Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga will be in Manchester United's Carabao Cup squad on Wednesday.

The Red Devils manager has already revealed Jesse Lingard will start against West Ham at Old Trafford.

And Solskjaer told the club's website that Telles' return from injury and Elanga's impressive youth team performances means both have earned a place in the squad - but did not mention whether they would start or be on the bench.

He said: 'Anthony was terrific in pre-season – his attitude, his enthusiasm, his directness. I love to see players like this.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated Alex Telles (r) will be in Manchester United's squad on Wednesday. The Red Devils boss also revealed Anthony Elanga (right) will be in the squad to face West Ham

'He was disappointed not to travel down to West Ham (for Sunday's Premier League game) but he scored for the Under-23s and now he's ready. He'll be involved in the squad.

'Alex has worked well and will be in the squad as well. We lost nobody on Sunday so it's the same squad or same pool of players to choose from.

'We know it's early on in the season and some players need minutes to get their proper fitness up so I will make a few changes.'

Brazilian left back Telles has had to play second fiddle to Luke Shaw since signing in October 2020, only making playing Premier League matches since then and 24 in total across all competitions.

The 28-year-old picked up an ankle injury in pre-season, so if he features against the Hammers it will be his first appearance on the pitch this campaign.

Promising teenage winger Elanga, meanwhile, impressed on his professional debut last season and was granted a start against Wolves on the final league game, scoring after just 13 minutes.

The Sweden Under-21 international, 19, will now potentially have another crack at the first-team after impressing for the club's youth team, scoring a penalty in a 2-1 win against Brighton.
