Injury blow for Rodwell
ESPNsoccernet - September 10, 2010
Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has been ruled out until December after suffering ankle ligament damage.
Rodwell was taken off after 20 minutes of Everton's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on August 29 and subsequently had to withdraw from the England Under-21 squad.
Medical staff at the club had to wait for the swelling to go down but, having now carried out full tests, it has emerged that Rodwell will be out for three months with the problem.
Rodwell, 19, signed a new five-year contract at Everton in the summer and forced his way into the starting line-up against Villa after an impressive showing in the 5-1 Carling Cup win over League One side Huddersfield.
