Default Re: Man United U-23 Matches 2016/17

Ternyata hanya mampu bermain imbang...

RESERVES: TOTTENHAM 1 UNITED 1

Premier League 2 | Tottenham Training Centre | Scorers: Harrison 31 | Riley 20

Manchester United's Reserves travel back north from London with a point after a 1-1 draw with Tottenham in Enfield.

Joe Riley opened the scoring for the Reds but Shayon Harrison levelled for the home side 11 minutes later and neither side was able to conjure up a winner after a tight second half.

Kyle Walker-Peters was bright as Spurs enjoyed a positive opening but keeper Dean Henderson remained largely untroubled. Sean Goss, back in the United side after a lengthy spell out due to injury, made an important clearance from a Walker-Peters cross, following a run by Harrison that deceived three defenders.

A first Reds shot on target yielded a goal as Goss found in-form Riley with a fine pass and the left-back calmly dummied a defender as he cut inside before slipping his finish wide of Thomas Glover. Spurs responded 11 minutes later when Cy Goddard's effort was blocked by Ro-Shaun Williams but, with Henderson already grounded, Harrison emphatically lashed home the rebound from outside the box.

Warren Joyce's side finished the half on top with Matty Willock forcing a diving save out of Glover and Goss unable to get his shot on target. When Goss took a quick-free kick to enable Matthew Olosunde to power his way into the box, Willock was squeezed out in the middle as United had to settle for going in at the interval on level terms.

Devonte Redmond, charged with the responsibility of playing as the lone striker, teed up Goss for a drive that flew well wide and the visitors lost Josh Harrop to injury shortly before the hour mark, with Demi Mitchell coming off the bench.

Both teams struggled to create anything of note until Spurs twice came close to taking the lead in a matter of minutes. Henderson made a smart one-handed stop to thwart Walker-Peters after a slide-rule pass by Joe Muscatt and Anthony Georgiou was booked for simulation as he fell under Riley's challenge when latching onto the rebound. From the next attack, Regan Poole's outstretched leg somehow blocked a Harrison shot from close range when a goal seemed inevitable.

Goss was withdrawn 13 minutes from time after a polished return and United tried to muster a late rally with Olosunde's attempt deflected through to Glover. Harrison wasted a glorious chance to earn three points for Spurs when angling his finish wide from a Walker-Peters cross in the 86th minute. There was no further late drama as Spurs at least arrested a five-game losing streak while United are still seeking a first win on the road in Premier League 2.

United: Henderson; Williams, Tuanzebe, Poole, Riley; Goss (Kehinde 77), El Fitouri; Olosunde (Warren 82), Willock, Harrop (Mitchell 58); Redmond. Subs not used: O'Hara, Scott.
