Nilai United Mencapai Rekor 3 Miliar Dollar

Bola.net - Manchester United mengukir rekor baru dengan menjadi tim olahraga pertama yang nilainya mencapai 3 miliar dolar. Penilaian ini diberikan oleh majalah bisnis ternama Amerika, Forbes.

United berada jauh di atas peringkat kedua yang dihuni tim NFL Dallas Cowboys yang berharga 2,1 miliar dolar. Tingginya nilai United dipengaruhi oleh harga saham mereka yang terus merangkak naik.

Menurut analisis Forbes, saham United di pasar saham New York mengalami peningkatan karena banyaknya deal sponsorship yang didapat klub. United memang memiliki ikatan kontrak sponsor bersama Kansai, China Construction Bank dan Chevrolet serta masih banyak lainnya.

Pada awalnya, penjualan saham United sangat lesu ketika ditawarkan ke publik pada Agustus lalu. Namun dalam beberapa hari terakhir, harga saham itu melonjak setelah United mengumumkan kerjasama global dengan berbagai merk global.

Awalnya, selembar saham United dijual dengan harga 14 dolar, namun kini harganya sudah mencapai 17 dolar. Larisnya saham United membuat kekayaan keluarga Glazer yang merupakan pemilik saham Mayoritas di United juga bertambah. (tdm/hsw)

Manchester United have become the first sports team in the world with a $3billion (£1.9billion) valuation, according to American business magazine Forbes.

They come in first place just ahead of American Football franchise Dallas Cowboys, worth $2.1bn.

According to Forbes: ‘Despite a drop in first quarter earnings because of a reduction in television revenue, the appetite for shares of the 19-time English champion has increased due to better earnings, new sponsorship deals with Japan’s Kansai, and China Construction Bank, and the potential of much more lucrative English Premier League (Manchester United currently is in first place) and Champions League payouts this year.’

Shares in the Old Trafford club did badly at first when they were first offered to the public in August last year, but they have soared over the past few days with the announcements of a number of global sponsorship agreements.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are poised to overtake London powerhouses Arsenal and Chelsea to become the Barclays Premier League’s second-best club at making money.

The champions have surpassed the annual revenues of Tottenham and Liverpool by winning the title, and should move behind only neighbours United in the next two years if they maintain similar success.

The English Premier League's Manchester United F.C. has become the first franchise of any sport valued at $3 billion worldwide, according to a report by Mike Ozanian of Forbes on Monday.

Ozanian notes that the recent increase in stock price has pushed the club's value to over $3.3 billion in enterprise value, which factors in equity plus debt.

ESPN's Paul Carr noted how big the gap is between the Red Devils and the next highest-valued franchise, the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys:

The three-dollar increase since its initial public offering is a testament to how well Sir Alex Ferguson's club has performed this season—and the confidence inspired by having billionaire investor George Soros on board as a minority owner. Soros' net worth was estimated at approximately $19 billion in September of 2012, according to Forbes.

United sit atop the EPL table, five points ahead of crosstown rival Manchester City. The acquisition of Robin van Persie has bolstered the attack, as the exciting Red Devils lead the Premier League with 57 goals in just 23 matches in 2012-13.

After a recent victory in the FA Cup over Fulham, Ferguson proclaimed that this was the best team he has managed, according to Goal.com.

As Ozanian explains, United's stock dropped in the first quarter due to a decline in television revenue, but it has rebounded largely thanks to new sponsorship deals with Japanese paint manufacturer Kansai (via SportsProMedia.com) and China Construction Bank.

The Red Devils' stock should only improve should they win the EPL trophy and the Champions League this year—both of which would result in massive payouts and more publicity for the prolific club.

Singha deal extended


Manchester United’s official beer partner Singha has today announced it is to extend its sponsorship with the English Premier League leaders.

The original three-year sponsorship is to be extended by a further three years to 2016.

Manchester United commercial director Richard Arnold comments:

"Singha celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2013 and what better way to commemorate this than to renew our successful relationship. Manchester United is delighted to be keeping Singha within its family of sponsors and looking forward to building on the fantastic achievements the partnership has created so far.

"I am confident the next three years will be just as positive."

Sponsor baru lagi, meski ya bukan benar2 baru coz akan menggantikan DHL sebagai sponsor seragam latihan yang akan ditalak mulai musim depan. Nilai sponsor DHL buat jersey latihan sebelumnya sekitar 10jt pound semusim. Pastinya nilai sponsor yang baru nilainya lebih gede dibanding itu.

Ya moga Fergie kecipratan dikit duit sponsornya. Ya mungkin mo mecahin rekor berba di United :P

Man United reveal eight-year sponsorship deal for training kit as results improve both on and off the pitch

Manchester United revealed a new bumper sponsorship deal on the day it announced a huge rise in income and profits.

The Red Devils have signed a lucrative eight-year deal with an unnamed company to sponsor their training kit.

The club called an early halt to its existing £10m-a-year agreement with training kit partner DHL after July's record £25m-a-year deal to have the Chevrolet brand on its playing shirts for seven years showed the club it could aim higher.

Chevrolet's sponsorship begins in 2014. Until then, United will receive about £20 million a year to carry the name of US insurer Aon on the team's playing shirts.

The training kit deal will run for eight years from next season but the club was surprisingly coy about identifying the new backer at this stage.

'At the request of our new training kit partner, we have agreed to withhold further details pending a formal announcement,' vice chairman Ed Woodward told financial analysts on a conference call.

United’s Champions League run and new sponsorship deals have put the club on course for a bumper financial season.

The club today announced significant rises in income and profits for the three-month period ending December 2012.

Six new sponsorship deals have seen commercial revenues rise 29 per cent compared to the same period in 2011.

It puts United on course to put last year’s overall revenue fall - caused by early exits in the Champions League and FA Cup - behind them.

For the 2012-13 financial year United are now forecasting revenue to be '£350m to £360m' compared to £320m last year, which was 3.3 per cent down.

Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman said: 'Manchester United achieved record revenue... in the second quarter driven by our commercial operation, which continues to experience extremely strong growth particularly in sponsorship.'

The club’s gross debt has decreased by 16.1 per cent since June 30, 2012 to £436.9m.

United's wage bill is heading for an increase of more than 10 per cent in the 2012-13 financial year.

A statement said: 'Staff costs for the second quarter increased 14.2 per cent year on year to £44.2m, primarily due to new player signings, player wage increases and growth in commercial headcount. The six months year to date increase is 10.5 per cent year on year to £84.5m.'

In 2012, United's wage bill was £160m.
