MOURINHO: WE NEED DYNAMISM AND DESIRE

Jose Mourinho has praised the pressing ability and dynamism of his young Manchester United attack, as the Reds gear up to face Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard helped United earn a deserved point in Wednesday's 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal, with Mourinho's men producing a spirited response after falling behind twice during the game.

Speaking in Friday's press conference to preview Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham at Old Trafford, the boss expressed his delight at the attacking display against the Gunners but insisted more goals will be needed as the Reds push to regain a place in the top four.

“We need to score more goals,” Jose said. “I think being dynamic, happiness and routines adapted to the qualities of the players is one thing but, in the end, the most important thing is [putting] the ball in the net, goals, points and victories.

”But that [being dynamic] is a good thing and a thing that I praise. That's something that the team needs and one of the reasons why, for example, in the last match [against Arsenal] we pressed high. One of the reasons why the team was up and pressing was because of the characteristics and the desire of these attacking players.“

Against Arsenal, the boss started with a front three of Marcus Rashford, Martial and Lingard - who are 21, 23 and 25 years old respectively.

Romelu Lukaku was introduced as a second-half substitute, along with Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini.

When asked about the Belgium striker's recent involvement, Jose said that Romelu was in need of a breather following a busy summer and a recent injury.

“He's having a rest,“ the boss told reporters. ”He was injured, he didn't play a couple of matches due to injury. He didn't play [against] Juventus [away], he didn't play against Chelsea. He was on the bench against Manchester City and another game, so I don't think in the last month we can speak about many minutes.“

LINGARD'S TAKE ON THE ATTACKING TRIO

Jesse Lingard opened his goals account for the season with the all-important equaliser against Arsenal on Wednesday night and enjoyed being part of the Reds' youthful and energetic attacking trio, along with fellow goalscorer Martial and pal Rashford.

“It was good,” our no.14 told MUTV ahead of the Fulham match. “It was good. We played close together and I think that is very important – when one gets the ball, the other two make the movement, with one coming close and the other running in behind. We had a really good understanding.

”I think, off the pitch, obviously me and Marcus are very close and, of course, that helps on the pitch with communication.“

NOBODY CAN POINT A FINGER AT US

Jose Mourinho believes no Manchester United fan could fault the effort of his players in either the draw with Arsenal or convincing 4-1 triumph over Fulham.

The Old Trafford faithful have been rewarded for their support with a couple of stirring displays and the boss is pleased his players are showing the appetite and desire to push the team up the Premier League table.

The first-half showing, in particular, was a tremendous illustration of attacking intent which yielded three goals in front of the Stretford End.

“The team was clearly there to win and clearly there to give everything,” Jose said at his post-match press conference. “When you give everything, you know nobody can point the finger at you. Even if the opposition is better than you and beats you, that's football. That's the nature of competition.

”What I really want is not one single United fan can point the finger at us by saying we don't give everything - also against Arsenal. A result we don't want but the kind of performance, independent of the result, that people respect the effort.“

The manager praised most his players for their performance and had a word on Romelu Lukaku's form, after the Belgian scored the third goal from a Juan Mata cross.

“I think Romelu's performance improved a lot, in relation to previous matches,” added Jose. “Not because of the goal but the way he was pressing and fighting for the team. We were a compact unit that gave no chance to Fulham in the first half.”

Both the Portuguese boss and the Spaniard have confronted the bust up in recent interviews, with Mourinho recently insinuating that the former Spain international had not been honest when suggesting he had never confronted him about his omission from the team.

'My question is, for that newspaper: In the case of coaches, when and at what moment do you see that they are no longer there to lead a team or train?'

Mourinho recently called out Casillas for what he percieved to be sly behaviour during his time at Real.

In an interview with Portuguese paper Record he said of the 37-year-old, who now plays in Portugal with Porto: 'When he says he never confronted me he's not telling the truth.

'He confronted me and he did it in a way in which no-one does it better than him, secretly.'

Unmarried Prue, 41, a former IBM worker, lives in a £1.2million home in North London.

Mourinho, in line for a £15million payoff after his Old Trafford axing on Tuesday, has repeatedly stressed the importance of marriage throughout his career.

In December 2016 he flew to Tami, 53, twice in 24 hours as she recovered from emergency surgery in Lisbon. Reports at the time said she had suffered complications from an earlier op.

She recuperated at the family’s £2million home near Setubal and is understood to be back to health.

The couple met when he was 17 and Tami 15, and he often credits her for his achievements.

He once said: “The secret in everything is love. If you are successful in any job, I believe it is because you are in love with that job.

“And if you have a successful family it is because people are in love with each other. Love is the basic.”

In 2013 ex-Chelsea boss Mourinho got Tami’s and kids Matilde, 21, and 18-year-old Jose Jr’s name tattooed on his arm.

The family also have a £5million home in Belgravia, London, where Mourinho has been staying since his axing.

Mourinho was also reported to have had an affair in 2001 with boutique owner Elsa Sousa, while manager of Portuguese side Uniao de Leiria

She told a newspaper in 2007: “He told me he was separated from his wife because he was not happy. I was sure he was telling the truth.”

He will mull over his football future after a low-key Christmas with his family in Portugal.

Jakarta - Klub sepak bola Manchester United resmi memecat Jose Mourinho sebagai pelatih pada hari Rabu kemarin. Selama melatih MU, Mourinho memilih untuk tinggal di sebuah hotel bernama The Lowry Hotel di Manchester.

Usai dipecat, Mourinho pun angkat kaki dari hotel tersebut. Tagihan hotel yang harus dibayar mencapai US$ 679 ribu atau sekitar Rp 9,8 miliar (kurs: Rp 14.5000/dolar AS).

Keputusan Mourinho untuk menginap di sebuah hotel sudah menjadi rahasia umum masyarakat Manchester. Pelatih berjuluk the Special One itu memilih tinggal di hotel ketimbang harus membeli rumah.

Kamar hotel yang bernama Riverside Suite yang disewa Mourinho dilengkapi dengan kamar tidur yang luas, aula terpisah, ruang makan serta dapur minimalis.

Apartemen mewah yang disewa Mourinho itu memberikan pemandangan yang indah. Salah satu pemandangan yang ditawarkan adalah sungai Irwell yang eksotis serta dekorasi seniman terkenal Alan Rankle.

Selama menginap 2,5 tahun di sana, Mourinho sudah cukup akrab dengan staff dan karyawan hotel. Sejumlah karyawan pun mengaku sedih saat harus berpisah dengan mantan pelatih Chelsea ini.

Pihak hotel tidak memberitahu mengenai mengenai tarif kamar dari mantan pelatih MU tersebut karena alasan privasi.

"Kami tidak memberikan detail mengenai orang yang tinggal bersama kami, kami bangga dengan privasi dan kebijaksanaan kami," terang perwakilan hotel seperti dikutip dari CNN, Kamis (20/12/2018).

Tapi, menurut situs resmi The Lowry Hotel, kamar yang ditinggali Mourinho bertarif US$ 758 per malam. Mourinho diketahui menginap selama 895 hari di sana dan diperkirakan total tagihannya US$ 679 ribu.

Manchester - Jose Mourinho sama sekali tak menduga dirinya akan dipecat. Menduga akan membahas kebijakan transfer, Mou malah dipecat saat dipanggil rapat oleh Ed Woodward.

Tak sampai dua hari setelah Manchester United kalah dari Liverpool, Jose Mourinho diberhentikan dari jabatannya. Manajer asal Portugal itu banyak dinilai gagal memaksimalkan potensi pemain yang dipunya dan malah terlibat perseteruan dengan beberapa pemain.

Dikutip dari Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho sangat terkejut ketika dirinya dipecat. Sebabnya dia tak tahu sama sekali soal rencana tersebut.

Mourinho pada Selasa (18/12/2018) dipanggil Ed Woodward ke Carrington untuk mengadakan pertemuan. Mourinho berpikir pertemuan itu untuk membahas rencana pembelian pemain di bursa tarnsfer musim dingin yang segera datang.

Di kesempatan itu Mourinho malah merasa optimistis Ed Woodward akan memberinya lampu hijau untuk mendatangkan pemain.

Tapi keluar dari ruangan pertemua, Mourinho malah membawa surat pemecatan. Woodward mengatakan kalau jasa Mourinho di MU sudah tak dibutuhkan lagi.

Itu menjadi rapat terakhir yang diikuti Mourinho bersama MU. Sekaligus menjadi kebersamaan terakhirnya dengan Setan Merah setelah datang pada 2016.

Mourinho diberhentikan hanya dua hari setelah MU dibenamkan Liverpool 1-3 di Anfield sepekan lalu. Saat tiba di pusat latihan klub di Carrington pada Selasa (18/12/2018), Mourinho mengira akan membicarakan rencana belanja di bursa musim dingin dengan direktur Ed Woodward.

Namun, manajer asal Portugal itu mendapatkan kejutan yang tidak menyenangkan. Sunday Times mengklaim bahwa seorang pemain kunci Setan Merah menjadi katalisator atas kepergian Mourinho.

Telepon tersebut menciptakan reaksi berantai. Woodward kemudian menghubungi pemilik MU, yaitu keluarga Glazers di Amerika Serikat yang akhirnya memutuskan bahwa Mourinho memang harus pergi.

Times juga mengabarkan bahwa beberapa pemain MU bahkan merayakan pemecatan Mourinho.

Pemain legendaris MU, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didapuk sebagai manajer interim sampai akhir musim 2018/19. Manajer Tottenham Hotspur Mauricio Pochettino diklaim sebagai target nomor satu untuk melatih MU pada musim depan.
