has revealed how becoming 'lost as a player and a person' led to him enduring a poor campaign on the fringes of the Manchester United squad.

Despite the Red Devils continuing to improve under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, having finished third in the Premier League to earn a return to the Champions League, Lingard struggled to make an impact.

The midfielder made just nine league starts for United, but came off the bench on Sunday to score his first goal of the campaign in the 2-0 win over Leicester City with effectively the last kick of the season.

But it has proven to be a tough year for the 27-year-old who revealed to Sportsmail back in December that he had to take greater care of his siblings after his mother had fallen ill.

The added responsibilities has led to Lingard reassessing himself as he opened up on his tough campaign on Instagram.

He said: 'This season has been difficult for so many reasons. I lost who I was as a player and person, but I never wanted to give up, I knew who I really was on and off the pitch and knew that having been there before I could get there again.

Despite scoring on the final day against Leicester City (above) Jesse Lingard has admitted he has struggled this year for Manchester United. The midfielder admitted back in December to Sportsmail he was on his 'last chance' under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

'This meant working harder than I’d ever done before and trusting in those around me that they knew how to best help me achieve that.'

Lingard added in his interview that he was on his 'last chance' under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a crude social media post last summer and that he has been trying to get back to his best this term.

He also acknowledged the frustration of United supporters in his social media post, insisting he doing all he can to return to his previous best, which included him playing a starring role in England's march towards the 2018 World Cup semi-finals.

'I know the fans have been frustrated, he added. 'But in all this time my love for this club and everyone connected to it has never left me. This team, this club is my family and I will continue to keep working harder than ever to help this team achieve its goals.

Jesse Lingard 'splits with agent Mino Raiola less than a year after linking up with him' as injured midfielder waits to see if Manchester United trigger their option to extend his contract beyond next summer

* Jesse Lingard started a partnership with Mino Raiola in January of this year
* But the Manchester United midfielder and the super-agent have split already
* Lingard has featured just twice for United this season as he struggles with injury
* His contract runs out next year but Utd do have an option to extend until 2022

Jesse Lingard has parted company with super-agent Mino Raiola after working together for just 10 months, according to reports.

Sportsmail revealed in January that the Manchester United midfielder had decided to link up with Raiola as part of a wider strategy from the agent to establish links with more English players.

But ESPN are reporting that Lingard will now be managed by family members and other close associates with the decision thought to be mutual and Raiola - who is the representative of Lingard's team-mate Paul Pogba - still on good terms with the English midfielder.

The report details that Lingard's contract, which is due to expire next summer, has an option of a one-year extension in it until 2022 but that has not yet been triggered.

Despite having not featured since September due to a hip injury, United are keen to keep the 27-year-old and want to avoid losing him on a free in 2021.

The player himself is keen to play regular first-team football, with opportunities drying up recently under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but is open to staying at Old Trafford.

Raiola, who is known to have a frosty past with Solskjaer, has been the long-term agent of Pogba, who has regularly been linked with a move away from United.

Jesse Lingard has parted with agent Mino Raiola after less than a year working together. Super-agent Raiola started a relationship with Lingard in January but that has now ended

Lingard, who featured for England at the 2018 World Cup, was subject of interest from Tottenham and Porto during the summer window.

He featured 40 times in all competitions last season, scoring just once in the Premier League on the final day of the season against Leicester City.

But with the signing of Donny van de Beek in the summer from Ajax, Lingard has seen himself fall further down the pecking order.

Lingard has fallen down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at United this season

So far this season, he has played just twice, in EFL Cup wins against Luton and Brighton.

But Solskjaer is hopeful the playmaker will return to full fitness soon having been ruled out of United's last seven games due to injury.

He has made 209 appearances for the first-team since breaking through from the academy, after making his competitive debut in August 2014.
