Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate
Meneer van Gaal akan merasakan no Christmas n New Year holiday, but Boxing Day festive sampe awal Januari tahun depan nih ..
Semoga aja amunisi yg ada cukup untuk rotasi kali ini, no more injury please ... _______________________________ 19/12/2014 - ManUtd.com, James Tuck Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal expects it will be necessary to rotate his squad during the Christmas run of fixtures, even if that will be problematic because of injuries. After Saturday's trip to Aston Villa, the Reds face four games in 10 days, beginning with Newcastle on Boxing Day and ending with the FA Cup tie at Yeovil on 4 January. Van Gaal is new to the Barclays Premier League’s congested schedule at this time of year but says rest and rotation are the only ways to deal with it, provided he has enough players at his disposal. The Dutchman told MUTV: "It [rotation] is probably a solution for that problem, because a lot of matches in so few days is, in my opinion, ridiculous. "That is why I think I have to rotate, but then the players have to be fit and not every player is fit with us." Asked if he had a special programme to manage the load, the boss continued: "Rest, only rest – that is what we shall do. "We have to play these two matches [Newcastle on 26 December and Tottenham on 28 December] and that is normal in*the Premier League. I cannot change that." Van Gaal has already used Under-21s fixtures to give valuable match practice to players who are returning to fitness, notably Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans. But what about when there are no reserve games? "You have to train," he said. "You can simulate the matches but it is more difficult; it takes more time and it is better to play matches in the second team. But also, I give them minutes in the first-team squad in the Premier League." The versatility of several players has been vital to managing the injury absences in the team this season. Antonio Valencia has played across midfield and in defence, while Wayne Rooney featured in midfield against Liverpool. Asked if the captain would take up that deeper role more often in future, van Gaal replied: "It is dependable on how the balance in the team is. I need balance in the team. We have won six times in a row and that is because of the balance, I think. "I don’t know if I shall use him always because it is also dependable on the form of the strikers, because he is a very good striker. "I can use him in different positions and I like that because I like multifunctional players. I normally buy more multifunctional players than specialist." |

Re: Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate

Re: Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate

Re: Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate
Van Gaal explains tactical formation choice
Report by Adam Marshall Louis van Gaal has admitted to MUTV his hand has been forced when it comes to selecting his formation for Manchester United's recent Barclays Premier League matches. The boss has been pleased with the work of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia in wing-back slots but feels the attacking duo are not suited to orthodox defensive roles. With Rafael still to appear after injury, despite being on the bench last weekend, and Luke Shaw sidelined since sustaining ankle ligament damage at Arsenal, there has been a preference for a three-man central defence of late. Young and Valencia have pushed forward to good effect, setting up goals against Aston Villa and Liverpool respectively, but the system could revert to a flat back four when Rafael and Shaw are back fully fit. "Yeah, but as wing-backs and not as full-backs," the manager replied when asked how pleased he has been with Young and Valencia. "Now I am more or less obliged to play with wing-backs because the real full-backs, Shaw and Rafael da Silva, were not fit enough and that is not good. I have to select what I want but now I am forced to select. For a manager, that is not so good." With Newcastle United welcomed to Old Trafford on Boxing Day, the Dutchman is still working out how best to utilise his players when they are all available. Angel Di Maria has been employed on the flanks and in an attacking role since initially shining in a more central position and the Argentinian's adaptability should prove useful in the upcoming games. When asked about Di Maria's best position, van Gaal conceded: "We still have to find that out. It is also [about] the composition of the team, we have to look for the best team also because all of the players were injured so I could not select the team that I want." With the Reds sitting in third place in the table and only being denied a seven-game winning run with the draw at Villa Park last time out, the fact the boss has still to name what he feels is his best XI must be very encouraging for all United fans as 2014 comes to an end.

Re: Van Gaal: No choice but to rotate
Usai mengalahkan Newcastle United 3-1 di Old Trafford, Jumat (26/12/2014), 'Setan Merah' hanya memiliki waktu kosong satu hari. "The FIFA Organising Committee shall fix the dates and venues of the matches, allowing each team a minimum rest period of 48 hours between matches (Komite Pengaturan FIFA berhak mengatur tanggal dan tempat pertandingan, untuk memungkinkan setiap tim mendapatkan waktu istirahat minimal 48 jam dari satu laga ke laga lainnya)," demikian peraturan FIFA yang tertera untuk Piala Dunia Antarklub dan Piala Dunia 2014. |
