UNITED ENTER UNDER-19 GERMAN TOURNAMENT
Manchester United are to compete in the International Sparkasse & VGH Cup in Germany for the first time in the New Year.
The Goettingen-based tournament is for Under-19 players and is the latest trip scheduled for the Academy youngsters.
Austria Vienna won last year's five-a-side event with Fulham the only English representatives. Germany internationals Manuel Neuer and Mesut Ozil have previously taken part in the prestigious competition.
A sizeable crowd is expected and the indoor game will present plenty of challenges for the young Reds between 5 and 8 January 2017.
Head of Academy Nicky Butt told ManUtd.com recently: "We have developed our tours and tournaments programme for the remainder of the season. We are passionate about our players experiencing all of the benefits that come with tournament football such as elite opposition, different styles of football, penalty shoot-outs and a competitive environment."
