McFadden cruciate injury blow
Soccernet - September 17, 2010 Birmingham forward James McFadden will be out of action "for the foreseeable future" after suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage in training on Friday. The 27-year-old Scotland international will see a specialist on Monday with a view to unfergoing surgery on the injury. A club statement read: "Birmingham City can confirm that James McFadden sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage to his left knee in training today. "McFadden will see a specialist on Monday with a view to surgery and will be out of action for the foreseeable future." McFadden has featured in all four of Blues' Premier League games so far this season as well as Scotland's opening two Euro 2012 qualifiers earlier this month. The former Motherwell and Everton striker's only goal of the campaign to date came in last month's Carling Cup victory over Rochdale.

Re: [Non United] Injury News :(
tadina rencana buat update pemaen2x EPL aja sih ...
but sekalian nih untuk peserta UCL, apa lagi yg udah punya nama besar .. nyang pada cedera .... GWS yaa ... _____________________________________ Messi injured in Barcelona win Soccernet - September 19, 2010 Barcelona overcame a tough challenge away at Atletico Madrid to win 2-1 and move up to fifth in the Spanish table, although the result was tempered by an injury to Lionel Messi. Messi netted in the 13th minute after he was put through, but Raul Garcia levelled the scores just over ten minutes later. Goalkeeper David De Gea stopped Messi and David Villa from putting Barcelona ahead again, but could do nothing about Gerard Pique's powerful strike from close range after a corner. Barcelona pushed to increase their lead in the second half, but once again found De Gea in inspired form and in the final minute of the game Messi was clattered by Tomas Ujfalusi - who was shown a straight red card - and stretchered off in tears with his ankle visably swollen. The initial news was good, however, as Barca coach Pep Guardiola said after the match: ''He'll be having more tests tomorrow, but in principle a break has been ruled out. He's injured and the doctors will tell us how he is. Let's hope the first diagnosis is correct and we can help get him fit again. He's very sad and in tears. These things happen in football.''

Re: [Non United] Injury News :(
syukur deh ..., cedera Messi gak terlalu serius ...
cuman harus absent di 2 laga ... ___________________________________ Messi escapes serious injury, set to miss two games ESPNsoccernet - September 20, 2010 Barcelona star Lionel Messi will miss the club's next two games with a sprained ankle, after tests revealed that the injury he picked up against Atletico Madrid is not as serious as first thought. Messi was stretchered off the Vicente Calderon pitch in tears towards the end of Barcelona's 2- 1 victory over Atletico after a late tackle from Tomas Ujfalusi left the Argentina playmaker in agony. Ujfalusi received his marching orders for the challenge after picking up a second yellow card and Messi's reaction prompted fears that he may have either broken his ankle or suffered serious ligament damage. But Barca boss Pep Guardiola eased fears after the match, saying: ''He'll be having more tests tomorrow, but in principle a break has been ruled out. He's injured and the doctors will tell us how he is. "Let's hope the first diagnosis is correct and we can help get him fit again. He's very sad and in tears. These things happen in football." After tests on Monday, including an MRI scan, the club revealed that Messi suffered a sprained ankle and is certain to miss matches against Sporting Gijon on Monday and Athletic Bilbao on Saturday. "Testing has confirmed that the player has suffered a sprain to the internal and external lateral ligaments in his right ankle and there are no associated bone lesions." The news means that Messi may be fit to return for Barcelona's trip to Russia to face Rubin Kazan in the Champions League next Wednesday, though the club stressed that it will be up to Guardiola to decide when he returns.

Arsenal await news on Gibbs metatarsal injury
ESPNsoccernet - September 21, 2010 Arsene Wenger fears that his fitness problems have deepened following a metatarsal inury to Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs. Arsenal were forced to substitute the young defender after 102 minutes of Tuesday's 4-1 Carling Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur as Gibbs hobbled off the pitch. Gibbs sustained a lengthy injury last season - depriving him of the chance to fight for a place in England's World Cup squad - and Wenger hopes a similar prognosis will be avoided. "We have to check, that is the only disappointment of the night, because Gibbs had a very good game," Wenger said. "We hope we do not get bad news tomorrow morning [Wednesday]. "It is a metatarsal again, it is the one next to the one he had broken, the second one, so we hope we have good news tomorrow morning, because that would be a massive blow to us." Arsenal have seen Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby, Thomas Vermaelen and captain Cesc Fabregas all suffer injury problems in recent weeks.

Re: [Non United] Injury News :(
Newcastle's Steve Harper out for three months
Soccernet - September 24, 2010 Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper will be out of action for around three months after undergoing shoulder surgery. Harper sustained the injury in Saturday's 1-0 Premier League victory at Everton in a first-half incident involving Toffees striker Jermaine Beckford. Beckford was booked for the challenge by referee Andre Marriner. Although the tackle was not a particularly bad one, it ended the involvement in the game of Harper, who landed heavily on his left shoulder and immediately looked in distress before being carried from the field on a stretcher. A Newcastle spokesman said: "Following a shoulder ligament injury sustained in United's game against Everton last Saturday, Steve Harper has undergone a successful operation which took place yesterday. It is likely that Steve will be unavailable for selection for a period of around 12 weeks.'' It means the player is unlikely to figure for Newcastle's first team again until Christmas- and is likely to mean an extended run in the side for Tim Krul. Krul replaced Harper at Goodison Park and was also in goal for the 4-3 Carling Cup third round success over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's Frank Lampard likely to miss next three matches
-guardian- Frank Lampard has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hernia operation and looks set to miss Chelsea's next three matches. The midfielder's slow recovery from surgery means he could be absent for Premier League games against Manchester City away and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, plus the Champions League group fixture against Marseille. He is also a doubt for England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro on 12 October. The 32-year-old midfielder suffered a setback in training to the groin injury that was treated at the beginning of the month. This latest problem adds to Carlo Ancelotti's growing injury list at Chelsea, with Gaël Kakuta, Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun all limping off against Newcastle in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.

Re: [Non United] Injury News :(
Fulham relief as Dembele only out for three weeks
Soccernet - September 24, 2010 Moussa Dembele had to be stretchered off at the Britannia Stadium Fulham striker Moussa Dembele will be out for only two to three weeks, manager Mark Hughes confirmed, after the striker was carried off following an injury-time tackle by Stoke defender Andy Wilkinson in Tuesday night's 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at the Britannia Stadium. Hughes was furious with the challenge, which he branded ''absolutely ridiculous'', and initially feared the £5 million summer signing from AZ Alkmaar had broken his leg. But a scan revealed that Belgium international Dembele, who has scored three goals this season in a fine start to life at Craven Cottage, had sustained only minor ankle ligament damage. ''Moussa had a scan after the initial impact of the injury had settled down,'' said Hughes. ''At the moment it looks like he'll be out for two to three weeks. He should be fit and well after the international break. ''The challenge was unnecessary and we're thankful the injury isn't more serious than it is. At the time I was extremely angry and made my feelings known. ''We've been really pleased with what Dembele has produced and he's been a big reason behind the positive start we've had. Not to have him available because of a tackle so late in the game is frustrating for everybody.''
