Default [2022/2023] Man United Fixtures

Man United boss Erik ten Hag will get an early chance to test his bold claim of ending the dominance of Liverpool and Man City with a home clash against Jurgen Klopp's side early on... and has a favourable run-in as he seeks a minimum of a top-four finish

* United face Liverpool at Old Trafford in the third week of the new campaign
* New boss Ten Hag has been handed a relatively favourable set of fixtures
* United have a kind run-in but play Liverpool and Arsenal in their opening six games
* The first Manchester derby is scheduled for October 1 at the Etihad Stadium

New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will have an early chance to test his belief that he can end the era of dominance of Liverpool and Manchester City with a home clash against Jurgen Klopp's side in the first three weeks of the new season.

Ten Hag made the bold claim that he could break the duopoly enjoyed by the two sides in the Premier League in recent years during his first press conference as the new manager at Old Trafford last month.

It will not be long until United fans will get to see Ten Hag's credentials against the top sides as Liverpool visit Old Trafford on August 20, giving the Dutchman an opportunity to avenge the humiliating 5-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of their arch-rivals in the corresponding fixture last season.

The return fixture at Anfield is pencilled in for the weekend of March 4.

Erik ten Hag has been handed a kind set of fixtures for his debut Premier League campaign. Ten Hag will get the chance to avenge the 5-0 defeat by Liverpool in the third round of fixtures

The home encounter with Klopp comes after they host Brighton, where supporters will get the first look at what could be a new-look team under the Dutchman, and a visit to Brentford in the second week of the campaign.

United go up against all of the 'big six' in Ten Hag's opening 13 matches, putting further pressure on the club's hierarchy to deliver in the summer transfer window.

Ten Hag will take his side to the Etihad to face champions Manchester City in the first derby of the season, a game the Red Devils lost 4-1 last term, on October 1, which immediately comes after United welcome Leeds to Old Trafford.

An awkward October also includes a home clash with Tottenham and a visit to Stamford Bridge to take on Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea.

United make the short journey to the Etihad for the first the first derby on October 1

The festive fixture list is favourable as United face all three promoted sides - Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest - in quick succession before a tricky run in the New Year.

Ten Hag's first home Manchester derby is scheduled for January 14, with Arsenal away the following week and a trip to Elland Road to take on Leeds in early February.

United do not play any of last season's top six after their Thursday night excursions in the Europa League, often a difficult competition to balance alongside domestic ambitions.

Ten Hag will not be expected to challenge for the title in his debut campaign in England but, should United be in contention, he has a run-in that looks kind on paper - although they do play Chelsea and Spurs back-to-back prior to the end of April.

United end with an away encounter at Bournemouth before finishing the season at home to Fulham. If Ten Hag needs results to secure a place in the top four, he could scarcely have asked for better.
