Duo head to Royal Antwerp United have loaned youngsters Luke Giverin and Gyliano van Velzen to Royal Antwerp until 2 January, 2013. Giverin has impressed in pre-season in a new role as a holding midfielder as he continues his development at the club he initially joined as a seven-year-old while Dutch forward van Velzen was part of the 2011 FA Youth Cup-winning squad after arriving from Ajax. "I think that the deal has been signed off and both flew out on Thursday morning," Warren Joyce confirmed to MUTV. "It will be a tremendous experience for them having continental football at club with high demands to get promotion. "They're going into a pressure-cooker atmosphere with fantastic fans and hopefully they can play a part in it being a successful season. "You've seen the benefits in the past for the likes of Jonny Evans, Fraizer Campbell, Danny Simpson, Ryan Shawcross, Lee Martin, Phil Bardsley, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Craig Cathcart. They're just a short few years ago and you can see what it can do for them being out there. "Hopefully, they can enjoy their time out there and develop and improve as players." Joyce also spoke to ManUtd.com about the impact Giverin has made in pre-season after he produced an excellent performance in the recent friendly against Curzon Ashton. "He's a clever footballer," stressed Joyce. "I thought he was the best player on the pitch by a long way against Curzon. "He really showed his level as he's sharp, bright in everything he does and has a tremendous attitude. The kid is a good trainer and, if you look at what his real strengths are, he is technically good, handles the ball well and he's tough. He wants to tackle, reads danger*by sniffing it out and he's brave. "The*holding midfield role is not a bad position for him. I gave him the armband for that game because if you're looking for captains, he does the right things all the time and sets a good example for the younger lads." |

Loans: Cofie on target United striker John Cofie fired his second goal in as many games on Saturday and helped Sheffield United to a 5-3 win over Bournemouth. On the back of his first senior goal for the Blades - a 30-yard screamer - the previous weekend, Cofie netted another impressive strike at Bramall Lane before being replaced by Richard Cresswell just before the hour. Elsewhere in League One, Reece Brown and Coventry City are still waiting for their first win of the season after going down 1-0 away to Crewe. Brown almost pulled City level in added time when an attack was only half-cleared, but his volley was blocked by Abdul Osman. Fabio and Sean McGinty also suffered defeats for their respective loan clubs - QPR and Oxford United. Fabio played the full 90 minutes in QPR’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad, clearing off the line from Edin Dzeko in the first half, while McGinty was an unused substitute for Oxford United in their 3-1 defeat at York which ended United's 100 per cent start to the League Two campaign. Meanwhile, Ben Amos was part of Hull’s 3-1 win over Bolton at the KC Stadium. Former Red Chris Eagles put the visitors ahead with a swerving, slightly deflected free-kick which evaded Amos, who played the full game, before goals from Sone Aluko, Abdoulaye Faye and debutant Stephen Quinn ensured three points for the Tigers. Over in Belgium, Gyliano van Velzen and Luke Giverin tasted victory on their debuts for Royal Antwerp. Both started the 2-1 win away at K.S.K. Heist on Sunday with Giverin playing the full 90 and van Velzen being substituted in injury time.

Sir Alex favours English loans Sir Alex has expressed a preference for keeping on-loan players in England as clubs continue to eye temporary deals with United's youngsters. While the window for permanent transfers closed last Friday, loan moves can still be made. United chief executive David Gill admitted last week there could be a couple of exits from Old Trafford on this basis, and the boss has previously spoken about obtaining senior experience for some of the reserves who swept the trophies board in 2011/12. Although farming younger prospects out to Royal Antwerp has proved beneficial in the past - and Luke Giverin and Gyliano van Velzen have just moved out to Belgium - a deal with an overseas club can be a step into the unknown. Federico Macheda had little luck out on loan in his native Italy while Joshua King struggled for game-time at Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany. "Very few of our young players go abroad on loan," explained Sir Alex. "We had Federico Macheda go to Sampdoria and he was only there a week and they sacked the coach. It ended up being a nightmare for him and he never got a game. I think it's better that the ones that go on loan go to the Barclays Premier League or the Championship. By doing that, we can have regular contact and see them every week. We get them watched all the time. That's the process by which we work under." The Reds currently have five players stationed at other English clubs - Fabio (QPR), Reece Brown (Coventry), John Cofie (Sheffield United), Ben Amos (Hull) and Sean McGinty (Oxford).

_______________________________________ 17/09/2012 10:30 - ManUtd.com, Adam Marshall Loans: Fabio injury blow Fabio was substituted due to injury 20 minutes into the 0-0 draw with Chelsea in the London derby at Loftus Road. "Fabio has pulled his hamstring and will be out for a number of weeks," confirmed QPR boss Mark Hughes to the club's official website. "Which is a blow for us." Steve Bruce's 3-5-2 formation worked wonders against Millwall as Hull City ran out 4-1 victors. Ben Amos kept goal with his usual confidence but was beaten by Darius Henderson's consolation header in the second half. John Cofie received praise from strike-partner Nick Blackman despite being replaced on 52 minutes during Sheffield United's 1-1 draw with Bury. Cofie headed a Blackman cross wide in the first half as the pair continue to build up a relationship on the field. "John is a great player," Blackman told the Sheffield Star. "He is up-and-coming. He’s on Manchester United’s books so he’s going to be one hell of a player. It’s still early days but we are working hard." Reece Brown's Coventry were beaten 2-0 at Tranmere - a result which could have a negative impact on caretaker boss Richard Shaw's hopes of taking the manager's job on a permanent basis. The versatile defender did not get off the bench at Prenton Park. A Benjamin Delacourt own goal rescued a point for Royal Antwerp against Mouscron-Peruwelz. Luke Giverin and Gyliano van Velzen both played for the home side. Sean McGinty has returned to Old Trafford after his loan stint at Oxford was cut short.

Cedera lagi... nggak di United nggak di QPR. GWS aja dah Fabio... saingan di United bukan lagi Evra tapi Buttner.

Re: United : Loan Watch 2012/2013
