kalo ditanya momen yg paling saya inget, ngga jauh dan ngga bukan adalah momen dikartu merahnya Wayne Rooney sama CR7, sampe skrg ngga tau knp saya masih tetep benci Ronaldo d Timnas Portugal. Sampe sekarang saya masih bingung tiap liatin video itu, pas Roo nginjak Carvalho. Kok kayaknya itu Accidentally" yah Inggris lagi2 gagal di Perempat Final, oleh seorang ROnaldo, sama seperti 2002, kandas oleh seorang Dinho Seandainya DAvid Beckham masih jadi pemain MU, mungkin taon 2006 pemain MU d WC jg bertambah, bahkan bisa nyamain Charlton kalo aja dia ikut thn ini, dgn catatan msh d United. Kalo wazza 2 PD lg kayaknya msh bisa tuh . Wahh, saya penasaran dgn Robbo yg katanya om diego United yg paling sering pth tulang, maklum, saya ngga tau bnyk ttg Robbo .

Stiles captured the mood of a nation when he danced along the Wembley turf in the wake of England’s historic win 44 years ago.

He was an unlikely sporting hero, with his gap-toothed grin, short-sightedness and bald head, the polar opposite of sleek skipper Bobby Moore.

But say what you like about Stiles’ appearance – or his dancing – you cannot argue with the fact he was a winner.

A fearless terrier in midfield, Stiles played every minute of the victorious ‘66 campaign, and in the semi-final marked renowned Portuguese playmaker Eusebio out of the game.

United's World Cup pioneer

John Aston Snr became the first Manchester United player to compete in the World Cup finals when he represented England in 1950 against Chile.

Aston helped Walter Winterbottom's side keep a clean sheet at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro as goals from Stan Mortensen and Wilf Mannion secured a 2-0 victory. With fellow Red Henry Cockburn in the squad but failing to make the line-up, it enabled Aston to write his name into the history books.
The defender had marked Stanley Matthews in the FA Cup final two years earlier, as the Reds lifted the trophy after a pulsating 4-2 win, and cemented a place at international level with a string of consistent performances.*

"My dad was a left-back who also played centre-forward for the club when we were in difficulties up front," recalled John Aston Jnr, himself later a league title and European Cup winner with United, in an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com.

"My dad was a different player to me. He was much bigger physically than I was and very much an old-school kind of bloke. It's very difficult to put into words but he was a much more raw-boned fella than me.

"It was a different game and a different era then. The Second World War obviously formed part of that era and, when he came back from the Forces, after being in the Royal Marines, he was at the club as one of the original Busby Babes."**

Sir Matt Busby khan lumayan lama tuh jadi manager United, sejak 1945 - 1969 (plus 1970-1971), sedangkan John Aston Sr sendiri bergabung dengan United sejak 1946-1954, sudah barang tentu under Sir Matt Busby dong, apalagi doi yg rekrut khan klo liat tahunnya hanya berselisih setahun, makanya di atas di tulis "the original Busby babes"

World Cup Reds: Rest of the world


Ten United players from outside England will be representing their countries at Brazil 2014. United Uncovered looks back at the previous 34 ‘Rest of the World’ Reds*in World Cup finals squads…

1958 (Sweden): Gregg, Webster
Four months after the horrors of Munich, Harry Gregg was voted best goalkeeper at the World Cup after helping Northern Ireland reach the quarter-finals. Striker Colin Webster’s Wales team – managed by United number two Jimmy Murphy – also made the last eight but were beaten by eventual winners Brazil, with Webster missing a great chance after coming off the bench.

1974 (West Germany): Buchan, Holton, Morgan
Three Reds represented a Scotland team who narrowly failed to progress beyond the first group stage in 1974, despite not losing any of their three games and claiming an impressive goalless draw with reigning champions Brazil. Jim Holton played in all three, while Martin Buchan and Willie Morgan appeared in two.

1978 (Argentina): Buchan, Jordan, Macari, McQueen
Buchan returned four years later as Scotland again missed out on qualification only on goal difference. Joe Jordan scored*their first goal of the finals in a 3-1 defeat to Peru, while Lou Macari featured in two of the games, but Gordon McQueen did not play due to injury.

1982 (Spain): Whiteside
Norman Whiteside broke Pele's record as the youngest player to appear in a World Cup when he made his debut as a 17-year-old in Northern Ireland’s goalless draw with Yugoslavia. The forward helped his country progress to the second group stage with a famous 1-0 win over hosts Spain, but their hopes of reaching the semi-finals were dashed by a 4-1 defeat to France.

1986 (Mexico): Albiston, Strachan; Olsen, Sivebaek; Whiteside
Jesper Olsen scored three goals in Denmark’s run to the last 16, with fellow Red John Sivebaek making two appearances. In their opening game, the Danes beat Scotland, for whom Gordon Strachan started and Arthur Albiston was an unused substitute, and topped their group as Scotland, managed by Alex Ferguson,*finished bottom. Whiteside scored in a 1-1 draw with Algeria but Northern Ireland lost their other two games to Spain and Brazil.

1990 (Italy): Leighton
Jim Leighton had already been to two World Cups with Scotland before appearing as a United player in Italy. The Scots lost two of their three group games and failed to reach the last 16.

1994 (USA): Irwin, Keane
Roy Keane was named the Republic of Ireland’s best player after helping them reach the knockout stages, thanks in part to a famous 1-0 win over eventual runners-up Italy, in which he was joined by fellow Red Denis Irwin. But Keane insisted Ireland had “nothing to celebrate” after bowing out to the Netherlands in the last 16.

1998 (France): Berg, Johnsen, Solskjaer; Schmeichel
United’s 1998 representation had a Scandinavian flavour, as a Norway side featuring Henning Berg, Ronny Johnsen and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were eliminated by Italy in the last 16, while Peter Schmeichel’s Denmark went one better before losing 3-2 to Brazil in the quarter-finals.

2002 (Japan/South Korea): Barthez, Silvestre; Forlan; Fortune; Veron
Fabien Barthez was in goal as holders France famously fell at first hurdle, with Mikael Silvestre an unused squad member. Les Bleus drew 0-0 with Diego Forlan’s Uruguay but both countries failed to get out of Group A, though Forlan scored in a 3-3 draw with Senegal. Quinton Fortune got on the scoresheet from the penalty spot against Paraguay but South Africa also went out in the group stages. Juan Sebastian Veron’s Argentina fared no better,*finishing third*in Group F below England.

2006 (Germany): Heinze; Howard; Ronaldo; Park; Saha, Silvestre; van der Sar, van Nistelrooy; Vidic
The 2006 tournament featured a record nine non-English United players, though Nemanja Vidic’s Serbia and Montenegro campaign never got off the ground as he was suspended and then suffered a knee injury in training. Silvestre and Louis Saha’s France went all the way to the final, though neither was involved in the defeat on penalties to Italy. Gabriel Heinze had missed most of United’s 2005/06 season through injury but featured heavily in Argentina’s run to the last eight. Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo netted from the spot in normal time against Iran and then in a shootout win over England as his country reached the semi-finals, beating Edwin van der Sar's Netherlands en route. Ruud van Nistelrooy was mysteriously dropped for that game, having scored against the Ivory Coast in the group stage. A goalscoring, man-of-the-match performance by Ji-sung Park against France was not enough to help South Korea progress from the group stage, while a similar fate befell the USA, for whom Tim Howard was an unused sub.

2010 (South Africa): Evra; Park; Vidic
Patrice Evra made all the headlines in his first World Cup finals after reportedly leading a ‘player revolt’ against France’s coaching staff. He was relieved of the captaincy for their final group game, a defeat to hosts South Africa which eliminated them. Vidic got his chance to play on the world stage but Serbia finished bottom of Group D, while Park scored in his third consecutive World Cup finals, against Greece, and captained South Korea to a last-16 spot, where they lost to Uruguay.

Reds in opposition


There have been very few occasions where Manchester United players have met on the field in the World Cup finals.

Spain's clash with the Netherlands and Ecuador's meeting with France present more opportunities in the group stages in Brazil this year,*with Reds in each of the four squads, but Old Trafford stars have only been in direct opposition in four games during the entire history of the biggest tournament on the planet.

The first occurrence came in 1986, when wingers Gordon Strachan and Jesper Olsen*met as Denmark beat Scotland 1-0 in the Estadio Neza. Strachan was substituted moments before another United colleague, John Sivebaek, was introduced for the Danes, with Olsen going off soon afterwards. Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge of the Scots and saw Preben Elkjaer hit a 58th-minute winner.

In 2002, four Reds midfielders started the game in Sapporo as England defeated Argentina 1-0 in the group stages. David Beckham captained his country and slammed in the only goal from the penalty spot as he took on the South Americans alongside Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes. Juan Sebastian Veron was the rival skipper but was withdrawn at half-time after being superbly marshalled by Butt.

Four years later, three of the nations in Group C contained United players but there were no confrontations on the pitch, largely because of Nemanja Vidic's absence for Serbia*and Montenegro. When Dutch duo Edwin van der Sar and Ruud van Nistelrooy took on Argentina, Gabriel Heinze was not involved.*

Similarly, Mikael Silvestre and Louis Saha watched on when Ji-sung Park helped South Korea draw with France in Leipzig, equalising Thierry Henry's opener by beating Fabien Barthez, who was then with Marseille.

It was left to Cristiano Ronaldo to tackle his Old Trafford pals as Portugal defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the second round in Nuremberg. The exciting prospect lasted only 34 minutes of a stormy encounter that saw four players sent off, two from each side, after injuring his thigh. Maniche grabbed the only goal past Dutch captain van der Sar but van Nistelrooy was left on the bench, with Marco van Basten preferring Dirk Kuyt's industry instead.

Portugal progressed to the last eight to face England in surely the most memorable battle between Reds colleagues at a World Cup. Wayne Rooney was sent off on 62 minutes for stamping on Ricardo Carvalho and Ronaldo famously winked towards his country's bench to provoke fury from the English press afterwards.

The two may have clashed during that incident but, despite suggestions to the contrary, they quickly put it behind them and there was never any question of it affecting their friendship. A defence containing Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville held out for penalties but Ronaldo calmly netted the final spot-kick to ensure a 3-1 shoot-out win for his country.
