* Manchester United hope Marcus Rashford returns to training later this month
* Rashford is currently recovering after undergoing surgery on a shoulder issue
* The Sun claim that Rashford's speedy progress could see him comeback soon
* United are said to be 'delighted' with Rashford's condition after his procedure

Marcus Rashford could reportedly make a training comeback at Manchester United by the end of the month, weeks before his expected return date, after his surgery.

Forward Rashford went under the knife two weeks ago to correct an issue with his shoulder, and his impressive recovery has led United to be hopeful of a return soon.

The Sun claim that the 23-year-old may undergo light training inside the next 10 days, with Rashford already working on his build his strength back up.

United are said to be 'delighted' with how Rashford has bounced back from the procedure, although their academy graduate is continuing to use a brace.

He gritted his teeth to play through the agony during England's Euro 2020 campaign, having initially sustained a muscle tear back in November.

It is believed that Rashford is now in less pain, and the same report adds that he is also having two rehabilitation sessions per week.

With a specially-designed programme set for the Three Lions man over the next fortnight, United hope he could be available for selection by the end of September.

Rashford and his club initially set a return date in October, meaning that the latest development is a promising one as United push for the Premier League title.

He has carried out work on the water treadmill, restored back some strength using squats and also worked on his resistance.

After heading home following his discharge from hospital, Rashford gave his followers and United supporters an update via social media.

Taking to Twitter, he published a photo of himself looking happy and healthy, while beaming into the camera with his left shoulder notably padded up.

In his caption, Rashford wrote: 'Thank you for all the well wishes. I had my surgery on Friday morning and everything went very well.

'A little sore but other than that I’m feeling good. Hope you’re all having a great day!'

Rashford admitted to struggling last season and opted for a procedure to correct the problem. Rashford confirmed that 'everything went well' after the surgery when updating his followers. He was notably struggling with the issue after sustaining the muscle tear back in November

After England's heart-breaking defeat by Italy on penalties at Wembley, which saw Rashford miss a spot-kick, he admitted he struggled on and off the field last season.

Last month, he underwent a scan on his shoulder in Liverpool, which revealed that the damage was unlikely to get worse.

He was keen to fix the problem once and for all, however, having required painkilling injections to turn out last season.
