Manchester - Edwin van Der Sar mengaku terkejut bisa bermukim hampir enam musim bersama Manchester United. Dan di musim keenamnya ini kiper asal Belanda itu ingin mendapat kejutan di pekan terakhir Liga Inggris. Apa?

Van Der Sar bergabung ke MU pada 2005 dari Fulham. Seketika Van Der Sar pun langsung jadi pilihan utama di bawah mistar gawang 'Setan Merah' dan tak tergantikan. Ketenangan dan pengalamannya bermain di klub-klub besar Eropa macam Ajax Amsterdam serta Juventus jadi nilai lebih di mata Sir Alex Ferguson.

Meski akan memasuki usia ke-40, toh Van Der Sar masih saja diandalkan Fergie dan buktinya perpanjangan kontrak setahun pun diberikan padanya.

Total pemain yang akan merencanakan pensiun tahun depan itu telah menyumbang tiga titel Premiership dan satu trofi Liga Champions dari 229 kali penampilannya.

"Saya masih percaya saya telah cukup untuk bermain di tim besar tapi anda butuh seseorang untuk mempertaruhkan semuanya dan Sir Alex Ferguson melakukannya. Ketika saya berumur 34 tahun saya tidak mengharapkan bisa berada di sini selama enam musim," ungkap Van Der Sar di Sky Sports.

"Saya kira saya hanya dua tahun saja di United dan mungkin pergi dan melakukan hal lain. Tapi kenyataannya saya masih di sini untuk meraih testimonial," sambungnya.

Lalu apa yang ingin kau dapatkan di musim keenammu bersama The Red Devils, Edwin? Van Der Sar pun mau sebuah kejutan terjadi di Stamford Bridge saat Chelsea menghadapi Wigan Athletic dalam partai pamungkas Liga Inggris musim ini.

Hasil seri atau kalah yang didapat Chelsea dibarengi dengan kemenangan MU atas Stoke City akan membuat Van Der Sar meraih titel Liga Inggris keempatnya serta no.19 buat klubnya.

"Ini sangat aneh. Dalam tiga musim terakhir kami yang memegang kendali. Tapi kami kini harus menunggu. Ini akan sulit," aku kiper bertinggi badan 197 cm itu.

"Kami banyak mengalami kekalahan musim ini namun masih dalam jalur perebutan gelar juara. Mudah-mudahan Wigan akan tampil sepenuh hati hari Minggu nanti dan kami akan mendengar berita positif," tutup pengoleksi 130 caps untuk 'Tim Oranye' itu.

Wayne pain: Rooney limped off injured against Stoke

Wayne Rooney sparked a World Cup scare when he limped out of Manchester United's 4-0 win over Stoke at Old Trafford.

Hindered by groin and ankle problems over the final month of the campaign and with hopes of landing either the Premier League title or the Golden Boot wrecked by Chelsea's avalanche of goals at Stamford Bridge, Rooney signalled to the bench he could not continue as his side strolled to victory against Stoke.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed it was a recurrence of his groin problem, but believes it will not stop his top scorer going to the World Cup.

Rarely can a four-goal win, achieved through Darren Fletcher, Ryan Giggs, a Danny Higginbotham own goal and Ji-sung Park, be greeted in such a downbeat manner.

There was plenty of noise at the end, although that was mainly due to the number of whistles being blown in protest at the Glazer family's continued ownership.

United strode out at Old Trafford hoping for a miracle, whilst being realistic enough to understand dreams of this magnitude simply do not come true. By the time Giggs had turned home his 155th Red Devils goal, the title had been lost.

Where it all went wrong is not easy to pinpoint. Losing seven games is normally an insurmountable handicap but in a switchback season such as this one, it was not necessarily so.

United's attitude was admirable as Stoke's supporters rubbed in every Chelsea goal with a loud cheer of celebration.

After berating Nani for a poor cross, Rooney delivered the low effort that Higginbotham turned into his own net as he desperately tried to prevent a United player putting in there; Nani and Berbatov queuing up to finish.

Rooney made his exit later on to spark the game's major talking point. His replacement, Park, rounded off the scoring when he met Giggs' corner with a firm diving header.
