Dari first team squad yang ada (di bawah), nama-nama yang tertera di sana rasanya kurang begitu dikenal, kecuali ada satu nama yang cukup berperan mengantarkan Burnley ke ajang EPL, sapa lagi klo bukan ex United, midfielder Chris Eagles (33). Meski begitu United tidak bisa menganggap enteng partai ini, secara team2x underdog semacam Burnley ini tentunya didukung fanatisme dan semangat extra dalam menghadapi lawan2xnya.

chris eagle usia nya udah 33 tahun ya... bukan nya dia kelahiran tahun 85... CMIIW...

melawan tim promosi biasa nya United akan sedikit kesulitan... dikarenakan tim" promosi memilih untuk bertahan... tapi gw harap sih United bisa menang dengan lebih dari satu gol dan Owen buat gol perdana nya buat United di kompetisi resmi...

Eckersley relishing Reds' visit

Like most of Burnley, Richard Eckersley can't wait for United's visit to Turf Moor on Wednesday.

The Clarets are preparing to host their first ever home game in the Premier League... although for Eckersley the occasion is significant for another reason.

Until the middle of July, the 20-year-old was a Red. Born in Salford and a graduate of United's famed Academy system, Eckersley made his first appearance at youth level when he was just 14. Last term he made his United debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup, coming on in the 53rd minute. He went on to make another three substitute appearances, impressing with each run-out.

But the tenacious defender, named the Reserves' Player of the Year in 2007/08, admits he was faced with a tough choice in the summer: stay at Old Trafford and wait patiently in the wings, or grasp the opportunity now to stake a claim for regular top-flight football.

"United's a dream club and nobody really wants to leave, but I wanted the chance to play first-team football and hopefully I'll get that here at Burnley," Eckersley told MUTV. "There was an offer on the table from United [a contract extension] but I took up Burnley's offer because I know I can cope with life in the Premier League.

"Just being around the first-team players at United every day and training with them was really special. I learnt a lot, and not just how to train.

"You also learn about how to go about your daily life and how to conduct yourself off the pitch. Hopefully I can apply that knowledge here.

"I'm delighted to be at Burnley and I can't wait to play, keep training and go away with the team. I hope to do well."

Eckersley isn't the only former United player in Burnley's ranks. Chris Eagles made the move last summer and played a key role in helping the club achieve promotion. He's backed Eckersley to succeed at Turf Moor and says his fellow team-mates have already taken to the young defender.

"I think he's settled already," Eagles said. "He's a great lad and a great player and hopefully he'll be playing alongside me on the right side of the pitch. In training it's been brilliant - he gives me the ball whenever I'm in space.

"I was excited to hear he'd signed because I played with his brother [Adam] at United and I obviously know him already."

Eckersley was an unused substitute on Saturday in Burnley's 2-0 loss at Stoke City.

apalagi msh awal musim gini, pasti ngebet bgt buat ngalahin United..
