Manchester United commit to covering £120 cost of Russian visa for EVERY fan travelling to Rostov match

* Manchester United travel to Russia to take on FC Rostov in Europa League match
* All Manchester United fans will need a visa to enter Russia, costing around £120
* The Red Devils face a nightmare 3,744-mile round trip before playing Chelsea
* The club have announced that they will refund the full amount to all supporters
* Mancheter United face paying up to £60,000 for all 500 travelling fans

Manchester United will pay for their supporters’ visas for their Europa League trip to Russia.

United take on FC Rostov on March 9 in the away leg of their round of 16 clash and the club have vowed to refund the £118.20 processing fee for around 500 travelling supporters.

Rostov, located east of Ukraine, is almost 2,000 miles away from Manchester and fans will face substantial costs to follow their team.

Manchester United were drawn with Russian side FC Rostov in the Europa League round of 16

However, Sportsmail understands that United decided to act as a gesture of goodwill given the short time frame between the draw and the match.

Supporters successful in the ballot for the match have been asked to supply their travel details by 8pm on Wednesday and will have their tickets posted out as soon as they arrive from Rostov.

Those who are leaving early can ask for them to be sent to their hotel.
Jose Mourinho’s United, who return to face Chelsea following the clash, had previously moved Moscow to Manchester ahead of a trip to CSKA Moscow in 2015 when they set up a temporary visa service with the Russian Embassy at the club’s Carrington training ground for players and one at Old Trafford for fans.

However, as there is now a visa application centre in Manchester, supporters will need to arrange their own documents.

Fans can then send a receipt for their visa and the club will contact them to arrange a refund.

Glory Glory Man United !!!

Btw Ibrahimovic jadi kena sanksi ga sih ? Kabarnya ada sanksi dari FA soal penyikutan pemain Bournemouth :-@:-@

EARLY TEAM NEWS FOR UNITED'S ROSTOV TRIP

Manchester United will fly to Russia on Tuesday for a Europa League Round of 16 first-leg game against FC Rostov and Jose Mourinho will be without at least one first-team player.

The Reds' summer signing from Villarreal, Eric Bailly, must serve the suspension that he earned when he was shown the first yellow card in last month’s 1-0 Round of 32 second-leg win at Saint-Etienne. He was later sent off in that fixture following a second bookable offence and is therefore one booking away from a further one-match ban.

The Ivory Coast international was notably not included in United’s squad for the Premier League draw against Bournemouth on Saturday, when Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo started at centre-back.

It also remains to be seen whether Henrikh Mkhitaryan is fit enough to travel to Russia. The Armenian has not featured since picking up an injury in United’s last Europa League match, in France at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, when he scored the game’s only goal before exiting the action during the first half. He duly missed the EFL Cup final and Saturday’s clash with the Cherries.

Speaking to MUTV on Friday, Mourinho suggested his former Borussia Dortmund player might return in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea next Monday. “He didn’t recover in time for this [Bournemouth] game,” Jose said. “I believe, during the next week, especially for the weekend [ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge], he will be fine and we don’t have major problems.”

In the same interview, the manager also confirmed Bastian Schweinsteiger has a minor injury and the German was therefore not involved against Bournemouth, but will he board the flight to Russia?

All will be revealed when United’s travelling squad for the Europa League match against FC Rostov is announced on ManUtd.com and @ManUtd on Twitter this coming Tuesday afternoon.

WHO IS REGISTERED TO PLAY IN THIS SEASON'S EUROPA LEAGUE?

De Gea, Pereira*, O'Hara*, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah*, Bailly, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Tuanzebe*, Blind, Shaw*, Young, Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford*, Rooney, Ibrahimovic.

* indicates ‘List B' players.

WHAT IS A 'LIST B' PLAYER?

UEFA states: "A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 1995 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be registered if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years)."

Manchester United warn fans not to 'attract attention' by wearing club colours and to remain on two police-patrolled streets ahead of Europa League clash with Rostov

* Manchester United have written to fans travelling to Russia on Thursday
* The club have warned fans not to wear club colours and 'attract attention'
* The precaution comes in hope of avoiding fan violence at the match
* Around 400 United supporters are expected to be heading across to Russia
* United officials have also told fans to take heed of what happened at Euro 2016

Manchester United have written to fans travelling to Russia for Thursday’s Europa League clash to warn them not to wear colours, keep a low profile and not ‘attract attention’.

The Premier League side head to the country to take on Rostov and there are serious fears that their supporters may be targeted by Russian hooligans.

Officials at United have also told those travelling to take heed of what happened at Euro 2016 when dozens of England fans were injured after being set upon by well-drilled, weapon-carrying Russian thugs.

Fans travelling to Russia for the Europa League clash have been warned to avoid club colours

The club have told the 400 supporters expected to head to Rostov to remain on two streets which will be patrolled by police - while guarded shuttle buses will be laid on to escort visiting fans to the stadium.

The letter, seen by Sportsmail, tells United fans that they are ‘strongly advised’ not to wear club colours or ‘attract attention to your presence in the city’.

It also advises them to remain in groups and not to walk around the city alone.

‘It is not just opposition football fans who may potentially pose a risk to your safety’ it adds.

Manchester United face a gruelling long distance trip and 400 fans are expected to travel

‘Incidents of serious disorder during the European Championship in France last summer, including violent individuals and groups emanating from Eastern Europe should be remembered when considering your movements and actions.'

United fans will be searched twice before being allowed entry to the stadium and held back for around 20 to 30 minutes following the game.

Re: [EL] FC Rostov V Manchester United

http://www.manutd.com/sitecore/shell...,440,2000,1560Europa League preview: Rostov v United

When is it?
Manchester United's Europa League Round of 16, first-leg match against FC Rostov will kick off at the Olimp-2 Stadium at 18:00 GMT on Thursday. It will be broadcast live in the UK on BT Sport, but you can also follow it via ManUtd.com's match blog and @ManUtd on Twitter. MUTV subscribers can get the build-up in Match Day Live from 17:00 GMT, followed by radio commentary of the game, and see the full 90 minutes from midnight.

How did we get here?
United breezed through the Europa League Round of 32 with a fine 4-0 aggregate win over Saint-Etienne. The Reds won both legs of the tie, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring his first hat-trick for the club in a 3-0 home triumph and Henrikh Mkhitaryan netting the only goal at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard to wrap up the tie. Rostov also impressed in the Round of 32, brushing aside Sparta Prague 5-1 on aggregate after doing most of the damage with a 4-0 first-leg win at home.

Weren’t they in the Champions League this year?
Indeed they were. Rostov overcame Anderlecht and Ajax in the qualifying rounds. Being drawn in a group with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid was always going to be tough, though they did finish third in their pool ahead of PSV Eindhoven, earning two draws with the Dutch side and a famous 3-2 home win over Bayern.

What's their domestic form like?
Rostov are looking in decent nick – they thrashed struggling Tom Tomsk 6-0 away at the weekend in their first league match following the winter break. They currently sit fifth in the Russian Premier League after 18 games and are unbeaten at home; they've also only lost once in their last seven European home games.

Any early team news?
Eric Bailly will be unavailable due to suspension and it remains to be seen whether Mkhitaryan will be involved; the Armenian missed the EFL Cup final and the weekend draw with Bournemouth through injury. But Paul Pogba could make his 50th European appearance, a tally notched for both Juventus and United. Rostov have a near full-strength squad, though goalkeeper Soslan Dzhanaev is set to miss out through injury.

Have United played Rostov before?
No, but the Reds have faced four other Russian sides since 1992, most recently CSKA Moscow in the Champions League group stage last season. United came out on top at Old Trafford, winning 1-0, after being held to a 1-1 draw in Moscow. The Reds are also unbeaten in four games away to Russian sides – albeit a goalless draw against Torpedo Moscow in 1992 preceded a penalty shoot-out defeat in the UEFA Cup first round. We have only lost once to a Russian side over 90 minutes, going down 2-1 to Zenit St Petersburg in the 2008 Super Cup in Monaco.

What did Jose Mourinho say when the draw was made?
"It's a bad draw in every aspect," the manager admitted. "It's far and is difficult. It's far and comes in a bad period for us. It's difficult because they are a very difficult team; they had a very good Champions League campaign. They had a very difficult group with Bayern and Atletico but they managed important results against them."

What other ties are being played?
There are seven other Round of 16 ties being played on Thursday night. Here’s the full list of fixtures (all 20:05 GMT unless stated)…

FC Copenhagen vs Ajax (18:00 GMT)
Apoel Nicosia vs Anderlecht (18:00 GMT)
Celta Vigo vs FC Krasnodar
FC Schalke 04 vs Borussia Monchengladbach
KAA Gent vs KRC Genk
Lyon vs Roma
Olympiacos vs Besiktas
