Re: United, Loan Watch 2011/2012
Manchester United loan out Joshua King to Borussia Monchengladbach – Bundesliga news
Norway international and Manchester United striker, Joshua King, has completed his loan move to Borussia Monchengladbach from Manchester United. The youngster’s move to Germany was confirmed last month but he wasn’t allowed to feature in training because of an unclear medical. The Foals officials have now confirmed that the striker has had a complete medical and will feature in the club’s opening game against Bayern Munich. Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre seemed excited with the move and wished him success with his new journey. He hoped that the Norwegian could prosper in Germany and lead the club to new heights. Favre also showed gratitude to the United officials for allowing the teenager to make a loan move, which would certainly be fruitful for both parties involved. Monchengladbach’s official website quoted, "King, the Norwegian recruit from Manchester United, has undergone a thorough medical and will be put through his paces in individual training sessions over the next couple of days. The striker will be integrated into full training as soon as possible." King also expressed delight at completing his move to Germany and hoped to get first team chances under his belt. He also wished to lead his side to something compared to the last season, where the club failed to win anything. Borussia barely avoided relegation and are with a golden opportunity to justify their berth among the big boys. King started his senior career with Manchester United after joining them in 2009 but did not manage to make a single appearance for the club. The Red Devils loaned out the striker to Preston North End in 2010, where he made seven appearances for the club without bagging a single goal. The 19-year-old will now start a new journey in Germany on this weekend when his travel to lock horns with the mighty Bayern Munich at Allianz-Arena.

Re: United, Loan Watch 2011/2012
Manchester United winger Bebe struck by more bad luck
Bebe’s run of bad luck has taken another cruel twist with the on-loan Manchester United winger being ruled out for six months with a knee injury before even making his Besiktas debut. By Graham Chase 9:37PM BST 10 Aug 2011 The 21 year-old, who joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan deal in June, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing for the Portugal under 21s against Slovakia and he now requires surgery. The clubs are in discussions about where the operation will take place and it remains unclear whether he will return to Manchester for his rehabilitation. The injury caps a bizarre period for the Portuguese, who cost United £7.4 million from Vitoria only weeks after he had been signed on a free transfer. To add to the strange nature of the deal, Bebe, who grew up living in a Lisbon homeless shelter, was signed on the recommendation of former United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, with Sir Alex Ferguson admitting it was the first signing he had ever made without ever having seen the player in action. That did not stop Ferguson being fiercely defensive of the youngster when reports suggested he had been deemed not good enough for the reserves’ match against City’s second string in August. “He is a young man just trying to make his way in football. Ability-wise, he is a terrific finisher,” Ferguson said at the time. The player went on to make his debut in a 5-2 Carling Cup win over Scunthorpe and made his first Premier League appearance as a substitute in a goalless draw at Sunderland. His next Carling Cup appearance saw him score in a 3-2 win over Wolves and he also found the net in a 3-0 Champions League win at Bursaspor. He replaced Owen Hargreaves in the 2-1 win over Wolves, only to be withdrawn himself and then his only other appearances of last season were the 4-0 Carling Cup defeat at West Ham and a 1-0 FA Cup win over Crawley, with Ferguson hitting out at the team performance on both occasions. The move to Turkey, which included a clause with a fixed fee of £2 million, looked like a new start for the Portuguese but it has only brought more misfortune.

Re: United : Loan Watch 2011/2012
Loan ranger De Laet out to prove a point to Fergie at Norwich
By Chris Wheeler Last updated at 11:05 PM on 14th August 2011 Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley might be proving that there is life at Old Trafford after leaving Manchester United on loan, but Ritchie De Laet knows he has his work cut out to impress Sir Alex Ferguson during his spell at Norwich. The Belgian defender, who made just three Premier League appearances for United following a surprise move from Stoke in January 2009, had a rude awakening on his return to the top-flight as the newly-promoted Canaries drew their first game 1-1 at Wigan. De Laet conceded the penalty that enabled Ben Watson to fire Wigan ahead when he was robbed by Franco Di Santo on halfway and then brought down the Argentine striker. The 22-year-old made amends with two late goal-line blocks to deny Victor Moses and Hugo Rodallega after Wes Hoolahan had equalised for Norwich, but De Laet realises he cannot afford to make many more errors like that one with Paul Lambert's side already facing an uphill battle. 'I don't know if it was a penalty or not but it was a mistake and that's not going to happen again, you can be sure of that,' he said. 'Hopefully I did well in the end. 'It's the quality of the strikers at this level. They go 100 miles per hour, they're quick and they're strong, so if you make a mistake it's a goal or, like today, a penalty.' De Laet played on loan for three Championship clubs – Sheffield United, Preston and Portsmouth – last season before United allowed him to join Norwich for the new campaign. But while Welbeck and Cleverley are now flourishing in the first-team at Old Trafford after going out on loan, De Laet knows the arrival of England Under-21 defender Phil Jones for £16.5million this summer has only increased the competition for places as he tries to convince Ferguson and his scouts that he has a future at the club. 'It's something I'm looking for but I want to do well for Norwich this season,' added De Laet. 'I don't want to think about next year or the year after. It's far away. What happens at United happens. 'You've got to do well on loan. I made that mistake but I can make up for it throughout the season and see what happens. 'United play the same teams and against the same players, and if I can produce good performances against those players then United know I can handle them. 'Sir Alex Ferguson just wished me all the best for the season, and told me to try and do well for Norwich and well for myself. 'United aren't going to tell me when they're going to come and watch a game but I think that's their aim. They'll send out some scouts, see how I do, and if I go back next year then we'll go from there.' De Laet also hopes his cause will be helped by joining a team who like to play attractive football. Norwich looked more comfortable on the ball for long periods and would not have been flattered by a win. De Laet believes it has sent out a message to those people predicting a swift return to the Championship for the Canaries. He said: 'Hopefully we've showed that we can play football and we're not going to change because we're in the Premier League now. 'We want to get the ball down and play football. We've got the players to do that and the strikers who can score goals. 'Wigan didn't too well last season themselves and want to do well this year, so it's always hard to come away from home in the Premier League. I hope we've proven today that we can handle it.'
