West Ham are close to a free transfer swoop for Jesse Lingard after the midfielder left Manchester United with the Hammers in talks over a reunion after his impressive loan spell last year

* Jesse Lingard is a key target for West Ham United boss David Moyes this summer
* The Manchester United attacking midfielder will become a free agent next week
* Lingard will leave his boyhood club after ten years with his boyhood club
* The England midfielder has been considering offers while on holiday in Miami

West Ham are close to sealing a free transfer for Jesse Lingard after holding further talks with the England midfielder, as the Hammers attempt to lure him back to the London Stadium.

Lingard is a free agent from the end of next week as his Manchester United contract runs out and has been evaluating offers after a break in Miami.

West Ham made an approach at the end of the season and are going back with a new offer for the 29-year-old.

West Ham are closing in on a free transfer for Jesse Lingard after leaving Manchester United. The England star struggled for game time at United last season and wants regular action. Lingard excelled in a previous loan spell at West Ham scoring nine goals in 16 matches

Lingard scored nine goals in 16 matches under David Moyes while on loan at West Ham in 2021 and a career revival could see him stake a claim for an England World Cup squad place.

Moyes, who brought in former QPR boss Mark Warburton to his backroom staff this week, is hoping to bring in around five players this summer.

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is poised to sign his permanent deal after a £10.5m fee was agreed with Paris St Germain and talks have taken place with Chelsea over striker Armando Broja.

Moyes also wants Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse but that deal may be beyond West Ham financially.

Free agent Jesse Lingard 'sees Everton as a last resort because of Toffees' financial worries'... with West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle interested as the ex-Man United attacker eyes next club ahead of World Cup season

* Jesse Lingard is said to be uneasy at moving to Everton because of their finances
* The attacker is a free agent after his Man United release and the Toffees are keen
* Everton reported an annual loss of £121m and sold Richarlison to ease their woes
* Ex-England player Lingard has been linked with West Ham, Newcastle and Spurs

Jesse Lingard will only join Everton as a last resort because he is wary of the club's financial predicament, according to a report.

Toffees manager Frank Lampard wants to sign Lingard following the former England international's release by Manchester United, where he had spent his entire youth and senior career.

After making only 16 Premier League appearances last season, Lingard hopes a bright start to the 2022/23 campaign could play him back into Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate's plans ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Everton would be a convenient choice because of Lingard's home in the north-west but Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle are also interested — and the 29-year-old will not move to Goodison Park unless he is desperate, The Sun has said.

Jesse Lingard (right) hopes to revive his England career following his Manchester United exit. Everton and manager Frank Lampard has been repeatedly linked with a move for Lingard

The outlet claims Lingard has concerns about joining a club with money problems, which would rule out Everton because of their three-year deficit of more than £300m.

Lampard was forced to sell playmaker Richarlison to Tottenham in a £60m deal on Friday in a bid to ward off the risk of penalties under financial fair play requirements.

An annual loss of £121m reported in the club's annual report in March caused more disgruntlement among supporters who watched Lampard's side confirm their Premier League place in their final home game of the season.

Former Burnley defender James Tarkowski said he was impressed by Everton and Lampard's ambition when he joined the club on Saturday, but Lingard is said to be unlikely to follow suit.

Lingard dazzled for West Ham on loan during the second half of the 2020/21 season, scoring nine times in Premier League matches.

He has not played for England since featuring in a World Cup qualifier against Andorra that October.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte is said to be interested in Lingard because he wants to add more English players to his squad.

Newcastle are also in a strong position to recruit following their takeover by a Saudi-backed consortium in October 2021 and impressive finish to last season.

West Ham set to beat Everton in the race to sign free agent Jesse Lingard following his Man United exit... as the Hammers consider other midfield options after having a £20m bid rejected for Lille's Amadou Onana

* Everton look likely to miss out on Jesse Lingard, who is ready to join West Ham
* The 29-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Manchester United
* He enjoyed his loan spell at the London Stadium in the second half of 2020-21
* Lingard will have one eye on trying to get into England's World Cup squad

Everton look likely to lose out in the race for free agent Jesse Lingard, who is ready to sign again for West Ham.

The 29-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract, but he has not been short of offers.

Frank Lampard shortlisted Lingard as a target for what could be a busy summer window at Goodison Park, while Newcastle and Tottenham also registered their interest.

But Lingard is expected to turn down all of those clubs and make the move to David Moyes's Hammers.

The midfielder enjoyed his loan spell at the London Stadium in the second half of the 2020-21 season, when he contributed nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances.

Opportunities were not forthcoming when he returned to Manchester United though and Lingard started just four matches in all competitions last season.

The 32-cap England international is therefore keen to ensure he receives regular game time at his next club as he tries to work his way back into Gareth Southgate's thoughts ahead of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, West Ham are considering other midfield options after having a £20million bid rebuffed for Lille's Amadou Onana.

The French club insist that the Belgian international, who has a contract until 2026, is not for sale.

Jesse Lingard 'is heading to the US to discuss ground-breaking offers from two MLS sides' after leaving Man United as a free agent - as he keeps his options open with West Ham still in the mix for his signature

* Jesse Lingard is reportedly attracting interest from two MLS sides in America
* The attacking midfielder is a free agent after leaving Man United this summer
* The 29-year-old wants regular football as he aims for an England World Cup spot
* Lingard is keeping his options open, with West Ham still in the mix to sign him

Jesse Lingard will fly out to the US for 'ground-breaking' talks with two MLS sides after leaving Manchester United, according to reports.

The attacking midfielder left OId Trafford this summer at the end of his contract, and is therefore available as a free agent.

Several sides are interested in his signature, and as reported by ESPN, two top-tier sides across the pond will pitch their credentials in a bid to persuade Lingard to sign.

The 29-year-old wants regular first-team football as he aims to win a place back in Gareth Southgate's England squad ahead of the Qatar World Cup later this year.

Lingard has been capped 32 times by the Three Lions, scoring six times, and played his way back into the international side after a stellar loan spell at West Ham in 2021, where he scored nine in 16 games.

But he has dropped out of the reckoning since then, and hopes to play himself back into Southgate's plans.

Lingard, who played 232 times for United in all competitions across his eight seasons spent at the club, is reportedly yet to make a decision about his future and is keeping his options open.

Hammers boss David Moyes is interested in bringing him back to the London Stadium, while Frank Lampard's Everton are another Premier League side vying for his signature.

ESPN also report that European heavyweights Barcelona and AC Milan contacted Lingard earlier this summer.

'He has taken three years of his career and he has flushed it': Jesse Lingard will be remembered 'for his TikTok videos' and NOT his football career, according to Simon Jordan - as ex-England midfielder weighs up his options after Manchester United exit

* Jesse Lingard won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League at Man United
* He was at times criticised for his use of social media and elaborate celebrations
* Simon Jordan said the midfielder had 'flushed' his career to benefit his 'wages'
* The 29-year-old has recently been linked with a potential move to the MLS

Simon Jordan has slammed Jesse Lingard for 'flushing' three years of his career to the benefit of his 'wage packet', and said he will be best remembered for off-field antics.

Lingard left Manchester United at the end of his contract last month. It marked the end of an 11-year stay with the club that saw him win an FA cup, League Cup and Europa League.

The 29-year-old has also enjoyed a memorable England career to date, with six goals in 32 games for the three lions including a memorable strike against Panama in the 2018 World Cup.

Despite his success, Jordan felt Lingard has wasted much of his recent career. He said on his talkSPORT show: 'He has taken three years of his career and flushed it because he's not accepted that he's not really regarded highly enough at Man United to get in their team.'

'He had an opportunity to go to West Ham and he's made it about finances. He's run down his contract so he can leave on a free contract because he knows that will put his wage packet on a certain level.'

Lingard enjoyed an excellent loan spell with the Hammers in 2021, scoring nine goals in 16 games. There was talk of him returning to the London stadium, although reports in ESPN suggest he is now being linked with an MLS move.

Jordan continued: 'Jesse Lingard will be remembered, for me, for TikTok videos.'

The midfielder was at times criticised for his use of social media and elaborate TikTok-inspired celebrations.

At his best, Lingard showed himself to be a talented player with a habit for scoring excellent goals in big games. Wherever he ends up, the midfielder could still have a lot to offer in the remainder of his career.

Jesse Lingard is set to make a decision over £10m-a-year offer from Saudi Arabian club - as the former Manchester United midfielder considers MLS and Premier League interest ahead of summer move

* Jesse Lingard is set to make a decision over his future by the end of the week
* Former Man United midfielder has offers from a number of different clubs
* He has received a £10million-a-year deal from Saudi Arabian side Al Shabbab
* Lingard is understood to favour a move to another Premier League team

Jesse Lingard is to make a decision over his future this week amid interest from Saudi Arabia, MLS and Premier League teams.

The 29-year-old, who left Manchester United this summer after 11 seasons with the first-team, is hoping to finalise a move to a new club by the end of the week.

Lingard's preference would be to stay in the Premier League but is understood to have three deals on the table - including one incredibly lucrative offer from abroad.

The former England international is considering an option from Saudi Arabian side Al Shabbab, which would see him earn £10milion per year.

Despite interest from Wayne Rooney's DC United, Lingard will not be playing his football in America next year.

Rooney, who moved stateside after his stint in charge of Derby County, was hoping to bring his former United team-mate to the U.S - but that looks increasingly unlikely.

Lingard favours a move to another Premier League side, with West Ham already opening negotiations with his agent last month - and Frank Lampard's Everton also interested in the midfielder's services.

West Ham 'hold further talks with Jesse Lingard over a possible move' with David Moyes determined to sign the ex-Manchester United free agent despite interest from Nottingham Forest

* West Ham have had further discussions with Jesse Lingard over a possible move
* Lingard is a free agent following his departure from Manchester United in June
* Nottingham Forest are also interested in a move for the 29-year-old England star

West Ham have held further talks with free agent Jesse Lingard over a possible move to east London.

Lingard is a free agent following his departure from Manchester United and David Moyes is eager to sign him, as reported by The Guardian.

In the second half of the 2020-21 season Lingard had a hugely productive loan spell at West Ham, during which he scored nine goals in 16 games.

Last season Lingard, who can operate as a winger or an attacking midfielder, found regular playing time difficult to come by at United, but there is no shortage of interest in him, with Nottingham Forest also monitoring the situation.

Other clubs are tracking Lingard, such as Everton, Leicester, Newcastle and Tottenham. Furthermore, MLS clubs and a team in Saudi Arabia are also interested.

Lingard is demanding wages of £180,000-a-week, which has meant that the situation has dragged on for some time.

However, the 29-year-old is now close to making a decision on his future, with West Ham leading the race.

Lingard played 232 times for Manchester United, scoring 35 goals.

West Ham have already signed Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, while Alphonse Areola made his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain permanent.

The Hammers are also looking to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea.

Jesse Lingard offered near £200,000 per week deal by Nottingham Forest in their bid to see off competition from West Ham... while the former Manchester United midfielder's representatives want a multi-million pound fee for finding his next club

* Jesse Lingard has been offered an initial two-year deal by Nottingham Forest
* They are hoping to beat West Ham to the signature of the England midfielder
* Lingard is a free agent after his Manchester United contract ended last month
* It's thought the England star wants a deal worth at least £180,000-a-week

Jesse Lingard has been offered a lucrative deal approaching £200,000 per week by Nottingham Forest as they hope to beat West Ham to the signature of the England midfielder.

The Hammers, where Lingard had a successful loan spell in 2020-21, are reluctant to raise their own offer, which was less than the one made by Forest.

The 29-year-old was set to decide on his future imminently and was looking for a weekly salary of about £180,000, which would make him comfortably the top earner at the City Ground, with a contract of either one or two years.

Sportsmail also understands Lingard's representatives were also seeking a significant fee for their role in the deal.

Jesse Lingard has been offered an initial two-year deal by Nottingham Forest. The former Manchester United star has been jetting around the globe during the off-season. West Ham have been desperate to re-sign Lingard after his impressive loan spell last year

Lingard has not given up hope of regaining his place in Gareth Southgate's squad ahead of the World Cup this winter.

They believe that if Lingard joins, he would be a statement signing for Forest as they prepare for a first campaign in the Premier League since 1999.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis has bankrolled a significant summer spending campaign after Forest sealed promotion to the top flight for the first time this century.

They have already committed about £70m on transfers after finalising a double move for Huddersfield's Lewis O'Brien and Harry Toffolo on Wednesday.

Dean Henderson, who arrived on loan from Manchester United, was Forest's most eye-catching deal so far, while they also broke their transfer record to sign Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin for £17m.

Jesse Lingard completes SHOCK move to Nottingham Forest on a free transfer after waving goodbye to Manchester United this summer, with the England star penning a one-year contract at the City Ground worth nearly £200,000-a-week

* Jesse Lingard has announced his move to Nottingham Forest on social media
* The ex-Man United star was available on a free transfer after leaving Old Trafford
* Forest beat West Ham to his signature this summer after tabling a hefty offer
* Lingard has put pen to paper on a huge £200,000-a-week deal with the club

Jesse Lingard has signed a bumper contract approaching £200,000 a week with newly-promoted Nottingham Forest in the shock deal of this summer’s transfer window.

The England international, who left Manchester United at the end of his contract, turned his back on West Ham to sign for Forest after passing a medical on Wednesday, and could make his debut in the friendly with Union Berlin in Germany on Saturday.

Lingard is thought to have signed an initial 12-month deal though Forest will be hoping to extend that if he performs well. The 29-year-old has not given up hope of forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad for this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, after he was a key man in England’s run to the semi-finals four years ago.

Mitliadis Marinakis, the son of owner Evangelos, tweeted a picture of himself and Lingard posing with a Forest shirt, early in the evening.

Jesse Lingard has signed for Nottingham Forest on a one-year contract this summer

The Hammers were considering whether to return with an improved offer for Lingard, with boss David Moyes a huge fan of the player, who also had interest from the United States and the Middle East.

Forest had already spent more than £70million on nine players, as well as signing goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United, but Lingard’s signing takes their campaign to a new level. Marinakis senior has bankrolled a huge summer spree to try to establish Forest in the top flight and they are also thought to have shown interest in Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis and Maxwel Cornet of Burnley.

Lingard confirmed his switch to the City Ground in a video message posted on social media. The England star was available on a free transfer this summer after leaving Manchester United

Boss Steve Cooper was keen to add Premier League know-how to his squad, with Henderson – who has made 49 appearances in the top division – the only one with significant experience of the English top flight.

Lingard made 165 top-flight appearances during spells with United and West Ham, and has 32 caps for England.

Cooper said: ‘There’s loads of good players you can buy or get offered to you. But it’s not just that. Obviously we want good players, but we want good players who fit our way of playing, fit our culture and fit our atmosphere. It’s like trying to put a jigsaw together.

‘All of the players we have signed so far suit how I want the team to play. And they act and work and behave in the right way.’
