Default [EL] FC Rostov V Manchester United

Manchester United commit to covering £120 cost of Russian visa for EVERY fan travelling to Rostov match

* Manchester United travel to Russia to take on FC Rostov in Europa League match
* All Manchester United fans will need a visa to enter Russia, costing around £120
* The Red Devils face a nightmare 3,744-mile round trip before playing Chelsea
* The club have announced that they will refund the full amount to all supporters
* Mancheter United face paying up to £60,000 for all 500 travelling fans

Manchester United will pay for their supporters’ visas for their Europa League trip to Russia.

United take on FC Rostov on March 9 in the away leg of their round of 16 clash and the club have vowed to refund the £118.20 processing fee for around 500 travelling supporters.

Rostov, located east of Ukraine, is almost 2,000 miles away from Manchester and fans will face substantial costs to follow their team.

Manchester United were drawn with Russian side FC Rostov in the Europa League round of 16

However, Sportsmail understands that United decided to act as a gesture of goodwill given the short time frame between the draw and the match.

Supporters successful in the ballot for the match have been asked to supply their travel details by 8pm on Wednesday and will have their tickets posted out as soon as they arrive from Rostov.

Those who are leaving early can ask for them to be sent to their hotel.
Jose Mourinho’s United, who return to face Chelsea following the clash, had previously moved Moscow to Manchester ahead of a trip to CSKA Moscow in 2015 when they set up a temporary visa service with the Russian Embassy at the club’s Carrington training ground for players and one at Old Trafford for fans.

However, as there is now a visa application centre in Manchester, supporters will need to arrange their own documents.

Fans can then send a receipt for their visa and the club will contact them to arrange a refund.
