MATCH PREVIEW: MANCHESTER UNITED V CHELSEA

When and where can I watch it? United's eagerly-awaited encounter against the Blues at Old Trafford on Easter Sunday will kick off at 16:00 BST and will be televised live in the UK on Sky Sports. Fans can also follow the action via ManUtd.com's live match blog and the club's Twitter account @ManUtd. MUTV subscribers can tune into Match Day Live from 15:00 BST for all the build-up to the game and then listen to live radio commentary, before watching the 90 minutes in full from midnight.

Set the scene for me… After the European excursion in Belgium, it's a quick turnaround and back to the bread and butter of the Premier League for the Reds this weekend, for what promises to be one of the toughest games of the campaign. Antonio Conte's Chelsea are already looking champions-elect, with a seven-point lead over second-placed Tottenham at the top of the table, and have been in formidable form for much of the season. United boss Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, will be hoping it's third time lucky against his former club, after experiencing two defeats against the Blues this term, as the Reds seek to maintain the pressure on our top-four rivals with eight league games remaining. United were boosted by Arsenal's 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Monday night and head into the weekend just one place and four points behind Manchester City, who currently occupy fourth position. As is usually the case when these two heavyweights collide, it promises to be another thrilling battle and the Reds will undoubtedly relish the challenge which awaits.

How are both sides doing? The Reds come into the contest on the back of Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first-leg draw against Anderlecht in Brussels and hold a slender advantage heading into next week's return tie at Old Trafford. Domestically, United boast an impressive record of 21 games unbeaten in the league since October's loss against Chelsea in the capital and moved up to fifth place after last weekend's morale-boosting 3-0 win at Sunderland. However, the Reds have found wins hard to come by at home in the league this term, drawing the last three games at the Theatre of Dreams. Chelsea, meanwhile, have bounced back from a surprise home defeat by Crystal Palace with impressive wins over Manchester City and Bournemouth and have only lost four of their 31 league games this term, with two of those defeats coming on the road against London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

Any early team news? The Reds could welcome back David De Gea in goal after the Spaniard missed the Sunderland game with a minor hip problem and Sergio Romero continued his run of playing in most of this season's Europa League ties against Anderlecht, when Antonio Valencia also returned after two games out. But Juan Mata misses out against his former club, while Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are also sidelined again through injury. Chelsea, meanwhile, have a clean bill of health and a full squad at their disposal.

Haven't we played Chelsea already? Yes, the Reds have already faced the Blues twice this season at Stamford Bridge but were on the losing side on both occasions. Jose Mourinho endured a difficult return to his former club with a 4-0 defeat in the league before the Reds were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the quarter-final stage last month following a narrow 1-0 loss, in which Ander Herrera was harshly sent off in the first half for a second yellow card.

How have we fared against the Blues in the past? The Reds have a good record overall against the west London outfit historically. Sunday's match will be the 177th meeting between the sides in all competitions and the Reds have won 75, drawn 49 and lost 52 so far. Chelsea have had the better of recent encounters, however, with the Reds looking for a first win over the Blues since October 2012. Last season's corresponding fixture at the Theatre of Dreams produced an entertaining contest, despite finishing goalless.

Who's the man in the middle? Bobby Madley is the referee for Sunday's game, with the Yorkshire-based official taking charge of his fourth United fixture of the season – all of which have come at Old Trafford, against Stoke City, Tottenham and Watford respectively. He will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Peter Kirkup, while Andre Marriner has been assigned to the role of fourth official.

Who else is playing this weekend? There is the usual full fixture list over the Easter weekend, spread over Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Here's the full programme…

Saturday 15 April (15:00 BST unless stated)
Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth (12:30 BST)
Crystal Palace v Leicester City

Kejutan... bisa menang lawan Chelsea. Gantian Chelsea yg diancam serangan balik. Duo Lingard dan Rashford bikin pertahanan Chelsea kewalahan.

Finally...MU bs menang lagi di Old Trafford...lawan Chelsea pula. Duet Lingard-Rashford bnr2 bikin pertahanan Chelsea hancur lebur,,bahkan Young yg udah kepala 3 juga masih okay speednya...sayang bgd tembakannya sering melenceng ke bangku penonton.
Ander Herrera...keren bgd golnya,,sepanjang pertandingan nempel Hazard tapi masih bisa golin. Mdh2'an next match di Old Trafford bs mantab lg pz lawan Anderlecht.

MOURINHO REACTS TO UNITED 2 CHELSEA 0

Jose Mourinho praised the fighting spirit of his Manchester United players following Sunday’s impressive, hard-fought 2-0 victory over Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera both scored vital goals in the lively triumph, yet it was unquestionably an impressive team performance and the significance of the success is huge. Here are the main points from the manager’s post-match interview with Sky Sports and MUTV…

TEAM SELECTION

Asked about the impact of fatigue on his starting XI, Mourinho hinted he was influenced more by tactics: “Maybe we didn’t rest. Maybe we just chose the team that we thought was the best team.”

REASONS BEHIND THE TACTICS
“We went to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup with same tactics and the game was totally controlled when we played with 11 players. Only the decision that made us play with 10 men for the second half, plus some minutes in the first half, gave Chelsea a chance to be dominant, but we knew that if we played this way then it would be very difficult for them.”

RASHFORD PLAYED FANTASTICALLY
“He played fantastically well. He also had a very good game at Stamford Bridge in the cup. He had exactly the same chance to score, even playing with 10 men in the second half, because he is faster than their defenders and he can get behind them. But today he scored and it was at the beginning of the match, which gave the team more confidence and stability. So it was very important and the kid played fantastically well.”

POSITIVE WORDS FOR HERRERA

Ander was harshly sent off in the FA Cup quarter-final tie at Stamford Bridge last month, but the Spaniard was magnificent on Sunday and scored a vital second-half goal. “He had a tough time because the referee in that match [the cup tie] created a problem. The performance was very similar today, the team played in a similar way, but the difference was we had 11 players for 90 minutes.”

HAPPY FOR THE BOYS
“I think everyone did what they had to do. Everybody fought really hard. Bailly and Rojo, I think they deserve a special mention because they have played in absolutely every game, non-stop, since the injuries of Smalling and Jones. But I am really happy with the team and the results, because the Manchester City and Liverpool results left us in the position of needing to win. Not even a draw would be a good result for us, so I am really happy for the boys and for us because we keep two windows open to try to play Champions League football.”

WE’LL FIGHT ON BOTH FRONTS

“I cannot yet give up the Premier League. We have to try and if one day we are in the Europa League and in the Premier League the distance is too big, then we have to prioritise and nobody can criticise us if in the last matches of the league we do it in a different way. But while it is mathematically possible, we have to go with everything we have.”

RASHFORD, HERRERA THRILLED TO BEAT CHELSEA

Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera were delighted after their goals helped Manchester United defeat Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, with the latter describing the team's display as "almost perfect".

Rashford gave United a dream start when he latched onto Herrera's through-ball and slotted past Asmir Begovic in the seventh minute, before Herrera doubled the Reds' advantage with a deflected shot just before the hour mark.

Both men were pleased to avenge last month's defeat to Antonio Conte's side in the Emirates FA Cup, when United were well in the game until Herrera's harsh dismissal.

The Spaniard told Sky Sports: "I think it was almost perfect. You cannot say it was perfect because you always have some things to improve but defensively it was perfect; they’re top of the table but didn’t have any chances.

"On the counter-attack we hurt them but we played football as well; we controlled the game. I think we can be very happy."

Rashford added: "We went there earlier in the season in the cup and we had a gameplan. We were unfortunate to go down to 10 men but we kept working and sticking at it.

"Here today, it took a lot of discipline to carry out the same actions and get the result, but we all stuck at it and thankfully we got the goals."

Herrera, who was named our Man of the Match with 74 per cent of the votes on our Twitter page, was over the moon to finally end his personal goal drought.

"I’ve been looking for a goal for over a year," he admitted. "For a long time, something always happened – crossbar, saves from the keeper. Today I was a bit lucky but we deserved this victory. We controlled the game and created more chances than them."

In a side that featured four changes from Thursday night's Europa League game against Anderlecht, Rashford came in for top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack and put in an excellent performance, but the striker insisted it was solely a team effort.

The 19-year-old said: "It’s not so much stepping up to the plate [in Zlatan’s absence] because we’re a team and missing one player doesn’t cancel out everything we’ve worked on throughout the week. Everyone grafts together and puts in the work to get the result."

The win stretched United's unbeaten run in the league to 22 matches and, with the side still battling for the top four and progressing in the Europa League, Rashford stressed the importance of keeping up the good performances.

"To be honest, I am not paying much attention to the other teams," the England man told MUTV. "At this stage of the season, if we win all our games then we are going to find ourselves in the top four and that is how we have to approach the games.

"From now, we have to kick on even more. Every game is going to get more and more difficult; other teams are going to want it more and we will want it more, so we just have to go and get the results."

The home fans created an electrifying atmosphere throughout the game and Rashford added: "It is easy to create that atmosphere today: it was a big game, we got an early goal and that makes a difference. But it is always a good atmosphere here. They have to keep pushing us and we have to keep pushing them."

JOSE'S SPECIAL MENTION FOR BAILLY AND ROJO

Jose Mourinho was pleased with all of his Manchester United players in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea, yet the boss highlighted centre-backs Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo for special praise.

The two defenders were genuinely excellent from start to finish as they registered an impressive clean sheet against the Premier League leaders, who have notably scored 65 goals in total this campaign. Diego Costa has netted 17 of those, yet the physical Spaniard was left visibly frustrated at Old Trafford.

Although Bailly and Rojo narrowly missed out on being nominated for the club’s official Man of the Match award by MUTV pundit Ron Atkinson - who opted for scorers Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera, plus Ashley Young - the pair were later singled out by an appreciative Mourinho in his post-match interviews.

“I think everyone did what they had to do,” the boss told Sky Sports at the final whistle on Sunday. “Everybody fought really hard. Bailly and Rojo, I think they deserve a special mention because they have played in absolutely every game, non-stop, since the injuries of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.

“But I am really happy with the team and the results, because the Manchester City and Liverpool results on Saturday left us in the position of needing to win.

“Not even a draw would be a good result for us, so I am really happy for the boys and for us because we keep two windows open to try to play Champions League football next season.”

The next challenge for Bailly and Rojo is to recover in time for Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Anderlecht, which is the club’s sixth of nine matches scheduled across April.

Hahaha...
Banyak yg pesimis ketika ngeliat starting lineupnya MU, termasuk saya. :D
MotM nya nih Herrera.
Selamat buat Mou dan Pasukannya.
Tadi malem United menang, bukan menang beruntung, tapi menang dengan cara yg elegan, menang berkelas. ;)

Berikutnya tandang ke burnley dan tetangga berisik. Semoga bisa dapetin 6 poin di sana. Amin. :)

OPINION: UNITED'S BEST DISPLAY OF THE SEASON
Report by Ryan Grant

It was an afternoon when everything went right for Manchester United.

Two goals, three points, and countless standout performances to boot. And all against league leaders Chelsea, a team who the Reds previously hadn't beaten in the top flight since 2012. Sunday's 2-0 win over the Blues at Old Trafford was significant for a number of reasons; ultimately, it has kept one door ajar and blown another wide open. It's a victory which leaves Jose Mourinho's men firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish, and the Premier League title race back in the balance.

Going into the game, a few eyebrows were raised at the sight of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's absence from the starting line-up. United's top scorer admitted to me in midweek that he'd felt tired during the Europa League draw against Anderlecht in Brussels, and was given a rest as a result. It meant Marcus Rashford had the responsibility of leading the line, as he did to good effect when the sides met at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup quarter-finals last month, and the youngster didn't disappoint here. Far from it.

There were just eight minutes on the clock when the striker fired beyond Asmir Begovic to put the Reds ahead and kick-start a party atmosphere that would last throughout the remainder of the 90 minutes. It was almost immediately clear that it was going to be our day.

Also named on the teamsheet was Ander Herrera, the man who was (perhaps harshly) sent off when receiving two yellow cards during that last visit to west London, and it was the Spaniard's superb pass that set Rashford away for the opener. Herrera's performance in particular was a microcosm of the team's as a whole - United's Man of the Match was hungry, energetic and, most importantly, clinical when it mattered. The Theatre of Dreams erupted as the midfielder added a second just four minutes into the second half, with a goal that enhanced his status as a fan favourite even further.

Make no mistake, though, this was a collective display. Marcos Rojo and Eric Bailly represented an impenetrable combination at the heart of the defence, with Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba outplaying Blues duo N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic in front of them. As Rashford put it after the game, it was a disciplined performance, one which didn't even allow for a shot on target from the visitors.

Goalscoring statistics are often used to highlight a side's strengths and weaknesses but, with this latest clean sheet, our defence has conceded just 24 goals since August, a number bettered only by Tottenham. Of course, draws have been the source of some frustration, but they have also contributed to what is now a 22-match unbeaten run, stretching back to our previous league meeting with Chelsea in October.

On social media, supporters described Sunday's win as a tactical masterclass from Mourinho, and rightly so. The Reds returned from Belgium in the early hours of Friday morning, but looked as fresh as ever, despite having played 52 games to Chelsea's 39 before kick-off. "It was about character; everything worked really well for us," the boss told MUTV, when asked how he motivated his side for the quick turnaround.

Yes, it's easy to get carried away in the aftermath of such an important win, but this was a showing that merited the praise, especially given our midweek endeavours. The Reds put four past Leicester on home soil back in September, and later Feyenoord and Fenerbahce, but this was a day when everything clicked against a team many expect will go on to claim the title, and a display that was a clear message to our Premier League rivals. Indeed, this was our best performance of the season so far, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

The views expressed in this article are personal to the author and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Manchester United.

Kan Chelsea nggak parkir bus. Coba parkir bus ala West Brom dijamin United bakal pusing sendiri. :)) Masalahnya musim ini United sering buntu klo lawan klub yang main ala parkir bus. Coba main terbuka, nasibnya akan sama seperti Sunderland.

Re: [EPL] Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea

Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea - PLAYER RATINGS: Ander Herrera is Jose Mourinho's all-action man while Marcus Rashford inspires up front

* Marcus Rashford troubled Chelsea's defence with his pace and clever movement
* Ander Herrera a star in midfield, scoring as well as man-marking Eden Hazard
* Diego Costa appeared to surrender after being wound up by Marcos Rojo

Jose Mourinho reminded Chelsea of his tactical genius as Manchester United blew the Premier League title race wide open with a deserved win.

Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal in the first half before Ander Herrera doubled it with a deflected effort in the second.

Sportsmail reporter Alex Martin rates how both sets of players performed at Old Trafford on Easter Sunday.

Manchester United (4-3-3)

David De Gea - 6.5

Had very little to do in the game but always looked ready to spring into action.

Antonio Valencia - 6.5

Was given the day off by Marcos Alonso's late withdrawal. Untroubled by Cesar Azpilicueta and, later, Victor Moses.

Marcos Rojo - 7

More focused on winding Diego Costa up than stopping him from scoring but executed both tasks very well.

https://s22.postimg.org/edrg4k71d/3F...9235985957.jpg
Marcos Rojo took it upon himself to play chief agitator to Chelsea striker Diego Costa

Eric Bailly - 7

Did not partake in the dark arts like Rojo. Stuck to the task of playing football and covered the gaps well.

Matteo Darmian - 6.5

Lost Pedro twice in quick succession in the second half to gift the Spaniard the opportunities to score but otherwise solid.

Marouane Fellaini - 7

An incredibly strong presence in midfield as per usual. Did the basics well and rarely found out of position, if at all.

Ander Herrera - 8

Created the first with a sublime pass and scored the second. Man-marked Eden Hazard out of the game and Jose Mourinho's likely choice for man of the match.

https://s22.postimg.org/m91zjdgo1/3F...9235924198.jpg
Ander Herrera was Manchester United's all-action utility man across the entire midfield

Paul Pogba - 6.5

A quiet game but flashes of quality from a man who looks in need of an extended rest after a hectic 12 months.

Jesse Lingard - 7

Linked up well with Rashford in an unfamiliar forward position but not nearly as threatening in front of goal.

Marcus Rashford - 8.5

Burned David Luiz for pace en route to scoring the opening goal, something not even Zlatan Ibrahimovic could have done. A constant problem for Chelsea's defence.

Ashley Young - 6.5

Made a hash of two decent first-half opportunities. More of a passenger on the Manchester United gravy train.

Substitutes

Carrick (Lingard 60) - 6; Ibrahimovic - 5.5 (Rashford 83); Fosu-Mensah (Young 90).

Subs not used: Romero; Blind; Shaw; Mkhitaryan.

Manager: Jose Mourinho - 8

Re: [EPL] Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea

Marcos Rojo and Diego Costa resume battle, Antonio Conte's cap and Phil Neville's odd collection of friends: Six things you missed from Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea

* Marcus Rashford starred as Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford
* Marcos Rojo and Diego Costa continued their ongoing and slightly tedious feud
* Ashley Young became the latest in the line of bizarre United captaincy choices
* Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's fashion credential came under question
* Here are Sportmail's selection of things you missed from the big Sunday clash

Jose Mourinho got the better of his old side as Manchester United slowed Chelsea's title charge with a 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera gave Mourinho's United a deserved and unexpectedly comfortable victory to leave the Blues just four points clear of Tottenham at the top of the Premier League.

The result also gave United's hopes of finishing in the top four a lift and makes the title race at least fractionally less finished.

The on-field action was engrossing at Old Trafford so do not worry if you missed the game's finer details, Sportsmail has you covered.

Armband merry-go-round for United

The United captaincy used to be a position of status in English football. Throughout history great names have held the title: Bobby Charlton, Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Roy Keane and you could probably even include Nemanja Vidic in that list.

In the last two Premier Leagues the armband has been taken by Marouane Fellaini and now Ashley Young. Even if they are becoming increasingly appreciated for the selfless work ethic by United fans they are not many people's idea of Old Trafford captaincy material.

Having led the side last weekend at Sunderland what did Fellaini do wrong to see Young take over?

The Rojo vs Costa race to the bottom continues

In the FA Cup clash between United and Chelsea last month Marcos Rojo played chief agitator and was involved in a running battle Diego Costa throughout.

At Old Trafford they resumed hostilities again.

After Costa's aerial challenge Eric Bailly pushed perilously close to a face-first meeting with the post Rojo squared up to the forward.

The two tangled later on the first half as they fell turf-wards after another headed duel. Rojo and Costa both appeared to lay sly digs on each other and reacted in equally embarrassing fashion. Unsurprisingly both ended the game in the book.

Less Rumble in the Jungle, more Zippy and Bungle (ask your parents).

I thought Italians were meant to be stylish?

Chelsea's official tailors Hackett probably did not have Antonio Conte's chosen accessory in mind when they designed their latest club suit.

It was not exactly blinding sun but Conte paired his smart suit and button up, almost certainly tailored and probably worth a few hundred quid, with a £13 adidas cap.

This is not acceptable

Phil Neville and his loosely connected gang of football friends

Kurt Zouma's laboured stepovers had Gary Neville making light-hearted comparisons to brother Phil's slow-mo footwork and the Sky cameras picking out the younger brother in the Old Trafford stands.

To say Phil was in varied company would be to undersell his collection of companions.

Graeme Le Saux, Robbie Earle, Andy Townsend, Frank Leboeuf, Mark Schwarzer and Mikael Silvestre could be an ITV2 major tournament highlight show B Team.

Judas is still No 1

With the win over his former club Jose Mourinho has now recorded at least one league victory versus all 34 Premier League opponents that he's faced as a manager.
