Re: [EPL] WBA vs Man Utd
kudu waspada nih lawan pasukan Matteo
di OT aja mereka bisa nahan imbang kita. mudah2n rotasi pemain yg dilakukan Gaffer bisa berujung manis mengingat jadwal bakal semakin padat kedepan nya dikarenakan banyak nya pertandingan yang d postpone |

Re: [EPL] WBA vs Man Utd (1Jan - 19.45)
Albion to play with 'no fear'
-teamtalk.com- West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has promised his team will play with "no fear" against Manchester United despite the loss of two defenders. Central defender Gabriel Tamas is out for three games after being sent off against Blackburn, while right-back Gonzalo Jara picked up his fifth yellow card in the same game and also misses out. Jonas Olsson is still sidelined with an Achilles injury, meaning the Baggies will have to field a makeshift back line at The Hawthorns on Saturday. Despite this, Di Matteo says his team will approach the game in their usual positive manner. "We play with no fear against anybody, that's been our strength," he said. The former MK Dons boss admitted that while the situation is not ideal, it is a chance for his fringe players to take their chance in the first team. "We've got three defenders out, so we'll have problems at the back. "I'll have to make changes, and that gives other players the opportunity to come into the team. "It's obviously not a settled back four, but that's what the reality is." One player set to feature in the starting line up is Steven Reid. The former Blackburn midfielder is likely to fill in at right-back, and feels that the team is mature enough to cope with the busy winter period. He said: "These are the games that you want to be involved in, and that's why you play football. "The team as a whole has matured over the last couple of years and the last Premier League campaign. "All of the players are a couple of years older now and I think the performances have shown that. "You've got players who've been in this situation before so everyone's a bit more experienced." Di Matteo's men have lost their last three league matches, something he feels has affected the players at the club. "The mood is obviously not the best, because we've come from a couple of bad results," he said. "We need to draw a line under it, look forward and try to pick ourselves up." The Baggies boss is conscious that regardless of Saturday's result, the team must stay focused on the season's target of avoiding relegation. Di Matteo said: "First game of the season we played Chelsea, and now the first game of the second part of the season we're playing Man Utd. "But after that, there's another 18 games to play." |

Re: [EPL] WBA vs Man Utd (1Jan - 19.45)
Shorey: Ignore the table
-wba.co.uk- NICKY Shorey has urged his team-mates to ignore the league table and focus on trying to pull off another shock in their New Year's Day clash with Manchester United (ko 12.45pm). The Baggies lie in 14th place following three successive defeats and are now just three points above the Barclays Premier League drop zone at the halfway stage of the season. But the 29-year-old left-back has warned there is no point in dwelling on what might have been and says Roberto Di Matteo's troops must focus on trying to pick up points against the table-topping Red Devils - as they did in October's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. "We can't keep looking at the table, we've got to look at the next game and make sure we put in a better performance," said Shorey. "That's the league we're in, and it's a tough league no matter who you're playing. "Blackburn showed that and it's going to be no different playing Manchester United. "We try not to look over our shoulder, and concentrate on our own performances. "We don't look too far ahead. "We just look at the next game, which is why we've probably done alright. "We'll do exactly what we normally do and hopefully it will be enough." Albion will go in search of their first league win over United since March 1984 when Cyrille Regis and Steve Mackenzie scored in a 2-0 Hawthorns victory. And once again Shorey and Co will be looking to rip up the record books as they have done against Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle already this term. "We've got quite a few young players in the team and squad who have only known success after getting promoted from the Championship," the former Villa and Reading defender added. "But we know it's a tough league and we can go on losing streaks, we are on one at the minute and we've got to put a stop to it. "They are learning all the time and we've got a few old heads in there as well. "We've lost three on the bounce but it's one of those things, we don't want to read too much into it, and we're confident we can go into Saturday's game and win. "That's the mentality we've got to have." Shorey's appearance against Blackburn on Tuesday was his first start in six top-flight encounters as he got the nod over the benched Marek Cech. He admits it has been a frustrating time on the sidelines for him and hopes he has done enough to keep his place against Sir Alex Ferguson's side. "All I want to do is go out there and play," he said. "It's been frustrating for me not playing and it's nice to get back out there. "I was a bit tired but I've got that under my belt now." |

Re: [EPL] WBA vs Man Utd (1Jan - 19.45)
Scharner worry for Baggies
-skysports.com- Reid hoping to take his chance against United Paul Scharner has provided Roberto Di Matteo with a further defensive headache ahead of West Brom's game with Manchester United on Saturday. Di Matteo is already without the suspended Gonzalo Jara and Gabriel Tamas, and the injured Jonas Olsson, for the game and is now sweating over the fitness of Scharner. The Austrian sat out training on Thursday due to illness and Di Matteo will hope Scharner recovers in time for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at The Hawthorns. With Jara banned, Steven Reid is likely to come into the team at right-back and he is looking forward to facing the current Premier League leaders. Matured "These are the games that you want to be involved in, and that's why you play football," said Reid. "The team as a whole has matured over the last couple of years and the last Premier League campaign. "All of the players are a couple of years older now and I think the performances have shown that. "You've got players who've been in this situation before so everyone's a bit more experienced." Di Matteo's men have lost their last three league matches, something the Baggies boss feels has affected the players at the club. "The mood is obviously not the best, because we've come from a couple of bad results," he said. "We need to draw a line under it, look forward and try to pick ourselves up." |
