ANDREAS PEREIRA MARKS FIRSTCOMPETITIVE START WITH A GOAL

Andreas Pereira marked his first competitive start for Manchester United with a goal in the Capital One Cup tie with Ipswich Town.

Always capable of hitting the net from set-pieces, the creative talent crashed home a free-kick in front of the Stretford End to bag the second goal in a 3-0 victory over the Championship club.

The exciting 19-year-old impressed on the summer tour, scoring a header against San Jose Earthquakes, but has had to be patient for a chance as this was his first involvement this term.

Involved from the outset, he hit a post inside the opening two minutes but the flag had already been raised for offside. Clearly not overawed, the confident midfielder had a stinging drive held by Bartosz Bialkowski a few moments later and dragged another effort wide with only 12 minutes on the clock.

Performing out wide on the left, he linked well with Marouane Fellaini and became embroiled in a fascinating battle with Town's Josh Emmanuel. Some neat skills looked to have deceived the full-back after Fellaini picked Pereira out but the defender recovered to muscle his opponent off the ball.

His big moment came bang on the hour mark as Juan Mata allowed the younger man to take over free-kick duty on the edge of the box and Pereira responded with a superbly-flighted effort over the wall and past Bialkowski.

Displaying even more authority and confidence, he showed off his control and vision as United started to enjoy themselves. Fouled by Jonathan Parr after racing through on goal, prompting the only booking of the game, he went very close to doubling his tally when a deflected shot was excellently repelled by Bialkowski.

By moving into a more central role following Memphis Depay's introduction off the bench, he illustrated his adaptability.

After making his debut as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur last March, which he described as like being part of a computer game, Pereira has performed well for Brazil's Under-20 and Under-23 teams and deserved his opportunity.

Following the signing of a new contract in May, Louis van Gaal indicated the teenager had the talent to become an integral member of the first team and this was another major step towards that goal.

Semoga kedepannya Van Gaal memberikan lebih banyak kepercayaan kepada Pereira, minimal tampil di starting IX United untuk ajang piala FA dan piala Liga. Untuk ajang EPL dan Champions sepertinya harus berjuang sedikit lebih keras tapi tidak ada yang tidak mungkin apabila seorang pemain United menunjukkan kemampuan bermain yang luar biasa

Bola.net - Bos Manchester United, Louis van Gaal, memuji penampilan pemain muda Andreas Pereira di babak III Piala Liga melawan Ipswich Town dini hari tadi.

Sosok asal Brasil berusia 19 tahun membuat gol indah lewat tendangan bebas yang membantu timnya menang 3-0 di Old Trafford, namun Van Gaal merasa bahwa sang pemain masih harus berusaha lebih keras untuk mendapatkan tempat reguler di tim inti.

"Ia bisa bermain di semua posisi (di lini depan). Dan pesaingnya adalah Young, Depay, Mata, Herrera, Rooney, Fellaini, dan Lingard," jelas Van Gaal pada reporter.

"Apa yang Anda sebut realistis akan bergantung pada level pemain itu sendiri. Saya selalu menurunkan pemain terbaik di susunan tim ketika ia terus bekerja keras bagi klub."

Manchester - Andreas Pareira berkontribusi terhadap kemenangan Manchester United pada babak ketiga Piala Liga Inggris dinihari tadi. Dia menyebut gol itu sebagai sebuah mimpi yang jadi nyata.

MU memetik kemenangan 3-0 atas Ipswich Town dalam laga yang bergulir di Old Trafford, Kamis (24/9/2015) dinihari WIB. Gol pembuka dibuat Wayne Rooney.

Pererira menggandakan gol MU di menit ke-60. Pelanggaran terhadap Juan Mata membuahkan tendangan bebas tidak jauh dari kotak penalti Ipswich. Pereira yang bertigas menjadi algojo menyelesaikannya dengan baik. MU unggul 2-0.

Pada injury time, Anthony Martial menambah satu gol lagi bagi The Red Devils. Hingga akhir pertandingan, Ipswich tak mmampu membuat gol. MU pun lolos ke babak keempat.

"Aku meminta bola kepada Juan Mata dan dia memberikannya kepadaku. Kami sudah berlatih bersama-sama dan dia mempercayaiku," kata Pererira seperti dikutip Sports Mole.

"Bisa mencetak gol amatlah spesial buatku. Sebuah tendangan bebas di Stretford End cukup baguslah. Itu seperti sebuah mimpi yang jadi nyata. Aku sangat bergembira dengan keluarga ini, bisa memberikan kesan yang bagus bagi manajer dan tampil bagus untuk klubku," jelas gelandang 19 tahun itu.

PEREIRA WILL PROVIDE GREAT COMPETITION

Louis van Gaal feels Andreas Pereira will compete for a number of roles within Manchester United’s team after the Brazil Under-23 international capped a first competitive start with a stunning free-kick against Ipswich Town on Wednesday evening.

Starting on the left flank in the Capital One Cup third-round clash at Old Trafford, the youngster was eager to impress and proved a lively presence throughout the 3-0 win. Most notably of course, he curled in that unstoppable setpiece to render Ipswich goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski powerless and put the Reds 2-0 up on the hour mark.

Such a performance from the 19-year-old prompted the boss to suggest that Pereira, along with Jesse Lingard, is a youngster who can challenge for attacking spots in the Reds’ line-up.

Van Gaal said: "It was his first line-up match (start) and I think he did rather well. He scored a fantastic, important goal and I’m pleased but he has to compete, for example, with Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Ashley Young so it shall be difficult for him.

"He can play in the no.7, 10 and 11 positions. Lingard can also play no.7, 10 and 11. I have multi-functional players but they have to compete with other players. It is dependable on the level of the players. I always put the best player in the line-up when he is working for the team."
