Default Re: Premier League - News and Rumors

Louis van Gaal is the new 'Tinkerman'... Manchester United boss has used 33 players in five matches this season, five more than any other Premier League side

* Manchester United have used 33 players in just five matches this season
* Louis van Gaal has fielded five more players than Crystal Palace in second
* Crystal Palace have used second-most players with 28 in five games
* Hull City third with 27 players used but have played three more matches
* Everton fielded just 17 in four games, Chelsea and Southampton 18 in five
* Claudio Ranieri, the original 'Tinkerman', appointed on September 18, 2000
* Louis van Gaal has used one goalkeeper, six forwards and nine defenders
* He has used 26 in Premier League alone, three more than any other side
* The Dutchman has also played an incredible 17 different midfielders
* Luke Shaw and Michael Carrick yet to play this season so it could reach 35

Louis van Gaal is a fan of the rotation policy judging by his start to life as Manchester United manager.

The Dutchman has spent north of £150million buying stars from across the globe but does not seem so sure how he is going to fit them all in, using 33 players in just five matches this season.

And 14 years after Claudio Ranieri, the original 'Tinkerman', was appointed as Chelsea boss on September 18, 2000, it seems fitting that a new Premier League manager is willing to experiment.

Louis van Gaal has become the new 'Tinkerman' after fielding 33 different players in five matches this year

Claudio Ranieri (pictured), who was appointed Chelsea boss exactly 14 years ago, was branded as the original 'Tinkerman' due to a perceived over-rotation of his squad during his tenure at Stamford Bridge

Quote:
MAN UNITED PLAYERS WHO HAVE MADE AN APPEARANCE UNDER VAN GAAL

Manchester United have used 33 players so far this season in just five matches.

Louis van Gaal has used one goalkeeper, nine defenders, six forwards and an incredible 17 different midfielders in four Premier League fixtures and one league cup match.

Goalkeepers (1): David de Gea.

Defenders (9): Tyler Blackett, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Michael Keane, Marnick Vermijl, Reece James, Jonny Evans, Marcos Rojo, Rafael.

Midfielders (17): Jesse Lingard, Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata, Nani (now on loan at Sporting Lisbon), Antonio Valencia, Tom Cleverley (now on loan at Aston Villa), Anderson, Saidy Janko, Andreas Pereira, Shinji Kagawa (now at Borussia Dortmund), Nick Powell (now on loan at Leicester City), Angel di Maria, Daley Blind.

Forwards (6): Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Danny Welbeck (now at Arsenal), Javier Hernandez (now on loan at Real Madrid), James Wilson, Radamel Falcao.
United have had four matches in the Premier League and one in the Capital One Cup and have used five more players than any other top-flight side.
Crystal Palace are second having used 28 players in five matches, with Hull City third on 27 (although they have played eight games this season).

Everton have played the fewest matches (four) and have rotated their squad the least - with just 17 different Toffees have taken to the field - while Chelsea and Southampton have used just 18 players in five matches each, indicating that Roberto Martinez, Jose Mourinho and Ronald Koeman are all happy with their squads.

Van Gaal has fielded 26 different players in the Premier League alone, three greater than the next most-rotated sides Hull and QPR.

With seven new faces at Old Trafford this summer - including Radamel Falcao, Angel di Maria and Daley Blind - Van Gaal has arguably become the new 'Tinkerman' after changing his side drastically for each match so far this season.

Crystal Palace have fielded the second highest number of players this year, having used 28 in five matches

Quote:
NUMBER OF PLAYERS USED BY PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS (2014-15)

1) Manchester United - 33 players (five games in all competitions)
2) Crystal Palace - 28 (five games)
3) Hull City - 27 (eight games)
4) Queens Park Rangers - 25 (five games)
=4) West Ham United - 25 (five games)
6) Manchester City - 24 (six games)
=6) Stoke City - 24 (five games)
=6) Tottenham Hotspur - 24 (five games)
9) West Bromwich Albion - 22 (five games)
=9) Arsenal - 22 (eight games)
11) Leciester City - 21 (five games)
=11) Liverpool - 21 (five games)
= 11) Swansea City - 21 (five games)
14) Burnley - 20 (five games)
=14) Newcastle United - 20 (five games)
=14) Sunderland - 20 (five games)
17) Aston Villa - 19 (five games)
18) Chelsea - 18 (five games)
=18) Southampton - 18 (five games)
20) Everton - 17 (four games)

*Stats provided by Opta
Ranieri was famously given that moniker for what was perceived as his over-rotation of his Chelsea squad during his four years at Stamford Bridge (2000-04), but it seems that Van Gaal has taken on the mantle.

In the Dutchman's defence, United have been ravaged by injuries, and Van Gaal has also tried to give youngsters their opportunity in the first team.

Yet he also gave game-time to players such as Nani, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley and Shinji Kagawa before discarding them and allowing them to leave the club.

He has also had a look at relatively unknown players Marnick Vermijl, Saidy Janko and Reece James.

Interestingly, the one position Van Gaal has not rotated is his goalkeeper - with David de Gea having featured in all five of United's fixtures in both league and cup.

In total, United have used nine defenders, six forwards and a staggering 17 midfielders, as well as De Gea, in just five matches so far this season.

And, with Van Gaal's history of fielding academy players, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that he will continue to blood an even greater number of youngsters as the season progresses.

Amazingly, Luke Shaw is yet to make his debut and Michael Carrick has been injured all season, so Van Gaal is almost guaranteed to field at least 35 different players this campaign.

And who knows how many more there will be if United repeat the summer spending spree in the next transfer window.

David de Gea is the only goalkeeper Van Gaal has used, despite having fielded 33 different players

Wanyama becomes first Kenyan goalscorer in the BPL
Kenya is the 91st different nation to have a goalscorer in Barclays Premier League history

By scoring the winning goal against Swansea City on Saturday Victor Wanyama not only registered his first goal in Southampton colours but became the first Kenyan to score in the Barclays Premier League.

The strike by the 23-year-old former Celtic midfielder means that players from 91 different nations have scored in the English top flight since its inaugural season in 1992/93. The last goalscorer before Wanyama to put his country's flag on the BPL map for the first time was Fernando Amorebieta, of Venezuela, who was on target for Fulham in April. The defender's goal followed that of Kei Kamara, of Norwich City, in February 2013, who flew the flag for Sierra Leone.

Two years earlier Stefan Savic had become the first Montenegrin to score in the BPL, in October 2011, six months after his Manchester City team-mate Edin Dzeko had similarly broken new ground for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is no surprise that England is the country to have produced the most goalscorers in the Barclays Premier League, with 747 players amassing 9,754 goals. Scotland are second on that list with 106 scorers, two ahead of France, although the French have outscored the Scots by 1,291 to 888.

The Republic of Ireland lie fourth on the list with 92 scorers while the Netherlands have produced the fifth-most marksmen with 67 – four more than Wales. Spain come next with 50 scorers, and Italy, Brazil, Northern Ireland and Norway complete the top 10. The five nations who have scored only one goal in the BPL are Kenya, Venezuela, Sierra Leone, Poland and St Kitts and Nevis.

There are 15 further nations to have been represented in the English top flight whose players have yet to find the net, including Albania, Bolivia, Cape Verde Islands and the Faroe Islands but until January at least, only one further nation can join the list: Zambia, whose striker Emmanuel Mayuka, is on the books of Southampton.

There have been two Barclays Premier League matches in which players from seven different nations have scored. Arsenal's 6-2 defeat of Blackburn Rovers in October 2009 produced goals from Belgium's Thomas Vermaelen, Denmark's Nicklas Bendtner, Englishmen David Dunn and Theo Walcott, France's Steven N'Zonzi, Dutchman Robin van Persie, Russia's Andrey Arshavin and Spain's Cesc Fabregas.

In March 2002 Newcastle United boasted goals by England's Alan Shearer, France's Olivier Bernard, Guyana's Carl Cort, Peru's Nolberto Solano, and Republic of Ireland's Andy O’Brien in their 6-2 win over Everton. The Toffees responded through Duncan Ferguson and Niclas Alexandersson of Scotland and Sweden respectively.

Excluding English players, who have scored as many as eight, the record number of goals scored by players from the same country in a single BPL match is five, which has happened on six occasions. Argentina (Norwich City 1-6 Manchester City, 14 April 2012); Brazil (Middlesbrough 8-1 Man City; 11 May 2008), France (Arsenal 5-0 Leeds United, 16 April 2004); Australia (Charlton Athletic 1-6 Leeds United, 5 April 2003) and the Netherlands (Arsenal 5-1 Middlesbrough, 20 November 1999) all claimed five goals. Bulgaria also produced five in a single match (Manchester United 7-1 Blackburn Rovers, 27 November, 2010) with striker Dimitar Berbatov claiming five for himself.

Premier League eye up games in the USA as possibility of an extra fixture is raised

* Plans for an overseas set of matches are in an early stage
* Would appeal to the Premier League's huge global audience
* Ill-fated 'Game 39' proposal saw top flight chief Richard Scudamore widely criticised
* Top teams go on lucrative pre-season tours of the US to tap into the market
* Would follow on from the hugely successful NFL games held at Wembley

The Premier League could host a round of games abroad in the future.

Plans for an overseas set of matches are in an embryonic stage, but would appeal to the English top-flight’s huge global audience.

Any chance to boost revenue from abroad would be met with support from the clubs, while the crowd of 51,014 that attended Manchester United’s pre-season clash with Liverpool in Miami, after 109,318 saw United beat Real Madrid in Michigan, will encourage League chiefs.

A round of matches played abroad in late November or early December would be ideal for US audiences, while it would also bring the Premier League in line with the NFL staging games at Wembley.

Manchester United vs Liverpool was one of the many huge clashes between Premier League clubs in the USA

A huge crowd of almost 110,000 people watches Manchester United take on Real Madrid at Michigan Stadium in August

The ill-fated ‘Game 39’ proposal — an extra match added to the League season to be played abroad — saw Premier League chief Richard Scudamore widely criticised six years ago. But at the start of this season, Scudamore reiterated his desire to showcase the top flight abroad.

He said: ‘The clubs wanted it then [in 2008] and they would all probably want it now. It will happen at some point. Whether it’s on my watch, who knows?’

Now, any foreign-based matches would seemingly be worked into the existing 38-game League format. Plans are also afoot to introduce a winter break midway through the season in an effort to help the England national side.

However, the FA would need to break with tradition by scrapping FA Cup replays and the two-legged League Cup semi-final to free up extra space in the calendar.

The lack of a winter break is often cited as a reason for England’s poor performances in tournaments, with every other major European league enjoying time off over Christmas.

Pemain Paling Sering Jadi Penyebab Penalti
1. Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal) 7
2. Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal) 6
3. Sebastian Bassong (Norwich City) 5
4. Martin Skrtel (Liverpool) 5
5. Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City) 5

Sky and BT TV matches for December announced - including Manchester United vs Liverpool

The festive period will see plenty of top-flight action with Sky showing 16 live games through the final month of 2014 and on January 1 and BT airing 9

Sky Sports and BT Sport have revealed the Premier League matches they will show live between December and during the festive period.

And featuring prominently among the fixtures is the mouthwatering Manchester United vs Liverpool clash, which will be on Sky Sports on Sunday December 14, with a 1:30pm kickoff.

Brendan Rodgers' Reds won 3-0 away to their arch-rivals last season, in one of David Moyes' final appearances as boss of the Old Trafford giants. Can Louis van Gaal take three points in his first competitive meeting against United's most bitter rivals?

Other standout encounters on Sky Sports include Manchester City vs Everton (December 6), the Tyne-Wear derby (December 21), Liverpool vs Arsenal (December 21) and Chelsea vs West Ham (Boxing Day).

BT Sport offer up Arsenal vs surprise early-season force Southampton (December 3), a Boxing Day double of Manchester United vs Newcastle and Arsenal vs QPR and the visits of Man United and Chelsea to Tottenham.

Sky Sports managing director Barney Francis said: "We offer our viewers more of the games that matter from the Barclays Premier League and that continues with a fantastic line up of fixtures for December and the New Year.

"Viewers can enjoy all the stories from both ends of the table, huge fixtures – including Manchester United against Liverpool – plus at least three matches a week. We can’t wait.”

By the end of the year, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will each have been shown live by Sky Sports this season at least eight times.

BT's selection of nine matches will feature Manchester United, Arsenal, champions Manchester City, current leaders Chelsea and Tottenham twice each.

Chelsea dominate Premier League team of the season so far... but who else has made the cut along with Diego Costa?

* The EA Sports Player Performance Index crunches all the numbers each week to create the definitive ranking of Premier League stars
* The latest dream team features seven players from leaders Chelsea
* Thibaut Courtois, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic are keeping it tight at the back
* Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard support Diego Costa going forward
* Ryan Bertrand, Raheem Sterling, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Sergio Aguero also make the best XI

The October international break is always an ideal time to take a step back and reflect on the state of the Barclays Premier League.

Seven rounds of fixtures have been completed and the table is starting to settle into some kind of shape. Some players have been in scorching form while others are still searching for their rhythm.

So to find out who has been on top of their game, we commissioned the EA Sports Player Performance Index (PPI) - the official player rating index of the Premier League - to pick the best XI of the season so far.

Quote:
HOW THE FIGURES ARE COMPILED

The EA Sports Player Performance Index was created to settle debates about who is the most complete footballer in the Barclays Premier League.

It uses six measures to generate an overall Season Index, which is then used to rank all the players.

The six indices are: Winning performance (players receive more points if their side is winning), Player Performance (points are awarded for shots on target, tackles, saves etc), Appearances (points for minutes on the pitch), Goals, Assists and Clean Sheets.
GK - Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)

Season Index: 86

The Belgium No 1 has made the transition from La Liga - where he had spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid - to the Premier League look effortless. Courtois has made 14 important saves in his seven league appearances to date, helping Chelsea establish a handy early lead at the summit.

DEF - Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)

Season Index: 116

Regular watchers of Chelsea will appreciate that Azpilicueta deserves as many plaudits as Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard this season. An absolute bedrock at the back for the league leaders, the Spaniard has won 24 tackles, made 31 clearances and 14 interceptions in his seven appearances so far.

DEF - Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)

Season Index: 138

The highest-rated defender on the EA Sports Index, ever-present Ivanovic has been pretty much unbeatable at the back as Chelsea soared to the top. He has shown a strong all-round game, with not only 28 clearances and 18 tackles won, but also 16 crosses and 11 dribbles forward. Ivanovic has also scored twice, against Burnley on the opening weekend and in the 6-3 win over Everton.

DEF - Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

Season Index: 112

Another key ingredient in Chelsea's early season success has been Cahill, who has continued his good form from last season. The England centre half, also an ever-present in the side, has cleared the ball 42 times and made eight blocks.

DEF - Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)

Season Index: 128

Completing the Chelsea flavour at the back is Bertrand, currently out on loan at Southampton. The left back has been integral in the positive run of results that sees the Saints third in the standings. In line with Ronald Koeman's approach, Bertrand has been flying down the wing, attempting 29 crosses in the seven games to date. He also found the net in the 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.

MID - Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Season Index: 188

As he showed on Sunday with that outstanding display against Arsenal, Hazard is a man for the big occasion. The Belgian has been exceptional so far this season and is the highest-rated midfielder in the EA Sports PPI. He has attempted 325 passes in his 595 minutes on the pitch so far, and 296 of these were accurate. Hazard has also contributed two assists and scored twice - against Leicester in the second match of the campaign and that penalty in the London derby last weekend.

MID - Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

Season Index: 176

It has been a delight to see Fabregas back in the Premier League with his metronomic passing, but his creativity was the main reason Jose Mourinho moved so swiftly to secure his signature ahead of old club Arsenal in the summer. The Spanish maestro has contributed seven assists so far, more than anyone at Chelsea in the whole of last season, and has accurately completed 511 of 569 attempted.

MID - Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City)

Season Index: 168

The Icelandic midfielder has been given a new lease of life since swapping Tottenham for Swansea over the summer and his all-round contribution has been noted in the PPI. Swansea are fifth in the table, exceeding almost all expectations, and Sigurdsson has had a hand in seven of their 10 goals. He scored on the opening day win at Old Trafford and hasn't looked back.

MID - Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Season Index: 172

It may have been a disappointing start to the season for Liverpool but Raheem Sterling is one of the few in the team to be maintaining last season's standards. His direct running style is highlighted by 38 dribbles, while he has successfully completed 172 of 187 passes. Most importantly, Sterling has scored three Premier League goals and added two assists.

FWD - Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Season Index: 166

Champions City have been caught out a little by Chelsea's scorching start to the season but Sergio Aguero has been at the forefront of everything good they've done. The Argentine has scored five goals in the league and looked a constant menace when Manuel Pellegrini's team are on the attack.

FWD - Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Season Index: 287

It won't surprise you to learn that Costa stands head and shoulders above everyone else in the PPI. Indeed he is the only one to have surpassed the 200-point mark. Adapting to life in the Premier League with consummate ease and feeling no pressure from his £32m price tag, the Spaniard has nine goals to his credit already, propelling Chelsea to the top.

Fakta Unik Sepak Bola Inggris Hasil Riset The BBC

Kenapa kue pie ? Karena padda umumnya kue pie menjadi camilan para suporter sebelum menonton aksi bintang pujaan mereka bermain.
Radamel Falcao striker Manchester United memiliki gaji bersih setelah dipotong pajak per pekan sekitar 189 ribu pounds.

Suporter sepak bola Inggris terbiasa menikmati makanan ringan sebelum meonton pertandingan.
