Re: Paul Aaron Scholes
Louis van Gaal is a mad genius but Manchester United won't challenge for Premier League title this season, claims club legend Paul Scholes
* Manchester United legend Paul Scholes doesn't believe Red Devils can challenge for Premier League title this season * Former United star admits new manager Louis van Gaal has restored fear factor at Old Trafford * 39-year-old believes Dutcham earned instant respect from players * Scholes predicts Chelsea and Manchester City will battle it out for the title Paul Scholes has labelled Louis van Gaal a ‘mad genius’ as the Manchester United manager prepares for his first Barclays Premier League game against Swanseaon Saturday. Scholes says the Dutch coach is prone to ‘going off his head’ when his team fail to follow orders during training sessions or matches. The former United midfielder, also criticised his former club for failing to bid for Toni Kroos, signed by Real Madrid for £20million, or former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Criticism: Man United legend Paul Scholes believes the club should have signed a world-class midfielder ‘From what I’ve seen (Van Gaal) looks a bit mad. He’s a bit like a mad genius, a bit crazy. He’s obviously very good at his job from where he’s been. I’ve not seen him work but I have seen clips on the telly and one moment he’s hugging someone for doing a great pass and the next, if something’s not right, he’s going off his head. He’s brought a bit of fear, which is no bad thing. 'I played for 20 years for Sir Alex Ferguson and he could be a scary man. Fear can bring performances from you. There’s no doubt these players need to perform this year. If they don’t, I don’t think they’ll be there for very long. ‘Players will know where they stand, which is what you want. You knew where you stood with Sir Alex from what you’d done on the Saturday. If you’d done well, he’d pat you on the back. If you hadn’t, you probably wouldn’t be playing the next week.’ United finished seventh in the Premier League last season and fired manager David Moyes in April after they lost to Everton. Now Scholes believes Champions League qualification will be seen as a success in Van Gaal’s first season, insisting they have no chance of winning the title. ‘Success will be the Champions League,’ he said. ‘It’s between City and Chelsea (for the title). The next two places are between United, Liverpool and Arsenal. ‘There are a lot of players in that (United) team who have won leagues before. They are capable of getting close. We’ll have to see how good the manager is, and if he can bring a couple more players in, although he might think he has enough as it is. Chelsea and Man City have got stronger squads but in the end, squads don’t matter - it’s what you do on the field. ‘In May, hopefully United will be proving people like me wrong.’ Scholes was puzzled by United’s failure to bid for world-class players such as Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger or former Arsenal midfielder Fabregas. ‘A Fabregas, a Toni Kroos or a Schweinsteiger could add real quality to the team, but that’s up to the manager,’ Scholes added. He also claimed confidence was at an all-time low at United when he was brought in with Ryan Giggs for the final four games of last season after Moyes’ dismissal. BT Sport’s new pundit has dismissed Arsenal’s title chances, despite their 3-0 victory over champions Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend. ‘(Alexis) Sanchez is a good signing but is that the type of player they need?’ he said. ‘They needed a top centre half and a strong midfield player. If they had that, they could challenge.’ Code:

Re: Paul Aaron Scholes
Mulai seru nih..
Duo legend, gary neville (nonton di espn), dan scholes bilang united ga bakal juara.. Tp mudah2an sejarah bakal berulang..seperti saat sir alex di ledek gak bisa menang liga dg para anak kecil (class of 92) Dan sekarang van gaal mudah2an mengulang sejarah..dg campuran pemain muda dr akademi yg dr beberapa lg kemaren dipercaya untuk turun lapangan..dan bintang2 yang udah jadi..hehe.. |

Re: Paul Aaron Scholes
Manchester United are't comfortable with Louis van Gaal's 3-5-2 system and it could take longer than the manager hopes to fix the problem, worries Paul Scholes
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is worried his former club is struggling to adapt to Louis van Gaal's style of play and that it will take longer than expected for things to get any better for the club. Dutchman Van Gaal's reign reached the pinnacle of its disastrous beginning when the side he put out against League One opposition MK Dons were not only beaten comprehensively by 4-0 but outplayed as they crashed out of the Capital One Cup. Scholes says in his column for The Independent that the biggest problem facing the club is not the manpower at Van Gaal's disposal but those player's inability to make his preferred 3-5-2 system work. Fear: United legend Paul Scholes says team's inability to adapt to the Dutch manage's style is the biggest worry 'Three men at the back doesn’t seem to be working for them yet,' Scholes says. 'At the moment United look like they are going to concede goals too often. It was the same at Sunderland on Sunday. 'I understand that Van Gaal is trying to make a lot of changes very quickly but the problem is the players don’t seem to have adapted comfortably to 3-5-2 yet. 'It is never easy to make a dramatic tactical change in a short space of time when you are dealing with players who have been drilled to play with a flat back four for many years. This doesn’t mean Van Gaal’s preference for 3-5-2 is wrong – change isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all and players have a responsibility to trust and believe in their manager’s methods.' It should be no excuse for Van Gaal that he didn't field a full-strength line-up against The Dons in the League Cup second round, says Scholes. Starting strikers for the match Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck have made most of their appearances for the club off the bench but should have been able to produce goals. And while Anderson and Nick Powell were making their first appearances for the Red Devils they should have had the class to dominate their far less remunerated opposites. The back three of youngster Michael Keane, stand-in captain Jonny Evans and Marnick Vermijl, the 22-year-old who spent last year on loan in Belgium, were well short of the mark as Will Grigg and Benik Afobe scored a brace each on the back of defensive errors. It's not all bad news for Van Gaal's so far winless season though, according to Scholes - the former midfielder believes things can turn around. The catch is fans may have to be patient. 'Van Gaal says it will take three months for the players to adapt to the way that he wants things done,' Scholes writes in The Independent. 'I hope it will be the case, because at the moment it looks like it could take a lot longer.' Code:

Re: Paul Aaron Scholes
Mungkin Scholes terkenang saat berhadapan dengan Messi beberapa musim lalu ..
Scholes Anggap Messi Semakin Malas Bergerak Bola.net - Legenda Manchester United, Paul Scholes memberikan pendapat mengenai permainan bintang Barcelona, Lionel Messi.
