Arsenal are understood to be preparing a move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgian international, who was named in his country's World Cup squad on Monday, will become a free agent at the end of this month if United fail to agree a new deal.
Sportsmail revealed in May that Fellaini was demanding at least a two-year deal to stay beyond this season, while United only offered one year with the option of an additional 12 months.

The Belgium midfielder's representatives have been in talks with a number of clubs for some time, including teams from the Premier League, Turkey and Italy.
The Gunners are believed to be interested in strengthening their midfield ranks with Fellaini.
In 23 appearances in the season just finished he scored five goals and provided one assist.
Arsenal brought in Sven Mislintat as their new head of recruitment back in November and announced Unai Emery as their new boss on May 23.
Mislintat is credited with bringing Robert Lewandowski, Shinji Kagawa and Ousmane Dembele to Borussia Dortmund, as well as being a key player in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the German club in January.
He will work closely with Emery as well as chief executive Ivan Gazidis and oversee the club's global scouting network in order to revolutionise the way they recruit players.
