Van der Sar kabarnya udah ancang2 menolak. Isu terakhir dari Atl Madrid ini lumayan kenceng. Tapi jikalau apabila andaikata which is Mou beneran di-fired dan Monsieour Zidane masuk replacing Mou, apakah United still perlu Director of Football?

UNITED LEGENDS GATHER FOR LIAM MILLER TRIBUTE MATCH
Denis Irwin, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Roy Keane were among the former Manchester United stars who took part in a tribute match in memory of the late Liam Miller on Tuesday.

The United Legends team, managed and captained by Keane, beat a combined Celtic and Republic of Ireland side on penalties after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes.

The game took place in front of 45,000 fans at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, a GAA stadium in Cork, Miller’s hometown. The proceeds from the match will be donated to Liam’s wife Clare and several deserving charities.

Miller, who passed away in February at the age of 36, made 22 appearances for United after moving from Celtic in 2004. He also played for Leeds United, Sunderland, Hibernian and earned 21 international caps for the Republic of Ireland.

Before the game, the players were greeted by Irish president Michael Higgins, stood for a rendition of the Irish national anthem and observed a minute’s silence in memory of the former United and Celtic midfielder.

When the game began, it was Cork-born Denis Irwin who fittingly opened the scoring for United, converting a 19th-minute penalty earned by Nicky Butt.

Soon after, the Reds doubled their lead through Louis Saha. The Frenchman latched onto a long ball from Giggs, outpaced the opposition defence and unleashed a powerful right-footed shot past David Forde.

However, the Celtic and Ireland XI pulled one back just before half-time through Robbie Keane, who was a constant nuisance for the United defence.

Both sides made a number of changes in the second half, with Keane coming on for United and being treated to a rapturous reception from the crowd.

The home side, managed by former Celtic and current Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill, finished the game strongly and managed to nick a late goal through Colin Healy.

Damien Duff’s in-swinging cross was flicked on by Kevin Doyle and Healy rifled the ball into the net to ensure the game went to penalties.

David May, Saha and Dion Dublin converted their spot-kicks to help the Reds to a 3-2 victory in the shootout.

'LIAM, YOU'RE NOT FORGOTTEN'

“Look around the stadium and it's absolutely jam-packed – there's not an empty seat in the house,” Dublin told MUTV after the game. “Everybody's enjoyed themselves – it's a fantastic turn-out and well done to everybody for coming.

”We came for the right reasons and I'm really glad all the boys turned out. It's all about the Miller family. Liam, you're not forgotten.“

United starting XI: Pilkington, Neville, Brown, Silvestre, Irwin, Butt, Scholes, O’Shea, Smith, Giggs, Saha.

Subs: McNulty, May, Johnsen, Clegg, Fortune, Keane, Dublin, Cole,

Celtic starting XI: Forde, Carr, Dunne, Mjalby, Harte, Lambert, Petrov, Kilbane, Maloney, Keane, Duff.

Subs: Cunningham, McManus, Healy, Kelly, Harte, Andrews, Kavanagh, McPhail, Reid, Doyle, Hartson, McKinlay.

Manchester United consider introducing gender-neutral toilets to Old Trafford in a bid to make the iconic stadium 'welcoming and inclusive'

* Manchester United consider introducing gender-neutral loos at Old Trafford

Manchester United are considering introducing gender-neutral toilets in a bid to make Old Trafford 'welcoming and inclusive'.

Supporters of the concept say they are a practical solution for many people. Gender-neutral toilets are also seen by some as beneficial to the disabled and to parents with children.

However, critics say they take away a safe space for women.

Manchester United are considering introducing gender-neutral toilets at Old Trafford. If United proceed with the idea, they would be the first top-flight club with the facility

The BBC, Home Office and Channel 4 are among those who provide gender-neutral toilets at their bases.

Last November, Swansea City gave fans the option of being identified as gender neutral on tickets.

United are looking at the idea and, if they proceed, they would be the first top-flight club with the facility.

United are also fitting 'hostile vehicle mitigation bollards' to create a ring of steel around Old Trafford.

The anti-terror devices, designed to prevent attacks by vehicles used as weapons, will be installed before 2019.

The club will continue to suspend matchday train services which, until December 2017, allowed fans to disembark at a platform behind the South Stand.

SEVEN UNITED GAMES MOVED FOR TV

Seven of Manchester United's Premier League fixtures across December 2018 and January 2019 have been moved for TV coverage, including key clashes against Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The first affected outing is a visit to Southampton on Saturday 1 December, which will now kick off at the later time of 17:30 GMT. A midweek clash against Arsenal at 20:00 GMT then follows four days later, having been pushed back 24 hours.

Unsurprisingly, the always eagerly-anticipated trip to face Liverpool at Anfield has been selected for broadcast in the UK on Sunday 16 December at 16:00 GMT. Jose Mourinho's men travel to Cardiff City the following Saturday for another early-evening affair at 17:30 GMT.

The year ends with a home fixture against Bournemouth on Sunday 30 December at 16:30 GMT, originally scheduled for the previous day, before the Reds start 2019 by journeying to the North East to take on Newcastle.

Instead of being played on New Year's Day, that game at St James' Park will now take place on Wednesday 2 January at 20:00 GMT.

Finally for this round of changes, United will now play Tottenham on Sunday 13 January at 16:30 GMT, in what is set to be our first visit to Spurs' new stadium.

In addition to the Premier League commitments, there will be at least one more game to be added to the winter schedule. The Emirates FA Cup third-round ties will be played on the weekend of 5/6 January, with the fourth round following three weeks later.

THE SEVEN FIXTURE CHANGES

Manchester United quiet on rumours of takeover bid from Saudi Crown Prince

Wayne Rooney of Manchester United dances at the palace of HRH Prince Abdullah bin Mosa'ad bin Abdullaziz in 2008 during a club visit to Riyadh.

Manchester United did not comment on Monday night about reports that Saudi Arabia is interested in buying the club. It had been claimed that Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman - the son of King Salman of Saudi Arabia - is considering bidding for the Glazer family's private shares in United.

Saudi's ruling family have long been linked with a takeover of United and the club have a strong working relationship with the country.

Saudi Telecom are their longest running commercial partner and last year United entered into a "strategic partnership" with the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia which involves United "lending its business and sporting expertise to clubs, sporting authorities and individuals in Saudi Arabia".

The Glazers have earned huge windfalls by selling tranches of so-called 'B' shares that carry no voting rights in recent years but the Americans retain complete control of the club and have always dismissed any idea of a sale in the past.

The reports come at a time of acute political controversy with governments around the world demanding answers from Saudi Arabia after journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a critic of Prince Mohammad who has written for the Washington Post, went missing from the Saudi consulate in Istanbul two weeks ago.

Turkish officials believe Mr Khashoggi was murdered in the consulate by Saudi agents but Riyadh has strongly denied this.

Wah United ternyata peduli Indonesia..

UNITED SUPPORT UNICEF'S INDONESIA APPEAL

Manchester United has supported its global charity partner, UNICEF, in the aid appeal following last month’s devastating earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia.

The club has made a donation to help children affected by the disaster, which is thought to have affected 1.5 million people.

Search and rescue efforts are continuing as teams search for survivors under collapsed buildings after the 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck just off the central island of Sulawesi on 29 September, which subsequently triggered a tsunami with waves of up to six metres high. By 9 October, 2,010 people had been confirmed dead, with over 10,000 people injured or seriously missing.

Mike Penrose, Executive Director of UNICEF UK, said: “On behalf of UNICEF, I want to say a huge thank you to Manchester United and its players for responding so quickly with support following the devastating earthquake in Indonesia.

“Children are in desperate need of life-saving food, water and medicine as well as a safe space to learn and be protected. It is our aim to ensure that children caught up in emergencies like this have the chance to rebuild their lives – through access to quick and sustainable support.

“Manchester United’s donation will enable UNICEF to reach and protect even more of the most vulnerable children.”

In the aftermath of the disaster, a number of Reds posted positive messages on social media, including David De Gea and Paul Pogba.

United have been working in partnership with UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation, for the last 19 years, helping to create a safer world for young people. The club also holds an annual United for UNICEF Gala Dinner, which raised more than £170,000 last year.

The United for UNICEF partnership is the longest running of its kind between a football club and a global children’s organisation and to date has raised over £4 million, helping to change the lives of millions of children worldwide.

HOW CAN I DONATE?

Last week, UNICEF launched a combined emergency and recovery appeal to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of children over the next six months. The funds will help provide water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), health, nutrition, education and child protection services for an estimated 475,000 children, as part of the response led by the Government of Indonesia.

Fans can make a donation to the appeal by visiting https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/ind...-safe-man-utd/.

If you live in the United Kingdom and would prefer to make a donation by phone, you can call UNICEF’s dedicated donation line on 0300 034 9993.

Manchester United respond to Champions League pitch invasions by ordering security review after three intruders interrupted Juventus game

* Three fans got onto the pitch during Manchester United's 1-0 loss to Juventus
* Two of the pitch invaders were trying to get close to Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo
* UEFA charged United who have launched a review of their security protocols

Manchester United have launched a review of their pitchside security protocols after three supporters got onto the field during their Champions League clash with Juventus.

UEFA has charged the Old Trafford giants for the 'field invasion' during Tuesday night's Group H encounter, won 1-0 by the perennial Italian champions.

Shortly after play got under way, a fan ran across the pitch, with his hand down the back of his trousers, before belatedly being restrained by stewards close to the players.

A pitch invader storms the field during Manchester United's defeat by Juventus this week. The intruder is led away from the field by stewards who were slow to catch him on Tuesday

Two further people made it onto the field at the end of the match as they sought to get close to former United hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed to Press Association Sport that one man remained in custody on Wednesday afternoon after being arrested on suspicion of pitch invasion, while the club has vowed to reassess their security.

A United spokesperson told Press Association Sport: 'We will be responding to the UEFA charge and we are reviewing our pitchside security protocols in the light of the pitch incursions at last night's game'.

Tottenham were fined £11,870 by UEFA in December 2014 after three pitch invasions during a Europa League match against Partizan Belgrade, while spectators recently made it onto the field during the World Cup final.

The charge against United will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on November 22, but European football's governing body has not sanctioned the club for the team once again arriving late to Old Trafford.

United were last week fined around £13,000 by UEFA for their late arrival and the subsequent delayed kick-off of their Champions League match against Valencia.

Despite moving to a hotel just half-a-mile from the ground, the issues navigating their way through Manchester's traffic reappeared on Tuesday.

Juventus arrived 65 minutes before kick-off and United got to Old Trafford just 50 minutes before play got under way, while kick-off ended up being two minutes 10 seconds behind schedule on a night when manager Jose Mourinho decided to walk to the ground.

United clamp down on pyrotechnics by installing netting in front of the Juventus supporters

A spokesperson for the Manchester-Salford Inner Relief Route works, which are being jointly carried out by Manchester and Salford City Councils, told Press Association Sport: 'These major works will significantly improve traffic flow on this busy route once they have finished by increasing capacity at key junctions by up to 20 per cent.

'Unfortunately, there is no way to deliver these long-term improvements without some degree of short-time disruption and we recognise that is frustrating.

'But without these works the road would become more clogged long term and people would end up spending more time stuck in queues.

'We are doing all we can to complete these works as quickly and safely as realistically possible.

'In the meantime, we would continue to encourage people to adapt their travel plans wherever possible to avoid or reduce the impact on them.'

Meanwhile, United clamped down on pyrotechnics on Tuesday by installing netting in front of the Juventus fans, who were greeted by an increased security presence outside the ground.

Flares have been brought into several UEFA-organised matches at Old Trafford in recent years, with Basel and Benfica both charged with setting off fireworks in last season's group stage.

A spokesperson for United told Press Association Sport: 'We take extensive precautions to prevent individuals entering the ground with pyrotechnics.

'Following some recent incidents, we installed see-through netting in front of the away supporters for the Juventus game to ensure the safety of supporters, especially those in the accessibility area below, and also to prevent items being thrown onto the pitch.'

Manchester United mutiny: Stars snub sponsorship commitments in protest at consecutive travel gaffes

* A group of Man United players have refused to carry out sponsorship activities
* Stars were scheduled to take part in a session for United’s commercial partners
* They declined, saying they were making a point about recent travel issues
* Travel chaos has seen United be late for their last two home European matches

A group of disgruntled Manchester United players have refused to carry out sponsorship activities in protest at the club’s transport shambles.

A number of first-team stars were scheduled to take part in a session for United’s commercial partners on Thursday.

However, they declined, saying they were making a point about an embarrassing travel situation that has seen the build-up to the club’s last two home European matches thrown into chaos.

A group of disgruntled Man United players have refused to carry out sponsorship activities. Travel chaos has seen the United team arrive late for their last two European matches at home. Jose Mourinho declined to get involved but has made his feelings clear to senior management

Around five of Jose Mourinho’s squad attend the monthly event at United’s training complex, allowing sponsors to take pictures and film footage with the club’s players. But those on Thursday’s rota refused to appear, citing transport issues.

The development is certain to raise tension at the underperforming club, who are 10th in the Premier League table.

Mourinho declined to get involved. However, the manager, who has suggested on a number of occasions that he has not been backed sufficiently in the transfer market, has tried to ramp up pressure on executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Thursday’s revolt would appear to be more evidence of a disconnect between playing staff and senior management.

A number of players were expected to attend another sponsorship event on Friday evening, and Thursday’s refusal is being viewed as a one-off rather than an all-out strike. Privately, there is bemusement at the club that they appear to be being blamed for the congestion that has gripped the city.

On Thursday, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham revealed he had asked police, transport officials, councils and operators to carry out an urgent review into transport planning for midweek matchdays at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was pictured walking to the stadium before Tuesday night’s Champions League defeat at the hands of Juventus. United had switched from the city centre Lowry Hotel to the Hilton at nearby Lancashire County Cricket Club after a previous delay saw the kick-off of their fixture with Valencia delayed and the club fined.

However, the bus taking United the half-mile from one Old Trafford to the other got stuck in traffic, prompting the manager to proceed on foot.

Legendary Manchester United journalist David Meek dies aged 88

* Journalist David Meek, who covered Manchester United, died at the age of 88
* Meek stepped in to cover the club after the tragic Munich air disaster in 1958
* He went on to be one of the most influential regional writers of his generation

David Meek, perhaps the most influential regional football writer of his generation, has died at the age of 88.

Meek was a political columnist and leader writer on the Manchester Evening News in 1958 when the Munich air disaster claimed the life of the newspaper's Manchester United reporter Tom Jackson.

Asked to step into the role in tragic circumstances, Meek obliged.

Many years later he said: 'It was not something I'd previously considered but in an emergency you do whatever you can to help.

'I got to quite like the job. I did it for 37 years.'

David Meek, who became one of the most influential football writers of his generation, has died aged 88

Meek retired in 1996 but still wrote for United publications and 'ghosted' programme notes for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Meek urged patience by fans — and in the corridors of power at the Evening News — during Ferguson's difficult early years at United and the Scot never forgot that.

Socially, Meek was warm, generous and kindly. Professionally, nobody understood United better.

He is survived by his second wife Liz, with whom he had retired to live in Milton Keynes, son Andrew, daughter Joanna and step-daughter Emily.

Manchester United set to snub Gary Neville's Hotel Football as they continue to try and solve recent issues getting to Old Trafford on matchdays

* Manchester United are set to swerve staying at Gary Neville's Hotel Football
* The Red Devils are trying to put an end to their recent transport shambles
* United's European match with Valencia on October 2 had to be delayed
* A switch to the Hilton Garden Inn at Old Trafford cricket ground also didn't work

Manchester United are set to swerve Gary Neville's Hotel Football as their attempts to put an end to their transport shambles continue.

Preparations for midweek matches at Old Trafford this season have been hit by the traffic chaos currently gripping Manchester's roads.

Kick-off for United's Champions League match with Valencia on October 2 had to be put back five minutes after Jose Mourinho and his men were late arriving from their city centre hotel.

Manchester United are set to swerve Gary Neville's Hotel Football (right) for use on matchdays

And a switch to the Hilton Garden Inn, at nearby Old Trafford cricket ground, failed to have the desired effect as they again became stuck in jams before their fixture with Juventus three weeks later.

One of the options open to the club was to hold their pre-match preparations at Hotel Football, which is directly opposite Old Trafford and owned by Neville and a number of United legends.

However, Sportsmail understands that, while talks are ongoing, United are most likely to once again stay at the cricket ground and use a more straightforward route to the stadium than the one taken for the Juventus clash, with extra stewards and police being brought in to ensure the road is clear.

Prior to the Valencia clash, United left the city centre Lowry Hotel at 6pm but failed to arrive until 7.16pm because of an ongoing gridlock which has led Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to call for an urgent review.

Hotel Football, a short walk to Old Trafford, opened in 2015 and is often fully booked

Hotel Football, marked by the red pin, is directly outside Old Trafford on Sir Matt Busby Way

They were eventually fined £13,000 by UEFA for their late arrival and for the late kick-off.

Ahead of the Juventus match, United switched to the hotel at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, a mere half-a-mile away from the Theatre of Dreams. However, after again becoming stuck, Mourinho disembarked and made his way on foot to the stadium. As revealed by Sportsmail, a group of players subsequently refused to attend a sponsorship event in protest at the situation.

A stay at Hotel Football, which opened in 2015 and is also part-owned by Class of 92 stars Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville, would have represented something of a u-turn from United's hierarchy.

When the 10-storey project went before planners, United objected, claiming that it had insufficient parking. They also vowed to continue to oppose the scheme because of its impact on the area and 'the club's holistic vision for the continuing enhancement of the area surrounding the stadium'.
