Re: [2014/2015] Manchester United - Transfer Rumors
Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Arturo Vidal, Thomas Vermaelen, More
Manchester United will have to pay "over £45 million" to acquire the services of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to Miguel Delaney of ESPN FC. The Chilean midfielder, who starred for Jorge Sampaoli's side at the World Cup despite struggling with a lack of fitness, is reported to be one of Louis van Gaal's top targets heading into his first campaign as Red Devils boss, as per Jack de Menezes of The Independent. Understandably, Juve aren't welcoming offers for their midfield talisman. Delaney's article indicates United will be forced into paying heavily for the 27-year-old: Quote:
Former United centre-back Rio Ferdinand indicates Vidal doesn't offer the greatest long-term investment: Quote:

Vermaelen is obviously a less spectacular signing than someone of Vidal's ilk, but he could fulfill an important role at Old Trafford if he remains fit. He can play as a centre-back and a left-back, plus he is a cut-price option to replacing Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic. Vermaelen is one of the Premier League's best when he finds consistent form, which just hasn't been possible at Arsenal after Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker struck up a dominant relationship at the back. Simon Jones of the Daily Mail suggests Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij "is destined" to play for United next season, following Van Gaal to the Theatre of Dreams after an impressive World Cup. A fee of £7 million plus add-ons is detailed for the 22-year-old, a transfer that would represent decent business along United's rebuild. De Vrij was previously quoted as saying, "The chances are that I will leave, I can probably confirm this," as per RTV Rijnmond (via Gary Jones of the Daily Star). OptaJohan highlights the kind of versatile game De Vrij would offer United upon arrival: Quote:

If Juventus are willing to consider selling Vidal for £45 million like reports suggest, United's next signing should be something of a no-brainer. Code:

Re: [2014/2015] Manchester United - Transfer Rumors
____________ PurelyFootball.com - Posted on 2 July, 2014 Louis van Gaal set for third summer signing Louis van Gaal is set to make Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels, 25, his third summer signing, according to The Metro. United are set to make a final bid of £20m for the defender, who is currently representing Germany in the World Cup. With Dortmund reluctant to sell another one of their star players, and Hummels happy to stay at the Westlfalenstadion, United would have to offer an inflated fee in addition to a gigantic contract offer for the player. Hummels, who has made 156 appearances for Dortmund, is seen as an ideal replacement for departing defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, with a world class centre-back needed to boost Van Gaal’s side. Despite United also being interested in Thomas Vermaelen and Stefan de Vrij, Hummels is reported to be United’s top target, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also interested in the German international. l is set to make Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels, 25, his third summer signing, according to The Metro. |

Re: [2014/2015] Manchester United - Transfer Rumors
Carvalho/Mangala/Hummels/Kroos/Di Maria.
Gw berharap setidaknya ada 1 pemain tengah (sayap) yg dateng serta kalo perlu 1 pemain bek tengah super. Dan menurut gw kita bisa memulai musim dgn lebih ceria

________________ Marouane Fellaini to be offloaded as Louis van Gaal says £27m dud 'is not a Manchester United player'
Marouane Fellaini’s World Cup campaign has essentially become one big Barclays Premier League audition after it emerged that new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has instructed the club to sell him. Fellaini — an unmitigated disaster during his first season at Old Trafford last term — scored when coming on as a late substitute in Belgium’s opening game here in Brazil. He has played every minute of the three victories that have followed. But it is understood that Van Gaal has told associates Fellaini is ‘not a United type of player’ and has instructed chief executive Ed Woodward to sell him before the season starts. Old Trafford sources have revealed this week that Van Gaal has been quite clear about who he wants and doesn’t want and has told Woodward already. All that remains to be seen is whether United can sell Fellaini for anything near the £27million they paid when buying him from Everton last September. Sacked United manager David Moyes consistently defended Fellaini last season and used to say that the 26-year-old was Belgium’s ‘stand-out player whenever I went to see them play’. Now it appears that Fellaini must show that form during the remainder of this tournament if he is to get a decent move ahead of the Premier League season, which starts next month. With Belgium through to face Argentina in the last eight of the World Cup, it is unlikely Fellaini will join United on their two-week tour of America that begins on July 21. Therefore, he is unlikely to have any chance to impress Van Gaal at close quarters and change the Dutchman’s mind. dailymail |

Re: [2014/2015] Manchester United - Transfer Rumors
Manchester United Transfer News: Mats Hummels Bid Reported, Stefan De Vrij Eyed
Louis van Gaal is looking to bolster his Manchester United defence with the acquisition of Mats Hummels and Stefan de Vrij, according to reports. Hummels, a mainstay of the Borussia Dortmund back four, is said to be the subject of a £20 million bid from Old Trafford, an attempt the Metro calls a "final push" to land the German's services: Quote:
As reported by Bild and via Stephan Uersfeld of ESPN FC, Hummels indicates his heart remains at the Westfalenstadion: Quote:
More likely to sign for United is De Vrij, who has enjoyed a decent World Cup under incoming Red Devils boss Van Gaal. A price of £7 million plus add-ons would certainly ensure United receive value for money, per Simon Jones of the Daily Mail. Although less recognised than Hummels, De Vrij offers a cool head and measured approach at the age of 22. He is also trusted by Van Gaal and can help shift some of the load now Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic have exited. uke Shaw's arrival certainly helps galvanise United's left-back position, but Van Gaal has plenty of work to do in order to rebuild United's struggling defence. Right now his first-choice centre-backs are Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones; a trio that don't possess the quality or leadership skills to prop up United's bid to regain Champions League football. De Vrij indicated he is likely to move but will wait until after the World Cup to decide his future. "The chances are that I will leave, I can probably confirm this," said De Vrij, reported by RTV Rijnmond (via Gary Jones of the Daily Star). "I am with the Dutch national team so I don't know the exact details." The Dutch defender would certainly be a pragmatic signing for the new boss, noted by Kevin Palmer of the Sunday World: Quote:
He is the type of individual needed—a strong, aerially dominant, ball-playing centre-back—but De Vrij is likely to represent something of a compromise for fans. An ideal scenario would see both arrive. Van Gaal needs to ensure his squad is balanced with experience and young players who continue to improve, particularly in defence. Right now, United's back line lacks proven quality at the top level and will ship goals against the Premier League's best, as we saw last season. Hummels may remain something of a pipe-dream, but at £7 million, De Vrij's signing makes total sense for a club that is looking to bounce back from last year's horrific form. Code:
