Re: United Injury News 2015/16
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney targeting return to full fitness by the end of the month but will miss Europa League showdown with rivals Liverpool
* Striker Wayne Rooney is currently sidelined with a knee injury * He suffered ligament damage in Manchester United's loss to Sunderland * Rooney will miss United's Europa League round of 16 double header * However, he hopes to be fit in time to face Everton on April 3 Wayne Rooney is back in light training at Manchester United this week as he targets a return to full fitness by the end of the month. The England striker damaged knee ligaments in United's defeat at Sunderland more than three weeks ago, and was given permission by manager Louis van Gaal to enjoy a short break in Dubai with his wife Coleen. The couple were pictured on their return over the weekend with Rooney no longer wearing a protective brace on his right knee. Wayne Rooney, pictured on his way to an Adele concert at the MEN Arena, is sidelined with a knee injury Manchester United and England captain Rooney is currently out of action after damaging knee ligaments The 30-year-old United skipper has been told that the injury will not require surgery and he can resume training as soon as the joint feels strong enough. Rooney is said to be upset that he will not be involved in the Europa League double header against Liverpool, with United travelling to Anfield to face their old rivals in the first leg on Thursday. Rooney is targeting a return to full fitness by the end of the month but will miss the Europa League round of 16 He is also set to miss the FA Cup quarter-final against West Ham this weekend and the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium on March 20, as well as England's friendlies against Germany and Holland towards the end of the month. Rooney could return against his former club Everton at Old Trafford on April 3, although he will not want to take any risks with his fitness with Euro 2016 kicking off little more than two months later. United are currently sixth in the Premier League table after 29 games played with 47 points, three off the pace off fourth-placed rivals City, who occupy the last Champions League qualifying spot and have played one fixture less. Re: United Injury News 2015/16
DUO BACK IN TRAINING AHEAD LIVERPOOL TIE
Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson were among the Manchester United players training in front of the assembled media ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie with Liverpool at Old Trafford. The pair's involvement at the Aon Training Ground provides a boost ahead of this week's double-header with the Merseysiders and Sunday's Manchester derby, although Louis van Gaal will provide an update on their potential availability at his press conference later today (15:30 GMT). Young has been out since sustaining a groin problem in the Barclays Premier League win over Liverpool in January, while full-back Borthwick-Jackson was injured against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup. Although the duo may be lacking match rhythm, things are looking rosier in terms of the number of players regaining fitness at this key stage of the season. |

Re: United Injury News 2015/16
INJURY UPDATE ON SCHWEINSTEIGER, YOUNG AND BORTHWICK-JACKSON
- Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson trained on Wednesday - United must win by three clear goals to knock Liverpool out - Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs optimistic ahead of Europa League tie Louis van Gaal has told MUTV that it is too early for Bastian Schweinsteiger to start in Manchester United's massive Europa League last-16 second leg against Liverpool. Schweinsteiger returned from a two-month injury lay-off during last week’s 2-0 first leg defeat at Anfield and, encouragingly, the Germany international enjoyed a second successful cameo appearance during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United in the Emirates FA Cup sixth round tie at Old Trafford. After confirming Bastian will not start on Thursday, the boss went on to state that Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will not be involved in his squad to face Liverpool, despite both players returning to training from injury. Antonio Valencia is also not ready, despite featuring for the Under-21s last week. "They are training now with us but you have to build up more than only one training session or two training sessions," he told MUTV. "For example, Young and Valencia are out for a few months so it is not so easy to come back and that you can adapt to the rhythm of this level. "Yeah [it's too early for them]. Too early also for Schweinsteiger [to start]. He has played two times 10 or 15 minutes, maybe he can play 45 minutes or 30 minutes dependable on the situation also on the pitch. I cannot say in advance but I try to do that of course. His impact was very big in the last game versus West Ham United and he was involved in the goal, I think. But, yeah, I have to cope with the fact when they're injured, they're not back at the moment they train one training session with you." Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Will Keane are Wayne Rooney are still long-term absentees for United, although the latter has revealed this week that he hopes to return after the upcoming international break. At his press conference, the manager added: "Ashley Young has been two months away but Borthwick-Jackson is another case. He has been about three weeks away so that is different. "For every player, it is difficult after an injury to come back in the team and I give always the example of Marcos Rojo, who was the exception because I didn't have other full-backs so I forced him to build up his capacity in the first team. "He struggled, as you have seen, and I have given him 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 50 minutes, 70 minutes and then, at the end, 90 minutes, but he is now very tired yet he has to play maybe tomorrow. It is not easy for someone who has been out and maybe operated, so it is also a big transition for these kind of players. "It is the same thing with Luke Shaw and with Wayne Rooney when he is coming back as he has already for three weeks [been in] a brace. You have to wait and see in the training sessions if he has that confidence to play a game or 20 minutes and that is difficult." HTML Code:

Re: United Injury News 2015/16
Kami hanya bisa menyerahkan situasi ini kepada [dokter tim Hans-Wilhelm] Muller-Wohlfahrt,” kata Low. http://www.goal.com/id-ID/news/5439/...cedera?ICID=OP @ManUtd: Bastian Schweinsteiger will return to #mufc for reassessment on an injury after withdrawing from the Germany squad. |

Re: United Injury News 2015/16
Manchester United could be without Bastian Schweinsteiger for the rest of the season after midfielder injures knee in training
* Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss the rest of Manchester United's season * The midfielder sustained medial ligament damage during Germany training * He has been ruled out of upcoming friendlies against England and Italy Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss most of Manchester United’s remaining fixtures this season after suffering a similar knee injury to the one that has already forced him out for eight weeks this year. The 31-year-old Germany captain damaged his medial ligament training with the national side on Wednesday ahead of their friendly with England in Berlin on Saturday. He was flown to Munich for an MRI scan with national team physician Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt and the results have shown a small tear. Schweinsteiger has only just returned to United’s squad after a similar injury sustained in an FA Cup tie at home to Sheffield United in January. ‘It’s the medial ligament again,’ confirmed German coach Joachim Low. ‘I am not able to give an exact time scale as to how long he will be out, but it doesn’t look very positive. It happened at the end of the training session and he’s in Munich being examined.’ Bastian Schweinsteger could miss the rest of the season after picking up a medial ligament injury in training A statement from the German federation later said: ‘Bastian Schweinsteiger has suffered a partial tear to a knee ligament. Treatment will be carried out by the medical team at his club in co-ordination with our doctors.’ United’s squad has been ravaged by injuries throughout a troubled campaign. They have eight Premier League games remaining, starting against Everton a week on Sunday, and are fighting for a Champions League place, having been buoyed by last week’s win at Manchester City. United then face title contenders Tottenham at White Hart Lane before taking on West Ham in an FA Cup sixth-round replay at Upton Park on April 13. Schweinsteiger is a popular figure at United. He arrived for £6.5million from Bayern Munich last summer and has played 31 games, scoring one goal. His absence will come as a blow to a squad that is hoping to welcome back Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw from injury following the international break. Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin said: ‘We must make sure we win against Everton. We have some time to recover with the international break but if we want to do something in the league we need to confirm it with another win.’ Code:
