Re: [Watch] United under Ryan Giggs #11
Ryan Giggs calls for Adnan Januzaj to be given more protection after David Meyler gets away with nasty stamp during Man United's win against Hull
Ryan Giggs called for Adnan Januzaj to be given more protection on Tuesday night after the Manchester United youngster was injured in an incident with Hull midfielder David Meyler. Meyler will be waiting anxiously to see if the FA take any action after he appeared to deliberately stand on Januzaj's outstretched leg towards the end of the game. If referee Craig Pawson confirms on Wednesday that he did not spot it, then the FA will be free to act and Meyler's place in the FA Cup final against Arsenal a week on Saturday could be in jeopardy. It is the second time this season that Januzaj has been the alleged victim of a stamp after Fulham's Sascha Riether was banned for three matches in November after accepting a FA charge of violent conduct. Hull boss Steve Bruce insisted that he did not see last night's incident, but Giggs described it as 'a joke'. He added: 'I didn't see it but I've seen his leg. It's the second time it has happened to him this season. It's not great to see, and it's terrible his leg. 'He needs protecting. He's a brilliant, exciting player and the authorities need to sort it out. It's just the length of his leg, not cutting into his skin. It goes form his knee to his ankle.' Giggs came on as a substitute for his 963rd - and possibly final - appearance at Old Trafford in his last home game as interim boss, and admitted that he is still in two minds whether to play on next season. Nasty: David Meyler (right) leaves his boot in on Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj Stamp it out: Meyler got away with the stamp on Januzaj late in the second half Thin line: Meyler was already on a yellow card for an earlier foul on Tom Lawrence He used the occasion to give supporters 'a glimpse into the future', giving senior debuts to James Wilson and Tom Lawrence alongside Januzaj. Wilson, 18, scored two of United's goals and admitted that he only knew he would be in the team on the morning of the match. 'It came as a shock but he had faith in me,' he said. 'I got out there and tried to show what I could do. My family were out in full force tonight and it was a great feeling. 'When the first went in it was total euphoria. The second one was a great experience. It was about getting used to the physicality and the pace of the game. I played here for the Under-21s but it is different with 75,000 people.' Code:

Man United's Class of '14: Ryan Giggs gives youth a chance against Hull as James Wilson repays interim boss with a debut double
Ryan Giggs opted to give a couple of promising Manchester United youngsters their Premier League debuts for the club as Tom Lawrence and James Wilson earned starting spots while Michael Keane found himself on the bench for the Red Devils' final home game of the season against Hull. 18-year-old striker Wilson immediately repaid the trust of the United interim boss with a debut goal in the 31st minute of the Premier League clash before grabbing another in the second half. After a difficult campaign under sacked manager David Moyes, United go into their last two games with little to play for as Giggs decided to give the Class of 2014 a chance on Tuesday night. Here, Sportsmail takes a look at United's new breed. James Wilson A 15-year-old Wilson scored on his United academy debut against Everton and almost three years later he has done the same, but this time on his full debut for the club. Giggs has given 18-year-old striker Wilson his first team debut and the striker repaid that trust within the first half an hour of his full debut. United fans may recognise this youngster after he was selected on the bench by Moyes for the club's Premier League clash against Newcastle in April as both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie were missing. Wilson didn't get on the pitch, but his surprise selection was a promising sign of how well thought of he is at the club. Speaking of the youngster after the game, Giggs said: 'It's always been the way at United, to give young players a chance. He's a good player. 'He's exciting and he's trained with us the last couple of days and not looked out of place.' Interestingly, Wilson chose to wear a paid of all-black boots for his first appearance at Old Trafford, which is quite unusual in today's world of bright colours and hi-tech materials. Perhaps the decision was a nod to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who would only allow first team regulars to wear coloured boots. Tom Lawrence Giggs may well have given 19-year-old Lawrence his first start for United as the veteran sees a little bit of himself in the forward. Similar to his selector on Tuesday night, Lawrence is a Welsh attacker blessed with bags of pace, confidence on the ball and an ability to terrify defenders with his direct running. The Wales Under-21 forward has been shipped out to Carlisle United and Yeovil Town this season and has just returned from the Glovers where he made a total of 19 appearances, scoring two goals. The youngster has been at United since the age of eight and was part of their 2011 FA Youth Cup winning squad which also included Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba. Michael Keane The 21-year-old defender has just returned from a successful two-month loan spell at Blackburn Rovers and has also spent time at Leicester and Derby. The Englishman may fancy his chances at breaking into the United first team with Nemanja Vidic leaving for Inter and veteran defender Rio Ferdinand struggling to make the first team. Commanding in the air and blessed with a strong positional sense, Keane has the ability to become a star at Old Trafford. Keane was so impressive during his time at Blackburn that Rovers boss Gary Bowyer is already planning to sign the centre-back for the whole of next season. Code:

Re: [Watch] United under Ryan Giggs #11
Ryan Giggs promises 'the good times will be back' at Manchester United
Ryan Giggs made a statement of intent to the Manchester United supporters by blooding talented youngsters, and insisted the club shouldn't lose sight of what has made them so successful. The interim manager started with teenagers Tom Lawrence and James Wilson in prominent attacking positions, with the latter scoring a poacher's brace against Hull City on Tuesday night. Giggs saw his side beat Steve Bruce's Tigers 3-1 at Old Trafford with the sort of exuberance seen under Sir Alex Ferguson during his two glorious decades at the helm. Addressing the crowd: Ryan Giggs promised that the good times will be back at Manchester United Farewell: The 40-year-old played his last game for the club at Old Trafford against Hull on Tuesday night 'I'd just like to say to keep supporting us. You've seen a glimpse of the future, we always give youth a chance and play attractive football,' he said while addressing the crowd. 'The good times will come back soon. We know it's been tough and over the years we've been spoilt but your support has never changed. In the coming years we'll bring you more success.' Giggs' future at United is up in the air, with impending new boss Louis van Gaal having not yet decided whether he wants the 40-year-old as part of his backroom staff. And he admitted to having not been told what's next at United. 'I've not been told anything and left to get on with my job. I'll carry on doing that until Sunday,' Giggs said. Talking about Wilson and Lawrence's first team debuts, he added: 'I'm really pleased the lads who came in did so well. 'He's (Wilson) a good player. He's exciting, has trained with us and not looked out of place. 'They've been at the club since they were eight - it's good to see them do well.' But while they may be at the club in July, Nemanja Vidic definitely won't. The Serbian played his final home game after coming on for the injured Phil Jones. 'He goes with all our best wishes of success in the coming years,' Giggs said. Code:
