Gary Neville belongs to an elite group of players who have skippered the Reds to Premier League title glory.

Following on from Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane, Neville realised a lifelong dream as he became the fifth United captain to lift the Premier League trophy following the Reds' record ninth triumph at the end of the 2006/07 campaign.

Neville himself had missed the final stages of that season, having suffered ankle ligament damage just 11 minutes into the visit of Bolton to Old Trafford on 17 March 2007. The same injury kept the Reds’ skipper out for most of the 2007/2008 season but even when unable to influence matters directly on the pitch, you can be sure his presence is felt in the dressing room and from the stands. Nobody wants United to win more than Gary Neville.

The defender, who has made more than 550 appearances in a United shirt, was handed the armband during the 2005/06 season following Roy Keane’s departure. Being one of United’s most consistent and committed performers since establishing himself in the side in 1994/95 at the expense of Paul Parker, Neville was a natural choice.

He enters every game refusing to contemplate defeat, and the fans love him for it. His heart-on-his-sleeve approach doesn't endear him to everyone, however. His badge-clenching, fist-pumping celebration following Rio Ferdinand’s last-minute winner against Liverpool at Old Trafford in January 2006, for example, saw him charged with improper conduct by the FA and fined £5000.

“Are you meant to smile sweetly and jog back to the halfway line?” he protested at the time. "People want footballers to be whiter than white. Do they want a game of robots?" And that about sums up Neville's passion for the game and, more importantly, United.

There was no such censure for Gary’s next high-profile celebration - at the 2006 Carling Cup Final. He lifted his first trophy as captain and collected the one domestic medal that had eluded him in his career. The Reds had not won the competition since April 1992, when Gary was in the famous youth team that also spawned David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

Ever since those days, Neville's character and determination hasn't altered. "His performance level and drive has never changed," says Sir Alex. "It's more obvious in Gary because he never had the talent of Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes, but he had determination to make sure he was always in the team.

"He also showed that quality to come back after a year and a half out with injuries recently," adds the boss. "We all had concerns that maybe he wasn’t going to come back - at his age, it isn’t easy. But he’s been absolutely fantastic. It’s a demonstration by Gary that he’s never going to give in. He’s an amazing man."

Gary has had to cope with adversity in the latter stages of his career, most recently missing out on a place in the Champions League final squads for the win over Chelsea in 2008, and the defeat to Barcelona in 2009. But he steadfastly refuses to give in.

And that's why the Bury-born right-back earned a contract extension until June 2010 in February 2009. Neville is as loyal a servant as you could hope to have, and in an age where players rarely stay put for long he is among a dying breed of one-club men. "United is the only club I've ever wanted to play for," he says.

Vocal and single-minded, the Reds skipper has all the attributes and characteristics of a great leader of men; Gary gives his all in every game, demanding the same from his team-mates. No excuses.

Re: Gary neville

Semangat Neville Belum Redup

Perilaku Neville Akan Dijadikan Panutan

http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs/584...mb_300_225.jpg

Versi Inggrisnya dikit...

Redknapp salutes Neville

Harry Redknapp takes his Tottenham side to Preston in the Carling Cup tonight urging them to show the same passion for their club as Gary Neville does for Manchester United. Neville’s controversial celebrations after United won the derby on Sunday have been
condemned by the FA, but Redknapp said: "Look at the excitement Neville showed and he was only a sub. He was jumping higher than Fergie. I remember losing at Bolton last year and looking at our bench — two of them were asleep with hats pulled down and blankets over them. I said, “It’s hard for 30 grand a week” and “Sorry for dragging you away from your missus”. United’s players don’t sit there feeling down. It’s something they develop, the mentality is brilliant."

gue tambahin dikit lg versi englishnya yah panda...

Harry Redknapp has spoken out about the difference between United players and the rest of the league in terms of their desire to see their team succeed, regardless of whether they’re playing or not.

“That’s why United are where they are,” said Redknapp. “They are a team and they are all together. Gary Neville has won everything there is to win but you look at the excitement he showed at his team winning, when he wasn’t even in the team. He wasn’t sitting on the bench with his arms folded. He was jumping higher than Fergie. When we played United at White Hart Lane the week before, my coaches, Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand, were in the stands along with the United boys who weren’t subs. They were jumping up and down at every decision and again when they scored their goals. That winning mentality goes right through the club. Gibson and all the other boys wanted to play but they also have those feelings that they showed. There are not many clubs where you get that. It’s something you’d like to develop. It’s hard to change some people but that’s what makes winning teams. I thought it was amazing to see Neville’s feelings show and the joy he had at winning.”

Neville Tidak Berniat Mengejek Fans City

http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs/584...mb_300_225.jpg

Re: Gary neville

Neville not focused on England

http://img.skysports.com/09/07/218x2...le_2327031.jpg

Gary Neville believes his England career could be over having been overlooked for another England squad by Fabio Capello.

The Italian instead prefers the 34-year-old's Manchester United team-mate Wes Brown as understudy to first choice right-back Glen Johnson.

The defender has endured an injury plagued two seasons at Old Trafford and has not played for his country since the 1-0 defeat to Spain at the Theatre of Dreams in 2007.

However Neville received a somewhat surprising call-up for the World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra last June but failed to add to his 85 caps.

"To be honest, I am not looking at an England return," he told United Review.

"The time has probably come for Glen Johnson or Wes Brown now. They have done very well and I think they are the first-choice players.

"It doesn't mean I would turn down the opportunity if it came but it is not something I am focusing on."

Neville made his England debut in 1995 against Japan and has played in two World Cups and three European Championships over the years.

Manchester United defender Gary Neville caught up in Anfield cop row after Liverpool defeat

Manchester United defender Gary Neville was involved in a heated touchline row with a senior police officer and a Liverpool steward in the aftermath of their 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, it has emerged.

The argument was sparked after Neville, an unused substitute, was told to warm down elsewhere amid safety concerns in the stadium as he and team-mate Jonny Evans went through their post-match fitness routine in front of their own fans.

Red midst: Gary Neville (L) argues with a senior police officer after he and team-mate Jonny Evans are told to stop his warm down after the final whistle at Anfield

As the conversation between the United club captain and Reds steward continued, a police officer finally intervened to forcibly instruct Neville to follow order and move away from the temporarily detained away section, according to a report in The Sun.

Angry Neville, 34, eventually departed before the situation could escalate further but it is the latest incident in a long line of controversies involving the England full-back.

The veteran defender is regarded as a hero among United followers for his anti-Anfield outbursts, notably in January 2006 for his over-zealous celebration in front of the Reds faithful after a last-minute winner against Liverpool at Old Trafford, which earned him a £5,000 fine from the FA and a warning over his future conduct.

And on Sunday, Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant Mike Phelan had to tell Neville to return to his seat in the dug-out to avoid landing the player in further trouble after he launched a series of complaints towards match officials.

Neville was issued another waning from The FA in relation to inciteful behaviour after celebrating United's injury-time win in front of City fans during the Manchester derby.

Re: Gary neville

Fabio Capello set to hand Gary Neville surprise England recall

Manchester United veteran Gary Neville is being considered for his first England appearance in nearly three years against Brazil later this month.

England manager Fabio Capello is looking at Neville and United team-mate Wes Brown to fill the problem right-back position if first-choice Glen Johnson of Liverpool fails to recover from injury in time for the friendly in Doha on November 14.

Capello is alarmed at the lack of cover at right-back and has even been forced to use winger Shaun Wright-Phillips there in recent England training sessions.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/...47_468x373.jpg

Give us a hand: Neville is on Capello's radar

Neville, 34, has suffered a catalogue of injuries since winning his 85th England cap in February 2007 but has returned strongly this season. And club manager Sir Alex Ferguson thinks it is wise for Capello to consider his World Cup prospects. Ferguson said:

'I am not surprised at all. He [Capello] has not got great options at right-back. Gary offers experience and his quality has not been diminished.

'His performance level has been very good when he's come into the team. He has not lost momentum, rhythm or energy.

'He has had a hard time in the last three years with injuries. He has survived because he is Gary Neville. He has a great desire to carry on.'

Neville has impressed for United after missing nearly two years with an ankle and other muscular injuries. He was suspended for last night's game but is set to face CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford on Tuesday when United could book their Champions League knockout place.

Neville, who has been named by Capello in one squad this season, is set to be joined for the Brazil trip by uncapped Sunderland defender Andy Turner as Capello assesses his options at centre-half.

But the England boss faces a quandary over goalkeeper Ben Foster, who has lost his first team place at United to Edwin van der Sar and is likely to find his playing opportunities limited.

Neville: Performa MU Paling Hebat di Musim Ini

http://www.kompas.com/data/photo/200...5/1423346p.jpg

MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.COM - Gary Neville mengaku sangat bahagia bisa memulai memulai musim ini bersama Manchester United. Meski performanya bersama "Red Devils" mendapat banyak kritikan, toh ia santai saja.

"Kami sukses lolos final Piala Carling.

Re: Gary neville

Gary Neville taunts Liverpool as Manchester United veteran blasts: You deserved to be booted out of the Champions League

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/...44_306x385.jpg

Gary Neville has taunted arch rivals Liverpool by insisting they deserved to be dumped out of the Champions League.

The Merseyside giants are coming to terms with being knocked out this week. Liverpool beat Debrecen on Tuesday but poor results earlier in the campaign meant Fiorentina's win over Lyon sealed their exit.

Is Benitez the man to save Liverpool? Liverpool suffered a humiliating early exit from the Champions League on Tuesday night as their season goes from bad to worse. The Reds are already well off the pace in the race for the Barclays Premier League but the board insist he will not be sacked. Is Rafa the man to save the club, or should someone else be brought in?

Manchester United veteran Neville, who has openly admitted his hatred towards Liverpool, reckons they only have themselves to blame.

The nature of the group system means Liverpool could end up with exactly the same number of points as United, who lost their 23-match unbeaten home record in the competition to Besiktas on Wednesday night.

Indeed, the Red Devils could lose to Wolfsburg in Germany next month and still finish top of Group B if CSKA Moscow beat Besiktas to complete a three-way tie United will edge.

'As a team, you get what you deserve don't you?' said Neville. 'We are where we are because we deserve to be there and it's the same with Liverpool.

'We went out ourselves a few years back. They just haven't performed well enough in the Champions League to get the results.'

Not that Neville is spending too much time gloating. He understands United should have beaten Besiktas given their dominance of possession.

Instead, Besiktas took the spoils thanks to Rodrigo Tello's first-half effort, the hosts' young strikeforce unable to fashion a reply despite carving out a succession of chances and Michael Owen failing to do any better when he was introduced late on.

'I am extremely disappointed,' said Neville. 'We didn't convert our chances and didn't do enough in the last third.

'Their goal set us back a little bit. It gave them something to hang on to but usually we would expect to score a goal in 95 minutes at Old Trafford. We just didn't manage it.'

Neville was at least able to get some match action under his belt after being forced to complete a three-game suspension for his dismissal in the Carling Cup win at Barnsley.

There may still be some who feel the 34-year-old is not the force of old. But his experience is vital, especially in such a young starting line-up and with injuries placing major doubts over Jonny Evans and John O'Shea for Saturday's trip to Portsmouth, Neville is expected to keep his place at Fratton Park.

'I have been fit through the period I have been suspended so it has been frustrating,' he said. 'I would have liked to come back into a winning team but we have to move on. We have a game on Saturday and we have to pick ourselves up and get a win there.'

Neville: Liverpool Pantas Tersingkir

http://www.kompas.com/data/photo/200...5/1423346p.jpg

(AP)

Manchester United captain Gary Neville has urged Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad to focus all their efforts on overhauling Chelsea’s five point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Old Trafford veteran believes the club must be in a position to overtake Carlo Ancelotti’s side by the end of January, and with international commitments out of the way for the time being, Neville suggested Manchester United must be the be all and end all for the foreseeable future.

Neville told The Daily Mirror: “This place is an institution, a religion, and it needs dealing with in its own right every week,”

“You can't be focusing on other things. You get found out quickly here if you get distracted.”

“We're here to win titles every season and the fact we've got 18 is irrelevant. If we had 15, we'd want 16. We have 18 so we want 19.”

“Now the internationals are out of the way we can focus on what we have to do here.”

“We've got to position ourselves better come January and February – because that's when the real charge starts.”

Neville, famed for the work ethic and personal drive that took the right-back from the United youth side to the top of the world game, has called Old Trafford a ‘tough school’ for youngsters trying to make it at Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

“You don’t get too much said to you by the senior players, to be honest. You have to do it yourself,” United’s captain told The Daily Mirror.

“You do get help on the pitch, but it’s a tough school here and you’ve got to make your own mark. As a young player you’ve got to take your opportunities when they come along.

“The young players know the expectations. The fans let you know what those are. The manager does, too. You are surrounded by it all the time at Old Trafford.”

United’s younger players including Federico Macheda, Danny Welbeck, Darron Gibson, Gabriel Obertan, Anderson and the da Silva brothers will play against Tottenham in the Carling Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford tomorrow night. But there are concerns over the attitude of some young players – particularly Macheda, who allegedly had a training ground confrontation with Anderson.

“This place is an institution, a religion, and it needs dealing with in its own right every week,” Neville added.

“You can’t be focusing on other things. You get found out quickly here if you get distracted. We’re here to win titles every season and the fact we’ve got 18 is irrelevant. If we had 15, we’d want 16. We have 18 so we want 19.”

Neville Dicibir Juri Reality Show

http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs2/20...ey_300_225.jpg

GARY NEVILLE: TITLE RACE STILL ON
-dailystar.co.uk-

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/...eville-001.jpg

GARY NEVILLE says recent results prove that the Premier League title race will be one of the most open for years.

The Manchester United skipper said: “I’ve been saying all along that it’s not a two-horse race – it can change so quickly.

“We’ve dropped points, Chelsea have dropped points, and it can close up at the top very quickly.”

United crashed to their fifth defeat – boss Sir Alex Ferguson always reckons that is the limit if a team is to take the title – at Fulham on Saturday.

And leaders Chelsea failed to cash in by only drawing with West Ham on Sunday.

With Liverpool’s title hopes in tatters, the top of the table is taking on a different look and Neville reckons there are new challengers whose threat is real.

“I think the Premier League is getting stronger, with teams like Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and

Villa spending a lot of money,” Neville said.

“But it’s always been the case that all teams can beat one another in England.”

That fact was underlined by Fulham’s second home victory over United in successive seasons, and Neville admitted: “We didn’t expect to lose against Aston Villa last week, but we have to hand it to Villa, first and foremost.

“It’s hard to say at this early stage if Villa could challenge for the league. They don’t have the pedigree of winning championships, but that’s not to say they can’t last the distance. They are in a good position at the moment."

Manchester United ace Gary Neville tells Chelsea to stop moaning about African stars
-mirrorfootball.co.uk-

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/matc...y+Neville.jpeg

Gary Neville has told Chelsea they will have no right to whinge and complain when they lose players to next month's African Nations Cup.

Premier League leaders Chelsea are set to lose Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel for up to a month when the competition gets under way.

That could give Manchester United a major advantage in overhauling Chelsea at the top of the table and skipper Neville said he had no sympathy for the plight of the Blues.

"Chelsea were aware when they signed those players that they might be called up every few years for the African Nations Cup, so they can't complain about it," said Neville.

"Up to 31 Premier League players will soon be off to the African Nations Cup, but the fact that we've got no African players at the moment means it doesn't bother us.

"I've heard talk about aligning that competition with the rest of the football calendar and it would be sensible to do so.

"Chelsea will lose some big players like Didier Drogba and Michael Essien, but I don't expect them to struggle.

"They will only lose their players for three or four Premier League games. We've lost seven defenders to injuries this month."

United have stuttered in the pursuit of Chelsea, with a comfortable win over Wolves at Old Trafford sandwiched by defeats to Aston Villa and Fulham.

Such inconsistent form has thrown the title race wide open, with Villa - who have won their last four Premier League games - right in contention.

Neville admitted United's 1-0 defeat to Villa at Old Trafford was a major wake-up call and conceded this season's title race could be the most open for years.

"We didn't expect to lose at home to Villa, but we have to hand it to Villa first and foremost," said Neville.

"There's no point making excuses when we lose a match, particularly when the opposing team do really well.

"We missed chances in the match and we've had lots of injuries, but you can't take anything away from Villa. They have great pace and gave us a difficult afternoon.

"It's difficult to say at this early stage if Villa could challenge for the league. They don't have the pedigree of winning championships, but that's not to say they can't last the distance.

"They're in a good position at the moment, they got another good result in midweek and they certainly have a good young team.

"It's whether they can sustain it over the next five months - right up there. I've been saying all along that it's not a two-horse race - it can change so quickly.

"We've dropped points, Chelsea have dropped points and it can close up at the top very quickly.

"I think the Premier League is getting stronger, with teams like Manchester City, Tottenham and Villa spending a lot of money.

"But it's always been the case that all teams can beat one another in England. There are reasons for every loss.

"There's a chance of losing to Chelsea and Liverpool every season because those games can go 50-50.

"Against Burnley we got caught in a cup-tie atmosphere in the second game of the season and we weren't ready for it.

"And against Villa we weren't at our best and we are having a real rough patch with defensive injuries."

Neville also leapt to the defence of Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, who was criticised with fielding a weakened side in his team's 3-0 defeat at United last week.

McCarthy made 10 changes with a view to fielding his strongest possible line-up against Burnley at the weekend, a game Wolves won 2-0.

And Neville said the likes of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had no right to critcise McCarthy for picking the team he did at Old Trafford.

"Mick McCarthy has taken some stick for fielding a weakened team against us in midweek, but that's the prerogative of a manager," said Neville.

"He has the whole season to think about. It's wrong for people with big squads like Arsene Wenger to criticise Wolves when they have a different agenda.

"Wenger doesn't know what's going on at Wolves, neither do we, and Wolves should be able to prioritise what game to play each player in.

"Clubs have squads so they can rotate players. It's not for anyone to criticise - Wolves can decide what they want to do.

"They can go and play their youth team next week if they want - it's entirely up to them."

Jangan, dong... Dia emang udah lama banget sering cedera, tapi motivasinya masih dibutuhin United. Kalo perlu, dikontrak dengan bayarannya dihitung tiap main kayak Michael Owen aja. He's a true Red :devil2:...

Manchester United defender Gary Neville to retire at end of the season
-imscouting.com-

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/matc...y+Neville.jpeg

Veteran Manchester United right back Gary Neville is set to hang up his boots at the end of the campaign, according to a report in The Sun this morning.

The former England defender is out of contract in June and Manchester United will not be offering Nevilla a new deal.

The 34-year-old has struggled with injury over the last two years but will be recalled as a Manchester United legend having played 583 matches for the first team over a period of 18 years at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to Neville: “He never had the talent of Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes but he had determination to make sure he was always in the team. He also showed that quality to come back after a year and a half out with injuries recently. At his age, it isn't easy. But he's been absolutely fantastic. It's a demonstration by Gary that he's never going to give in. He's an amazing man."

This season, Gary Neville has played nine games for Manchester United in the Premier League and Champions League. He has provided two assists and been booked once.

Will Manchester United's Gary Neville be missed?
-telegraph.co.uk-

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/m...p_1554758c.jpg

If Gary Neville does retire at the end of the season, will you be sad to see him go?

Neville, like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, has played his entire career for Manchester United after coming through the youth system. But unlike that venerated duo, Neville remains wildly unpopular with many fans around the countryside, particularly on Merseyside.

His most famous quote – "I can't stand Liverpool, I can't stand Liverpool people, I can't stand anything to do with them," – cemented his reputation as United's chief Scouse-baiter, a role he has revelled in. His attitude towards Manchester City is similarly partisan, and while many United fans love him for it, others have found Neville's more aggressive pronouncements as slightly cringeworthy coming for a player from a nice family in Bury.

When Neville does retire, he will do so as one of the most decorated players in the history of English football, having won 16 major honours, including two Champions Leagues. He has also won 85 England caps and played in three World Cup finals.

But did his position as a United player – and his close relationship with David Beckham – advance his cause ahead of more deserving players? And has his attitude only incited more bad blood between rival players and supporters?

Or do you think football needs more Gary Nevilles – one-club men who wear their heart on their sleeves – and less "robots"?

Telegraph Football Correspondent Henry Winter has had his say on Twitter this morning, posting: "Greak work ethic but I'm not sure football will miss Gary Neville that much if he retires. Too bolshy. Anyway, Red Nev looks bound for the PFA."

Gary Neville's dilemma over new one-year Manchester United contract at Old Trafford

By Chris Wheeler
Last updated at 12:24 AM on 08th January 2010

Gary Neville could extend his career at Old Trafford after it emerged on Thursday night that Manchester United have offered their captain a new one-year deal.

Despite speculation that Neville would not be offered an extension, Sportsmail can reveal that it is the player who is unsure whether or not to prolong his stay at the club into a 19th year.

United have tabled the same one-year deal they have already agreed with Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, and talks are planned for next month, when Neville will turn 35.
Gary Neville

Decision time: Gary Neville is contemplating a one-year extension at Old Trafford

Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to retain the defender’s experience and leadership skills as United go through a period of transition, but wants to be satisfied his body can withstand another season at the top.

Although he has made 583 first-team appearances and has five Premier League, two Champion League, three FA Cup and a League Cup winners medals, Neville has struggled for form and fitness since suffering an ankle injury in a tackle with Bolton midfielder Gary Speed at Old Trafford in March 2007.

Having missed almost the entire 2007-08 season, he looked to have revived his career after playing 27 games last season.

However, Neville’s lack of pace has been exposed on occasion, and he was one of several United players singled out for criticism after the shocking FA Cup defeat by Leeds on Sunday, when he returned to the starting side after a month’s lay-off.

It sparked renewed speculation that this season could be Neville’s last as a United player, and it is still possible he will decide he can no longer do himself justice at the highest level.

He faced a similar decision a year ago but chose to stay, saying leaving United would be like ‘falling off a cliff’.

He appears to have slipped behind Rafael da Silva and Wes Brown in the battle for the right-back slot, although the United injury crisis this season has given his cause a boost and seen midfielder Darren Fletcher filling in at the back as well.

Rafael and his brother Fabio are among the young players Ferguson is trying to integrate into his team, and the United boss wants his skipper to stay so he can share his knowledge and help instil the winning mentality he has built up over years of success with his only club.

With Nemanja Vidic’s future uncertain amid speculation he will leave for Spain in the summer, and no guarantee Edwin van der Sar will extend his career by another year, Ferguson would be loath to lose another experienced player.

Vidic, who pulled out of the Leeds game just before kick-off, trained away from the rest of the first-team squad yesterday and took part in rehabilitation work with Rio Ferdinand.

Senegal striker Mame Biram Diouf trained with his new team-mates after receiving a work permit to complete his move from Norwegian club Molde.

United have rearranged their League game against Hull at Old Trafford for the free FA Cup date on Saturday, January 23.

Gary Neville faces FA probe over Carlos Tevez 'insult'

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/898.$plit/C...A08%3A24%3A499

GARY Neville faces a possible FA investigation over an alleged obscene gesture towards Carlos Tevez.

The United defender appeared to make a one-finger insult during City's 2-1 Carling Cup semi-final first leg victory.

Neville reacted angrily to his former team-mate's celebrations as Tevez' derby double, who put Roberto Mancini's side within 90 minutes of Wembley at the expense of United.

The Football Association said they were “looking into” the incident, which was caught on camera.

Neville was warming up on the touchline as Tevez celebrated following his first half penalty, which cancelled out Ryan Giggs' opener.

The Argentine appeared to gesture towards Neville, who had claimed pre-match that Sir Alex Ferguson was correct to let the striker leave Old Trafford last summer.

Neville's response triggered more taunts from Tevez and the FA have confirmed they will look at the matter before deciding whether to take any further action.

Mancini has told Tevez to fire City to Wembley with another match-winning display at Old Trafford next week.

Strike

Tevez's strikes – one from the spot and another with his head – were particularly sweet for Blues fans, who delighted in goading Ferguson last night, chanting: “Fergie, sign him up.”

And Mancini believes the former United star can inflict even more pain on Fergie's men with a repeat show next Wednesday.

“I hope Carlos can play the same in the second game and score another goal,” said the Italian. “But it is more important for us to win the game and get to the final. We know we have a difficult game.

“Carlos played a big game. He was very, very good and scored two goals. But I think the squad played very well to recover from going 1-0 down.

“I'm very happy for Carlos because he is an ex-United player – but it was more important to score two goals in an important game. United had three or four chances but, in Shay Given, we have one of the best goalkeepers.”

Tevez's double earned him the man of match award and took his total to 13 goals in 11 starts for City this season.

It was also the perfect response to Ferguson, who was accused of driving the striker out of Old Trafford by failing to give him enough first-team chances last term.

But Mancini refused to stoke the fire when asked if United had made a mistake by allowing the former fan favourite to leave.

"We are very happy because he plays for us, but United have some big players like Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Dimitar Berbatov. They are all very good players. But Carlos is a top, top player.”

And City's Gareth Barry believes Tevez was destined to score.

"Obviously the talk was about Carlos before the game and he did his talking on the pitch with a great performance,” said the midfielder. “That's the way it's written sometimes and the way Carlos works, he deserves it."

kalo diusut yah diliat dulu pemicunya apa dunk? kalo si Tevez pas selebrasi gol 1gak 'panasin' si Gary kan gak mungkin dia juga membalas. trus gol ke-2 dia juga merayakannya di depan pendukung MU, berarti sama lah ama Adebayor, hanya tidak 'separah' Adebayor aja.
kalo mo dihukum/denda silahkan aja, bagi gw Gary tetap Setan Merah sejati

Hmmm...
