YOUR ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO BURNLEY V UNITED

Manchester United begin the month of September with a short trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

In our final game before the first international break of the campaign, the Reds will be looking to bounce back from the disappointing defeats away at Brighton & Hove Albion and at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Our match preview is here to get you up to speed ahead of our fourth match of 2018/19…

WHAT'S THE EARLY TEAM NEWS?
The United squad was bolstered by the return of Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia and Alexis Sanchez against Spurs after their respective absences. Meanwhile, summer signing Diogo Dalot has been training with his new team-mates and is edging closer to his debut. It remains to be seen if Phil Jones will be fit enough to be involved after coming off against Tottenham with what appeared to be a hamstring injury, while Argentinian duo Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo are yet to feature this season.

HOW ABOUT BURNLEY?
The hosts could be without five players – including two former Reds – for Sunday’s game. Ex-United stars Anders Lindegaard and Robbie Brady look set to miss out with thigh and hamstring injuries respectively. Clarets goalkeeper Nick Pope faces a long spell on the treatment table with a shoulder injury, while key midfielders Johann Berg Gudmundsson (hamstring) and Steven Defour (calf) are expected to be sidelined again. After his red card in the first leg, record signing Ben Gibson is suspended for Burnley's Europa League play-off clash against Olympiacos on Thursday, so the former Middlesbrough defender could be in line to face the Reds. If he plays, Ben Mee will make his 100th career appearance in the Premier League.

HOW HAVE BURNLEY STARTED THE SEASON?
The Clarets have already played eight competitive matches so far this term. After finishing seventh last season, Sean Dyche’s side entered the Europa League at the second qualifying round stage, where they beat Aberdeen 4-2 on aggregate. As was the case against the Scottish outfit, Burnley also needed extra-time in the second leg to edge past Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir 1-0 in a tie played either side of their Premier League opener – a hard-earned goalless draw away at Southampton. The Clarets are yet to pick up a league win, following a 3-1 home defeat by high-flying Watford and 4-2 loss at newly-promoted Fulham. After a difficult 3-1 reverse in Greece with 10 men in the first leg of their play-off tie last week, Burnley have it all to do against Olympiacos in the second leg on Thursday night in order to reach the Europa League group stage.

WHAT’S OUR OVERALL RECORD AGAINST BURNLEY LIKE?
The Reds have won 60, drawn 22 and lost 44 of 126 competitive meetings with Burnley, stretching back to September 1892. Sunday’s game will be United’s ninth in the Premier League against the Clarets – the Reds have won four, drawn three and lost just one of the previous eight, scoring 11 goals and conceding four in the process. Our biggest Premier League victory over Burnley was a 3-0 success at Old Trafford in January 2010, with strikers Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney and Mame Biram Diouf all on target in the second half. The Reds claimed four points from a possible six against the Lancashire outfit last term. Jesse Lingard came off the bench to score twice as we came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, before Anthony Martial netted the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor back in January. You can watch the goals from both meetings below.

WHO’S THE REFEREE?
Jon Moss, who was the fourth official against Spurs on Monday night, will be the man in the middle for Sunday’s game. The West Yorkshire-based whistler took charge of five United matches last season – four of which were away from home. It will be his third Premier League outing of the current campaign, after overseeing Watford’s 2-0 win over Brighton on the opening weekend and Leicester’s 2-1 victory at Southampton last Saturday.

WHAT’S THE LATEST FROM JOSE?
The boss will hold his pre-match press conference at the Aon Training Complex on Friday and you can follow updates from his media briefing on ManUtd.com and the new Manchester United Official App, available to download now for free from Google Play and Apple's App Store.

Parahnya pertahanan United paling demen kocar-kacir kalo diserang mendadak selagi asik2nya nyerang. Tapi akan amat sangat menyenangkan kalo United sekali lagi bermain cepat seperti babak pertama lawan Spurs. Who knows, dengan tipe permainan yg sama Burnley ga sanggup ngatasinya dan gol2 pun bermunculan.
Diskusi gini asiknya kalo mas @rondwisan; masih ada. Hahaha
