Pertemuan ketiga nih di musim ini, setelah pada 2 pertemuan sebelumnya Manchester United berhasil mempecundangi Liverpool (3-2/EPL dan 1-0/FA) di Old Trafford, kali ini giliran pasukan the Red Devils harus bertandang ke masrkas the Anfield Gank.
King Kenny kembali menjadi tokoh kunci pada match kali ini, setelah didapuk untuk menjadi nakhoda anak2x merseyside merah di pertengahan musim ini, tangan dinginnya kembali akan diuji saat menghadapi United di Super Sunday.
Kehilangan Torres, seperti tidak terlalu membawa dampak significant untuk Liverpool di musim ini, karena memang sejak awal musim performanya bisa dibilang tidak terlalu menonjol.
