Aku pernah nulis di thread lain, aku takut alasan fans memilih Giggs hanya karena dia legenda United dan anggota class of 92 dan bukan karena kualitasnya sebagai manajer. Jadi ya, tunjukkan dl dia layak menjadi manajer United.

Toh walaupun misalnya van gaal sukses juara premiere league dan menjalani masa 3 th kontrak..dengan giggs sebagai asistennya, gue pribadi jg masih belom percaya doi bakal sukses ngelatih united..

Karena secara logis dan realistus memang itu seharusnya masbro. Jauh lah membandingkan Mou dengan Giggs. Jangankan dengan Mou, dengan Moyes pun Giggs kalah. Apa yg membuat Giggs lebih baik dr Moyes sebagai pelatih? Tidak ada. Sebagai pemain mungkin Giggs legenda tapi sebagai manajer dia amatir.

Harapan fans Glory Hunter yg sekarang setelah penunjukan Mou jadi manager United kurang lebih sama dg saat di tunjuknya LvG. Harapan instan dg membuat kata kembali kejalurnya sebagai alih2 ingin memperoleh piala.
Harapan saya pribadi untuk Giggs bukan ingin melihat agar seperti Pep, Zidane, atau pun sederet pemain yg Bung Fred sebutkan tidak serta merta jadi manager top. Toh dari semua yg bung Fred sebutkan, Giggs lebih spesial bagi club dr pada yg lainya u/ clubnya.
Giggs biarkan menjadi dia sendiri, cukup beri saja KESEMPATAN dan percayakan dia lebih tau bagaimana United seharunya bermain kalau masih terasa ala Fergie anggap saja bonus tapi saya yakin Giggs punya caranya sendiri.

Ryan Giggs is set for talks with Manchester United before deciding whether to end his lifelong association with the club or to continue in a role with new manager Jose Mourinho.

Fans will be cheered by the news that Mourinho is to announce the arrival of a big-name striker this week and Marcus Rashford has signed a new deal. But Giggs' departure after 29 years would be a major disappointment for them.

It is understood the club would like to him to stay but if there is no genuine job it is thought Giggs will cut his ties with the club.

He is currently on holiday in Dubai but is expected to meet executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Mourinho this week to discuss how he would be expected to work in the new regime.

Giggs has been assistant to David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, for whom he led post-match analysis team meetings. In training he was in charge of the players who weren't in the first team but whose job it was to mimic the shape and tactics of the opposition.

Mourinho is expected to bring his usual assistants, Rui Faria and Silvino Louro, with him to United, so it is hard to see how Giggs could have a job with similar significance. His close friend Nicky Butt is head of the academy so there is no obvious role for him there.

Meanwhile United are keen to make a major signing following Mourinho's appointment. Woodward was in Milan on Saturday night watching the manager's targets Karim Benzema and Atletico's Saul Niguez and meeting agents at the Champions League final.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is available on a free and United are negotiating with his agent, who wants £220,000-a-week for his 34-year-old client.

Alvaro Morata of Juventus — who was given his debut by Mourinho at Real Madrid as a teenager — and Pierre-Emeric Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund are also under consideration.

Midfielders Andre Gomes (Valencia) and Grzegorz Krychowiak (Sevilla) are both being targeted but Everton defender John Stones is tipped to join Manchester City once the Goodison Park club appoint a new manager.

Rashford has agreed terms that will see his wages leap from £1,500 to £25,000 a week, plus bonuses.

Ryan Giggs is close to ending his 29-year association with Manchester United , according to reports.


The 42-year-old is due to return from Dubai on Thursday after taking a post-season break. Our sister paper, the Mirror, claims that the Welshman has decided to leave Old Trafford in search of a new challenge.


Giggs, who served as No. 2 to Van Gaal and the Dutchman’s predecessor, David Moyes, is thought to have been offered a lesser role under new manager Jose Mourinho.


The arrival of the Portuguese boss means that his trusted lieutenants, Rui Faria and Silvino Louro, as well as fitness coach Carlos Lalin, are expected to join the club.


Mourinho is expected to appoint long-standing assistant Rui Faria as his No.2, meaning that any position Giggs accepts would be a step down in the new regime.


The role Giggs has been offered at United is understood to be within the Academy, which is headed up by his former team-mate and close friend Nicky Butt.


United were keen to keep Giggs on in some capacity and will not put pressure on him to make a quick decision regarding his future.


It is understood Giggs is disappointed at being overlooked for the manager's job in the wake of Van Gaal's sacking and has a desire to try his hand at management.


He is the club's most decorated player in United's history with 963 appearances to his name.

Ryan Giggs looks set to end his 29 –year association with Manchester United by turning down a new role under Jose Mourinho.

The 42–year-old Reds legend was assistant manager to the sacked Louis van Gaal.

However, the club are understood to have offered the former Welsh international a lesser role under new boss Mourinho, and Giggs is now set to make the emotional decision to cut ties and seek a managerial position elsewhere.

The Special One is expected to appoint his long-standing assistant Rui Faria as his No 2.

United have declined to comment on the title of the job offered to Giggs, who made 963 appearances for the club, but anything other than assistant manager would effectively be a step down.

It is understood that the post is aimed at connecting the Under 21s with the first-team.

No decision was reached on Wednesday about the matter.

Sportsmail understands United retain hope that Giggs will remain at the club and want him to stay but do not want to place him under any pressure to do so and that the feeling at Carrington is that the decision has to be his.

Giggs has returned from a break in Dubai, where he has mulled over his options in the desert sunshine.

Leaving the club he has represented for the majority of his life is a huge wrench and while the opportunity to work with Mourinho would further bolster Giggs' CV he is thought to feel that he is now ready to make his managerial bow.

There is also an element of a gentleman's understanding, that would have seen the former winger take over from Van Gaal, being reneged upon.

Sportsmail understands that following the appointment of Jose Mourinho, Giggs was told to think about creating a role he would feel comfortable with, rather than being made a specific offer.

Whether the Welshman, who enjoyed a break in Dubai following the discussions, is inclined to respond with a suggestion remains unclear.

Giggs, who is in his 29th year at the club, was assistant to both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal. He is said to have understood that he would be in line for the manager’s role at Old Trafford which has gone to Mourinho.

The Portuguese will bring his trusted lieutenants with him to Manchester, a group which includes his No 2 Rui Faria, who is expected to be named assistant manager.

Ryan Giggs appears to be on the brink of leaving Manchester United - with the odds on him being appointed Nottingham Forest manager tumbling.
Giggs has been in limbo since Jose Mourinho was named as the sacked Louis van Gaal ’s successor last month.

The former Chelsea boss is expected to name long-time confidante Rui Faria as assistant manager - the position Giggs held under Van Gaal and his predecessor David Moyes .

It is believed Giggs had been given the opportunity to remain at Old Trafford in a less senior role.

But he is expected to leave the club he has been part of for 29 years as player and coach - with reports suggesting he could make an announcement this week.

It is believed Giggs could take time out to await the right opportunity to go into management.

But the odds on him becoming Forest boss have been slashed, coming in from 33/1 to as little as 1/2.


He had been linked with the Bolton job before former Bradford boss Phil Parkinson took on that task.

Giggs, the club’s most decorated player, was put in temporary charge of the first-team for four games when Moyes was sacked in 2014.

He then worked along side Van Gaal, who suggested the Welshman, 40, could succeed him.

But Mourinho’s appointment has put paid to that with the Portuguse set to bring in his own backroom team.
