Man Utd 'to earn £3m for playing their first-ever game in India during pre-season tour this summer' after talks held with East Bengal

* Manchester United held talks over playing East Bengal during pre-season tour
* Club would net £3million for fixture which would be their first game in India
* A four-man team led by Alan Dawson visited the club at the end of last year

Manchester United are in talks over holding a first-ever match in India during their pre-season tour this summer.

The club have discussed playing a friendly fixture against East Bengal on July 26, with a possible payday of £3million if the club find new sponsors.

A four-man delegation of Man United officials, led by director of football operations Alan Dawson, travelled to Kolkata last year in an attempt to negotiate a deal.

Manchester United's first-team stars could be visiting India as part of their pre-season tour

The Indian club would host the game at the Yuvabharati Krirancan Stadium to coincide with their centenary celebrations on August 1.

East Bengal director Debabrata Sarkar said: 'We had a meeting. We are trying our best to make the Manchester United match happen, and we will see what possibilities we can explore.

'They are ready to play here, but their appearance fee is huge. I cannot tell the amount, but it is something we need to consider.

'Manchester United are happy, and have submitted a report after their inspection.

'After May we can decide whether they will play here or not. As of now we are busy finding new sponsors.'

Wah ke Asia Selatan nih United, kalau ke Asia Timur sepertinya masih menanti perkembangan virus Corona karena biasanya China selalu menjadi tujuan setiap United menggelar tur ke Asia. Nah Indonesia ? Kita tunggu saja deh (pokoknya jangan terlalu berharap) :P
