ANOTHER FIVE-STAR SHOW DESPITE CHONG BLOW
Manchester United's Under-18s shrugged off the loss of Tahith Chong to a serious knee injury by thumping Sunderland 5-2 at the weekend.
The free-scoring youngsters will be deprived of the services of the talented Dutch prospect, after he was hurt against Everton, but a much-changed side beat the Black Cats on their home turf, scoring five in a game for the fifth time this season.
Watch as Nishan Burkart displays lightning pace down the right flank to set up Josh Bohui's opener and, after the Reds are pegged back, Aidan Barlow's free-kick restores the lead before the break.
Burkart added a third from distance and Ethan Hamilton made it 4-1 by charging through to slip in a splendid solo effort. Zak Dearnley got in on the act with a fine finish and, despite conceding a second goal, United clinched an impressive win on the road.
"It was a pleasing morning's work," Kieran McKenna told MUTV. "The new boys coming in were making a good impression in a good performance.
"The story of the season really has been the goals not coming from only one source. It's been all the forwards who play. It's good to see Zak Dearnley back in from injury and getting a goal as well.
"Tahith has sustained quite a serious knee injury, unfortunately, but he's a fantastic lad, a big talent and a good character. We wish him all the best and have no doubt he'll come back stronger and better than ever."
