[2018/2019] United Player and Goal of the Month
VOTE FOR UNITED'S PLAYER OF THE MONTH
It has been a difficult start to the season for Manchester United but we are still seeking our first Player of the Month of the 2018/19 campaign. As always, fans get the chance to vote for their star man, from a shortlist compiled by club journalists. Based on performances in the opening three fixtures of the Premier League – the win over Leicester City and defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur – our three contenders are Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba and Fred, for the reasons we'll outline below. FRED – 3 appearances, 0 goals The Brazilian has already earned plenty of respect from the United faithful for his energy and ability to drive the team forward. Jose has spoken of the midfielder's influence, on and off the pitch, and it is clear he has the potential to make a real mark at Old Trafford. An all-action display earned an ovation from the crowd when he was substituted on his debut against Leicester and he also worked hard, with little reward, against Spurs when managing to fire a shot wide in the opening seconds of the 3-0 reverse. LUKE SHAW – 3 appearances, 1 goal The left-back is a popular nominee for August's prize after an impressive opening to the season on a personal level. He capped a fine display during the game against Leicester with his first goal for the club, which proved to be the eventual winner against the Foxes, and could also hold his head high despite the two defeats since that Old Trafford triumph. Certainly, his contribution against Spurs suggested he did not deserve to be on the losing side and his positive contribution was acknowledged by Jose Mourinho afterwards. Could this be the first time he lands our Player of the Month accolade? PAUL POGBA – 3 appearances, 2 goals The World Cup winner was happy to return to action with little pre-season training under his belt as he skippered the side in the 2-1 victory over Leicester, earning our Man-of-the-Match award in the process. A clinical penalty past Kasper Schmeichel was our first goal of 2018/19 and he repeated the feat from 12 yards at Brighton, even if it was always going to be little more than a consolation. Although admitting he was not at his best at the Amex Stadium, he warrants recognition for his efforts against the Foxes and did go close with one shot from outside the box in the loss to Tottenham. Hopefully, there is much more to come from him – starting at Burnley on Sunday. Voting will close on Sunday at 14:00 BST, with the winner being announced early next week on ManUtd.com and in the new Manchester United Official App. www.manutd.com |

Re: [2018/2019] United Player and Goal of the Month
VOTE FOR AUGUST'S GOAL OF THE MONTH
The time has come to cast your vote for Manchester United's Goal of the Month in August. Luke Shaw represents the first team, following his first goal for the club in the 2-1 success over Leicester City at Old Trafford, as he kept his composure to drill the ball past Kasper Schmeichel. Under-18s striker Mason Greenwood has three entries on our seven-strong shortlist after his impressive start to the campaign for Neil Ryan's side. The youngster, who turns 17 in October, smashed a couple of fine efforts in the 3-3 draw with Derby County in the opening Academy game of the season and also put the finishing touch to a flowing team move in the excellent 3-1 victory at Liverpool. At Under-23s level, Tahith Chong's firm finish in the 2-2 draw at Fulham and Nishan Burkart's explosive drive in a 3-1 triumph against Aston Villa, after coming on as a substitute, are included. The final strike is the first of Charlie McCann's double in the Under-18s' 5-1 beating of Stoke City at The Cliff, which opened the scoring against the Potters. Goal of the Month contenders: A: Shaw – Leicester (H), 10 August B: Chong – Fulham U23s (A), 10 August C: Burkart – Aston Villa U23s (H), 17 August D: Greenwood – first goal, Derby U18s (H), 10 August E: Greenwood – second goal, Derby U18s (H), 10 August F: Greenwood – Liverpool U18s (A), 18 August G: McCann – first goal, Stoke U18s (H), 24 August www.manutd.com |

Re: [2018/2019] United Player and Goal of the Month
It was a trying end to September for Manchester United but we still have three nominees in the frame for our latest Player-of-the-Month award. Reds goalkeeper David De Gea, August's star man Luke Shaw and midfielder Marouane Fellaini are in contention for the prize, following their efforts throughout the month. The time period includes the wins over Watford, Burnley and Young Boys, draws with Wolves and Derby County (plus the subsequent penalty shoot-out defeat) and the weekend loss at West Ham United. Jose Mourinho's side began September brightly but are now looking to bounce back from a tough week by winning October's opening fixture, the Champions League game against Valencia at Old Trafford. Take a look at our brief summary of the trio's performances and then have your say... DAVID DE GEA - 5 appearances, 2 clean sheets Our no.1, and reigning Player of the Year, was particularly impressive in the victory at Watford, with a crucial stop in the dying seconds from Christian Kabasele preserving the three points. He also made a smart save to thwart Raul Jimenez against Wolves, arguably his best intervention of the month, and the Spaniard shut out Young Boys when they made a positive start in Bern. A clean sheet was also secured at Burnley and he was blameless in the reverse at West Ham. MAROUANE FELLAINI - 4 (2) appearances, 1 goal The big Belgian has played with his usual tenacity and determination, making an impact at both ends of the pitch. Of course, he scored the injury-time equaliser against Derby as a substitute, even if it ultimately proved in vain, but he has been a handful for defenders throughout the month. Indeed, it was his header back into the danger zone that allowed Chris Smalling to blast the eventual winner at Watford. Effective at clearing set-plays from his own area, he has earned praise from the manager for his form. LUKE SHAW - 4 appearances, 0 goals The left-back already has one monthly award to his name this term and has maintained a high level of performance, even if he has expressed disappointment at the way the last couple of Premier League games have gone. The defender missed the win at Watford, as a precaution after the head injury he sustained with England, and also sat out the Carabao Cup tie but he has still impressed with his efforts to get up and down the flank. It was his corner that led to Marcus Rashford scoring at the London Stadium last weekend, to register a first assist of the campaign. Voting will close on Tuesday at 20:00 BST, with the winner being announced later this week on ManUtd.com and in the new Manchester United Official App. www.manutd.com |

Re: [2018/2019] United Player and Goal of the Month
Sepertinya sih Martial yang menang
VOTE FOR OCTOBER'S PLAYER OF THE MONTH It is time to have your say on which Manchester United star becomes our Player of the Month for October. Luke Shaw won both the August and September prizes but his crown will be passed to another player this month with Victor Lindelof, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba nominated for the three-man shortlist. Juan Mata narrowly missed out on selection for his efforts in a period when the Reds were close to winning all three Premier League games, only being denied victory at Chelsea by an injury-time equaliser. The other October fixtures were in the Champions League - a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Juventus after a 0-0 draw with Valencia. Take a look at a summary of each nominee's month below before casting your vote... VICTOR LINDELOF - 3 appearances, 0 goals Although he only played in the last three games of the month, the Swede has really caught the eye and earned praise from manager Jose Mourinho. He handled the stern test against Juventus extremely well and was probably United's star man on the night at Old Trafford. The centre-back was unlucky not to be on the winning side at Chelsea and was excellent in the 2-1 victory over Everton, showing aggression to add to his composed qualities. As he shows signs that he is fully integrated now, the future is beginning to look bright for the 24-year-old. ANTHONY MARTIAL - 4 (1) appearances, 4 goals After coming off the bench in the stalemate with Valencia, he has forced his way back into the side and looked the part with some stunning displays. The fans' favourite scored a fine equaliser in the thrilling comeback victory over Newcastle United and then became the first Red to score twice at Stamford Bridge since 2012, when Ryan Giggs bagged a brace in a 5-4 League Cup defeat. With the Frenchman clearly in fabulous form, he sparkled in the success against Everton, earning the penalty and bending a wonder goal past Jordan Pickford for the eventual winner. The 22-year-old won three monthly awards last season, including the one for October, and is a strong contender this time around. PAUL POGBA - 5 appearances, 1 goal The influential midfielder has maintained a consistent level of form to earn a second nomination for Player of the Month this season. He has found the net once in this period, stroking home the rebound after Everton no.1 Pickford saved his penalty, but offered so much more with his promptings and powerful play. Moving deeper for the second half against Newcastle, his dominant display was one of the reasons why United were able to turn the game around and he was also impressive in the second 45 minutes at Chelsea. On a tough night against his former club Juventus, he was one of the Reds' better performers, going closest to an equaliser when hitting a post, and he has assisted Martial for two of his fellow Frenchman's strikes this month. NOW HAVE YOUR SAY Vote for October's Player of the Month in our poll here. Voting will close on Wednesday at midnight GMT, with the winner being announced later this week on ManUtd.com. www.manutd.com |
