Default Re: Ryan Joseph Giggs

Ryan Giggs' trial for alleged coercive behaviour and assault against his ex-partner could be delayed AGAIN... with Manchester Crown Court forced to close for two weeks after asbestos was discovered in the basement

* Ryan Giggs was due at city centre building on Monday to face the allegations
* But the ex-Wales manager - who denies them - could find case put back again
* A potential site of the carcinogen was discovered in a basement of the court
* Giggs' case has been listed for a 'mention' at Minshull Street on Thursday

The trial of Ryan Giggs could be delayed again - after an asbestos scare at Manchester Crown Court.

Former Manchester United player Giggs, 48, was due at the city centre building on Monday to face allegations of controlling behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his ex-partner and assault by beating of her sister - accusations he denies.

But the ex-Wales manager, who stepped down from his post earlier this summer, may now find the case put back for a second time.

Ryan Giggs' trial could be delayed again due to an asbestos scare at Manchester Crown Court. Ex-Wales boss Giggs was due at the city centre building on Monday to face assault allegations. A potential site of the carcinogen was discovered in a basement of Manchester Crown Court

On Friday, a potential site of the carcinogen was discovered in a basement of the court, which was built in the 1960s.

It has subsequently been closed for a fortnight but will only be re-opened when it has been declared safe.

Some urgent cases have been transferred to the city's other crown court at Minshull Street, with others switched to Bolton. Giggs's case has been listed for a 'mention' at Minshull Street on Thursday. It may be put back, or moved to another court.

The case was originally due to be heard in January - but a lack of available courtrooms at the venue saw it pushed back seven months.
