Reds win Barclays double

United have won another double – after Sir Alex Ferguson and Dimitar Berbatov were named Barclays Manager and Player of the Month.

The Reds are renowned for moving up a gear at the turn of the New Year and this season has proved to be no exception. Sir Alex’s side won 13 points from a possible 15 in January to maintain an unbeaten league run in 2010/11.

While the boss has now won the monthly award an unprecedented 25 times, Berbatov picks up the gong for the first time on his own after sharing it with former Tottenham team-mate Robbie Keane in 2007.

The Bulgarian marksman struck five goals in January to take his tally to 19 this season, including two in the Reds' sensational come-from-behind victory over Blackpool, a result that could well prove crucial come the end of the campaign.

Award ini yg ke-25 kalinya untuk Opa Alex ...

sedangkan untuk Berba ini kali kedua, tapi lebih bermakna karena award pertama dia memperolehnya bersama-sama tandemnya di Spurs waktu itu, Robbie Keane, pada 2007

sepertinya FA tidak kesulitan untuk menentukan duo SAF dan Berbatov untuk meraih barclays player of the month di bulan Januari. dengan hanya kehilangan 2 poin dari maksimal 15 poin yang bisa diraih yaitu pada saat ditahan Hotspur pada saat partay away itupun man of the match diraih Nemanja Vidic cukup untuk mengalahkan pesaing lain bagi Sir Alex untuk meraihnya. Sedangkan Berbatov yang saat ini berada sendirian dipuncak Top skor dengan 19 goal juga tidak kesulitan bagi FA untuk menentukan gelar kepada dia, dengan raihan 5 goal dan 2 kali man of the match sudah cukup untuk menambahkan koleksi thropy pribadi ke lemari berbatov.
