PSG Eye HUGE Summer Targets
Paris Saint-Germain president admits Suarez, Higuain & Torres could be summer targets
The Ligue 1 giants have been linked with both South American attackers, and it has now been confirmed they could be pursued in the upcoming transfer window Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has admitted that players such as Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain, Chelsea's Fernando Torres and Liverpool's Luis Suarez could be potential targets for the French capital club this summer. Les Parisiens have been linked with several high profile names in the past few months and head coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen to strengthen his attack in the upcoming transfer window. The former Chelsea manager previously named the aforementioned trio as potential reinforcements, and Al-Khelaifi has now confirmed that PSG could make their move come the end of the current season. "These players [Higuain, Torres and Suarez] could be of interest to us," the French capital outfit supremo said in an interview with La Gazzetto dello Sport. Nevertheless, Al-Khelaifi was quick to point out that the Paris giants have no intention of spending big money just for the sake of it, and stressed that they're keeping an eye on the long-term future as well. "The players we've approached so far were interested in the project PSG. We won't be spending cash without thinking. We only go after the players who are committed to our project. "Our priorities are a better training centre, a youth academy that will help us develop the new [Lionel] Messi. And we want to stay at the Parc des Princes which represents our history." Paris Saint-Germain currently sit atop of the Ligue 1 table with a one-point lead over second-placed Montpellier. Code:

Podolski to Sign for Arsenal from Cologne
Lukas Podolski to sign for Arsenal from Cologne
Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Germany striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne, BBC Sport understands. Reports suggest the Gunners will pay £10.9m for the 26-year-old on a four-year contract worth £100,000 a week. Podolski will have to pass a medical and agree personal terms before the move can be completed in the summer. Arsenal's Per Mertesacker said: "He has sent me a number of text messages and I have told him this is a great place to work and Arsenal are an amazing club." The pair have played together for Germany since 2004 and now look set to join forces at club level as well. Cologne boss Stale Solbakken admitted last month he could lose Podolski to Arsenal and the transfer is now at an advanced stage. The Poland-born forward, whose contract expires in summer 2013, started his career with Cologne and joined Bayern Munich in 2006 before returning to his first club in 2009. He played for Germany at the 2004 and 2008 European Championships, as well as the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. Podolski scored three goals to help his country qualify for Euro 2012 and has scored 16 goals in 22 club games this season. Big-spending Russian clubs Lokomotiv Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala were also understood to be pursuing Podolski but he recently stated that money was not his prime concern. "Money is not the most important thing for me," he told German newspaper Sport-Bild. "What is crucial is the development of my game." Cologne currently sit 14th in the Bundesliga, with Podolski having scored more goals (16) than all of his team-mates put together (15). PODOLSKI AT A GLANCE •Born: Gliwice, Poland, 1985 •1987: Family move to Germany •1995: Joins Cologne, first-team debut in 2003 •2006: Joins Bayern Munich after scoring 51 goals in 84 games for Cologne •2009: Rejoins Cologne after scoring 26 goals in 106 games for Bayern •2010-12: Has scored 14 and 16 goals in last two seasons •Germany: 91 caps, 43 goals Code:

Suarez Hints at PSG Move
Liverpool's Luis Suárez hints at possible move to Paris Saint-Germain
• Striker admits he would love to play alongside Diego Lugano • 'Yes, I could come to Paris, but like any other big club' Luis Suárez has hinted that he may be open to a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The Liverpool striker told a French television channel that he would love to play alongside Diego Lugano, his captain at international level for Uruguay, who is currently playing for the Ligue 1 leaders. Kenny Dalglish last week responded to suggestions that the big-spending French club were considering making a move for the Uruguay international in the summer by insisting that he was not for sale at any price, but Suárez's admission is likely to lead to renewed bout of speculation. Suárez and his international team-mate, the Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, were being interviewed by Canal+ about their international colleague Lugano, who moved from Fenerbahce to Paris in August. Both players were asked if they would like to play alongside Lugano at some point in their club career's. Suárez answered that he would "love to play at the same club as [Lugano]" and admitted he could be tempted by a move to Parc des Princes in the future. "Yes, I could come to Paris, but like any other big club," he said. "There are lots of big clubs with that kind of status, who want to build a great team, and Paris are one of those clubs that are recruiting to make themselves stronger." The Napoli striker Cavani, who has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League, said, "It would be very tempting to come to Paris. I'd love for us to play together." Liverpool's defeat at Sunderland on Saturday made qualification for next season's Champions League highly improbable. Dalglish's side are currently 10 points adrift of Arsenal, who occupy fourth place. Code:

Sneijder Puts Chelsea & City on Alert
Chelsea & Manchester City on alert as Sneijder holds out for summer Premier League move
The Dutchman, who has fallen out of favour at Inter, has already rejected a "staggering" offer from Zenit, while Manchester United have put Luka Modric top of their shopping list Wesley Sneijder wants a move to the Premier League in the summer, with Chelsea and Manchester City closely monitoring the playmaker's situation after he rejected a switch to Zenit St Petersburg, Goal.com has learned. The Inter playmaker held talks with Zenit in the final days of the Russian transfer window, which closed on February 24. Sources have told Goal.com that the Russian club made Sneijder a “staggering” offer to make an immediate switch to St Petersburg and he has also been courted by Anzhi Makhachkala, but the Dutchman is holding out for a move to one of the big hitters in England. The 27-year-old came close to joining Manchester United last summer after Inter agreed a fee with the Premier League champions but the deal fell through because the player’s camp wanted around €240,000-a-week (£200,000) and United were reluctant to pay any more than €200,000-a-week (£170,000). With United’s main priority in the forthcoming window believed to be a central midfielder, and Tottenham’s Luka Modric top of their shopping list, the only other clubs who would realistically be able to afford Sneijder’s salary and transfer fee are Manchester City and Chelsea. The Premier League’s two biggest spenders have had their wings clipped by Uefa’s new financial fair play rules but still possess the financial muscle to buy a player of Sneijder’s calibre. City made enquiries with Inter last summer and again in January but pursued other avenues after considering whether Carlos Tevez could be used as leverage in a part-exchange deal for the Dutchman. Nevertheless, City are ready to make David Silva the fourth player at the club, after Tevez, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, to earn more than €240,000-a-week (£200,000) during forthcoming contract talks and could afford Sneijder if they off-loaded some of the dead wood at the Etihad Stadium. "Sneijder wants to play in England," a source told Goal.com. "He wanted to move to Manchester United last summer but that didn't happen because of the money and various other reasons. "He likes the Premier League, he likes the atmosphere in the stadiums and believes his game would be ideally suited to English football." Sneijder’s season has been disrupted by niggling injuries and indifferent form to the extent that he has fallen down the pecking order at San Siro in recent weeks, even being dropped from the team by coach Claudio Ranieri in order to play two strikers. Speaking at the end of last month, Sneijder, who is contracted to Inter until 2015, confirmed that he had rejected an approach from Zenit. “They [Zenit] were prepared to go really far in order to sign me,” he said. “There was absolutely nothing wrong with their offer. However, I don't think this is the right moment for me to leave Inter.” Code:

Aussie Winger Agrees Villa Deal
Australia winger Brett Holman to join Aston Villa in the summer
Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Australia international Brett Holman from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar this summer. The 27-year-old winger, who has won 53 caps, was named as Australia's football writers' Player of the Year for 2011. Holman, who joined Eredivisie leaders Alkmaar in 2008, will sign on a free transfer when his contract expires. "I am delighted to have agreed terms with Aston Villa. I am looking forward to joining up with the team in the summer," said Holman. "Villa have a long and prestigious history in English football and a fantastic set of fans." Holman has spent a decade in the Netherlands, having had spells at Feyenoord, Excelsior and NEC Nijmegen before moving to AZ. "Brett is a very intelligent player," said Villa manager Alex McLeish. "A great team player and a man who is recognised in the game as a non-stop, committed wide midfield player. "He has international experience and has played in the Champions League. He will add significantly to the experience in the Villa squad." Code:

Re: Summer Transfer - News and Rumors
World Football Gossip Roundup: Eden Hazard, Loic Remy, Edin Dzeko
Looking for your daily world football gossip? You're in the right place. The world football rumor mill never stops turning, and today is no exception. Here's a batch of stories you'll probably find interesting no matter which team you support. If not, feel free to leave your own gossip in the comments, along with all questions and whatever else strikes your fancy. Fergie Watches Hazard Cameras found Sir Alex Ferguson in the stands watching Lyon's 2-1 win over Lille on Saturday at the Stade de Gerland. That has led to speculation that Ferguson had traveled to Lyon to personally scout Lille's Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard. When the cameras cut to him, Ferguson was pictured yawning. "'I didn't know he was here," said Hazard. "Maybe he's tired!" Manchester United are among several teams reportedly interested in the 21-year-old Hazard. Others include Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City. Spurs Target Remy According to the Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is planning a summer move for French international Loic Remy (in addition to Hazard, that is). Similar reports surfaced in January, with £20 million as the reported transfer fee. “Yes, we wanted to get him. We tried," Redknapp said. "But he wasn’t for sale. We like him a lot, he’s a very good player.” Remy, 25, has scored nine goals in 21 matches this season. The striker has scored four goals in 17 caps for France. Dzeko out at City? According to Mirror Football, Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko could be on his way out of Manchester City. The 25-year-old has scored 24 goals in 56 matches since moving from Wolfsburg last year, but 11 of his 35 appearances this season have been as a substitute. Inter Milan and Juventus are reportedly interested in Dzeko, who cost City £27 million. Wenger to Swoop for Moroccan? According to the Sun, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said he's interested in signing Moroccan midfielder Younes Belhanda from Montpellier. "I know Younes well and like him a lot," Wenger is quoted as saying. "But I don't want to cause problems. Only Montpellier can decide where he goes to." The Sun says Belhanda, 22, is rated at £15 million. Villa After American? Another American could be heading to the English Premier League if the rumors are correct. According to Mirror Football, American midfielder Jermaine Jones is wanted by Aston Villa. Jones, 30, currently plays for Schalke in Germany and has appeared 16 times for the United States. Code:

English Giants Circling Fulham Star
Arsenal & Liverpool join Tottenham in €18m race to sign Fulham's Moussa Dembele
The west Londoners face a battle to hold on to the Belgian, who has matured into one of the most accomplished playmakers in the Premier League Arsenal and Liverpool will compete with Tottenham to sign Moussa Dembele from Fulham in the summer, Goal.com can reveal. The attacking midfielder is being closely watched by the three Premier League big guns as they consider whether to launch bids when the window opens. Dembele is rated at £15 million (€18m) by Fulham, where he has matured this season into one of the most accomplished playmakers in the Premier League. However, the Belgium international will have only a year left on his contract at the end of the season and the bidding for the 24-year-old is likely to start at below the £10m (€12m) mark. Fulham are keen to agree new terms with Dembele, who joined the Londoners from Dutch club AZ for £5m (€6m) in the summer of 2010. But the west Londoners, whose highest paid player is goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, know they cannot compete on wages or status with the likes of Liverpool and the two north London clubs, and will struggle to hold on to the Belgian if he receives an attractive offer in the summer. Dembele was initially signed as a striker but Martin Jol has played him almost exclusively in an attacking midfield role, including in a central two alongside Danny Murphy in recent weeks, and he has responded with some of the best football of his career. He has scored only six goals in 62 appearances for Fulham, including only a single strike for the club - at Wigan Athletic – this season and regular observers admit this has prompted question marks among those monitoring his development. "His end product is an issue," one source told Goal.com. "But if you play him in the right role with the right players he can make an impact." Jol is a big admirer of Dembele and has likened him to another left-footed schemer. "In a few months, maybe a year, he will be like Rafa van der Vaart," said Jol last November. "Dembele will learn and go on to become one of the best players in the Premier League." Code:

Latest World Football Gossip
World Football Gossip Roundup: Higuain, Sterling, Moyes Turns 10, M'Vila, Pogba
In the absence of B/R's lead blogger Mike Cummings, who has been granted leave from writing duties for an entire day to prepare for Friday's Champions League draw madness (you could call it a day off), it falls on me to deliver today's gossip roundup. As usual, transfer tittle-tattle leads the way—with mentions for a Real Madrid striker who is determined to focus on playing for Real Madrid and a Manchester United youngster who may yet stay a Manchester United youngster. I'll be brief and to the point. Here's the gossip roundup for Tuesday, March 13 on planet football. Higuain: Leave Me Alone Until the End of the Season Manchester City and Chelsea continue to be frantically linked with Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, but the Argentine is playing it cool. "I am not going to talk about my future," Higuain is quoted at Talksport.co.uk today. "I will devote my attention to Real Madrid for the remaining months of the season and try to do my job to help the team." Higuain scored in Madrid's 3-2 win against Betis at the weekend, but his starting spot is far from assured in Jose Mourinho's team with the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo hanging around. Expect this one to run and run until the end of the season. Spurs Want Liverpool Teenager According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are lingering with intent around 17-year-old Liverpool prospect Raheem Sterling. Sterling is yet to break into the first team at Anfield, and the suggestion here is that Spurs will offer him more senior opportunities if he agrees to join them. The report claims Spurs are sending a scout to watch Sterling in action for Liverpool's youth team against Ajax tomorrow night. Here's a nice little show reel of the man in action. Moyes Turns 10 at Everton David Moyes will celebrate his 10th anniversary as Everton manager on Wednesday—a remarkable feat in the modern era, especially when you consider the lack of funds he's had to play with at Goodison Park. Fittingly, the fixture gods have thrown up a rearranged meeting with Liverpool on Tuesday night to celebrate, and they'll be plenty who fancy the blue half of Merseyside to come out on top. Everton have beaten Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham in recent weeks, while Liverpool will come out at Anfield having lost their last three Premier League games in a row. Check out this excellent BBC Sport column by former Liverpool defender Alan Hansen on Moyes' achievements, which includes a graph demonstrating his league positions with Everton season-by-season. M'Vila to Leave Rennes Yann M'Vila has been a staple of the gossip columns for some time, but it looks as though the Rennes midfielder will finally make good on the speculation this summer. "Yann M'Vila won't be a Stade Rennais player next season," said Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti, as quoted at Goal.com. The 21-year-old French international is said to be of particular interest to Arsenal and Real Madrid. Watch this space. Pogba to Stay at United? Manchester United's Paul Pogba looked ready and packed to make a move to Italy with Juventus, but his cameo appearance against West Brom at the weekend appears to have re-opened the door to a United future. The Manchester Evening News say the 18-year-old could well now decide to "snub" Italy and stay in rainy Manchester instead. United fans will be pleased to hear it, having reportedly clapped his every touch in the 2-0 win after he came on as a substitute on Sunday. Code:
