Sepertinya sih Tahith Chong yang mungkin menang

VOTE FOR UNDER-23S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Three young Manchester United players are in the frame for the Denzil Haroun trophy, which will be awarded to the Reds' best performer at Under-23 level in 2018/19.

Demi Mitchell won last year's award, pipping Kieran O'Hara and Ethan Hamilton to the prize, and the left-back's successor will be either Tahith Chong, James Garner or Angel Gomes.

Netherlands Under-21 international Chong is the reigning Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year, while Gomes lifted that trophy in 2016/17.

You can vote for your Under-23 Player of the Year now in our official app.

Voting will close at 23:59 BST on Wednesday 8 May.

TAHITH CHONG - 17 APPEARANCES, 6 GOALS*

The winger was effective on both flanks and his early-season form earned him a maiden call-up to the first-team bench for the Champions League home match against Juventus in October.

A goal in the opening day draw at Fulham was followed by a sublime free-kick to break the deadlock at Middlesbrough in September. In addition to some eye-catching displays in the UEFA Youth League, Chong bagged a brace in a 3-0 victory over Sunderland and was looking in confident mood, taking defenders on and showing his skills and acceleration.

He started 2019 in positive fashion with a senior debut in the Emirates FA Cup win over Reading at Old Trafford and followed this up with another goal at Under-23s level, in a home reverse to Fulham. More evidence of his ability to turn it on in European competition came in the impressive 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain that sealed qualification, against the odds, in the Premier League International Cup as he fired home two goals in the opening quarter of an hour.

In March, the 19-year-old made a Premier League bow as a late substitute against Southampton and came on in the most dramatic of circumstances as United knocked PSG's first team out of the Champions League at Parc des Princes, making one aggressive sliding challenge on former United winger Angel Di Maria as the Reds defended stoutly in a lengthy period of stoppage time.

The Curacao-born youngster found the net for Ricky Sbragia's side again in a 5-0 victory over Newcastle United in April, when the team clicked and played some devastating attacking football, before ending the Premier League 2 campaign by earning a penalty in the 3-2 loss to Wolves.

It has certainly been a season to remember for Chong, as he has made his big breakthrough, and he will look to continue his development.

ANGEL GOMES - 16 APPEARANCES, 6 GOALS*

Often captain of Sbragia's side, the clever playmaker was able to regularly show off his ability on the ball. He started the campaign brightly, scoring in each of the first two games against Fulham and Aston Villa, and grabbed the only goal with a cracker in a 1-0 success against Stoke City at Old Trafford at the end of August.

While gaining experience in the UEFA Youth League with Nicky Butt's team, he was never afraid to take on responsibility and provided a cool head from the penalty spot - converting a stoppage-time winner at Young Boys and, in the final Premier League 2 match, cheekily dinking a 'Panenka'-style effort into the Wolves net.

Despite being forced to deal with some physical opponents, who often resorted to fouling somebody who is comfortable in possession and able to turn quickly in tight spaces, Gomes remained a key provider of assists and goals, setting up Mason Greenwood's first Under-23s strike at Wolves before netting in the home loss to Newcastle in November. Another calmly taken penalty at Reading secured three points on the road in the following month.

A glimpse of first-team action under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was provided on Boxing Day when Gomes was a late substitute against Huddersfield Town, and he has been a member of the matchday squad on a number of occasions since the Norwegian took charge.

Regular senior outings remain the goal for somebody who made their United debut as a 16-year-old and he ended the Premier League 2 campaign in tremendous form. A domineering display at St James' Park, as he pulled the strings and toyed with his markers, highlighted his special talents as Newcastle were put to the sword and beaten by five goals on their home patch. More evidence of Gomes' quality was supplied against Wolves as he carved out chance after chance for his team-mates against the league winners.

A clever operator who will be all the better for his experiences at Under-23s level in 2018/19.

JAMES GARNER - 12 APPEARANCES, 0 GOALS*

An all-action midfielder who is very highly regarded within the club, Garner has been with the Under-23s since the start of the season despite being a second-year scholar and still eligible for Neil Ryan's side. He did also feature for the Under-18s and is nominated for the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year as well.

An ability to help dictate the tempo of a game, and pass with authority and precision, is assisted by real leadership qualities as Garner was able to make his mark against older opponents. He scored in the UEFA Youth League triumph over Juventus during a splendid team showing at Under-19s level and he has regularly trained with the first team.

After being on the bench, a moment to savour came when he was handed a debut as an injury-time substitute at Crystal Palace in February and he earned comparisons with Michael Carrick during Solskjaer's post-match press conference at Selhurst Park.

There is certainly some grit to his game as well as the Birkenhead-born teenager makes some meaty challenges and is learning his trade from the best at the Aon Training Complex.

By continuing to represent, and captain, England at youth level, his career remains on a steep upward curve after signing a new contract last summer and he has thrived on being handed extra defensive responsibility in midfield when often being selected alongside more attacking flair players. Performing at a consistently high level in Premier League 2, he is ahead of schedule and handled the rigours of competing in the age group remarkably well.

It is now time to have your say on who collects the trophy on Thursday 9 May.

THREE CONTENDERS FOR OUR UNDER-18S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The next recipient of the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year trophy - awarded to Manchester United's best Under-18 prospect over the course of a season - will be revealed on Thursday night.

James Garner, Mason Greenwood and Dylan Levitt have the opportunity to follow in some famous footsteps as previous winners include Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, Wes Brown, Danny Welbeck and Marcus Rashford.

There is a plaque to mark the winners at the Jimmy Murphy Centre at the Aon Training Complex and one of their names will adorn it soon.

Garner, Greenwood and Levitt have all produced stellar displays for Neil Ryan's Under-18s during the 2018/19 campaign.

They have also broken into Ricky Sbragia's Under-23s line-up and performed in the UEFA Youth League for Nicky Butt's team. James and Mason have, of course, already made their senior debuts under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

You can vote for the Under-18 Player of the Year now in our official app.

Voting will close at 23:59 BST on Wednesday 8 May ahead of the dinner the following night, which is being screened live on the app and MUTV.

JAMES GARNER - 5 APPEARANCES / 1 GOAL*

The midfield pivot spent much of the campaign with the Under-23s (he has been nominated for the Denzil Haroun trophy as well) but also lent his experience to the Under-18s on five occasions in the league and also in the FA Youth Cup. He revisited a position he used to adopt in the younger age groups by operating at centre-back, including in the thrilling third-round success against holders Chelsea.

The boy from Birkenhead played home and away against Liverpool, and scored his only domestic goal of the season in the fixture on Merseyside, by converting a penalty he earned in the 3-1 victory in August.

A calm head when appearing either in the middle of the park or defence, he also shone in the UEFA Youth League as United won our qualifying group for the first time in the competition.

MASON GREENWOOD - 13 APPEARANCES / 15 GOALS*

The striker enjoyed another fabulous year at youth level, earning the top scorer accolade for the second successive campaign. An obvious highlight was the sensational hat-trick, and outstanding individual display, in the 4-3 FA Youth Cup win over Chelsea.

The Yorkshire-born youngster also hit a treble in a league triumph at Blackburn Rovers in September and smashed two free-kicks past Liverpool in the Under-18 Premier League Cup quarter-final. His final run-out for Ryan's boys featured both goals in the 2-1 success at Derby County, although he is still eligible for this level in 2019/20.

That said, Greenwood has already showed his potential in the Under-23s, scoring on his debut at Wolves, and he came off the bench for the first team on three occasions. The 17-year-old was not considered for this award last year due to his schoolboy status but is fully deserving of a place on the shortlist this time around.

DYLAN LEVITT - 14 APPEARANCES / 5 GOALS

The young Welshman has shown progress over the course of the campaign and transferred his midfield skills into the Under-23s towards the end of the season.

A shrewd operator in the middle of the park, he passes the ball positively and managed six assists in the Under-18 Premier League, while also being able to hit the net himself, particularly from the penalty spot. He kept his composure to score one last-minute effort at Everton to collect three valuable points and also earned a draw in the last Manchester derby from 12 yards after netting a brace in the home game against the Blues.

The Bodelwyddan-born prospect wore the captain's armband in the 7-0 win at Sunderland and was clearly one of those pushed on after members of Ricky Sbragia's squad went out on loan in January. He can be well pleased with his work this year and can look forward to cementing a place in the Under-23s in 2019/20, after ending his time in the Academy on a high.

It is now time to have your say on who collects the trophy on Thursday 9 May.

GREENWOOD LANDS YOUNG PLAYER AWARD FOR 2018/19

Mason Greenwood has been named Manchester United's Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year for 2018/19.

The 17-year-old striker has been rewarded for scoring 30 goals across the age groups after shining for the Under-18s, Under-19s and Under-23s.

After making his first-team debut against Paris Saint-Germain, and also getting off the bench against Arsenal and West Ham United, it has been an excellent campaign for the England Under-18 international.

Greenwood finished ahead of fellow contenders James Garner and Welsh midfielder Dylan Levitt, after thousands of the club's supporters voted in our official app.

he centre-forward scored on his Premier League 2 debut at Wolves and rounded off the campaign at that level with a superb free-kick against Newcastle United at St James' Park, followed by a clinical finish in the reverse fixture against Wolves at Leigh Sports Village.

He was the Under-18s' leading marksman for a second successive campaign iand is still eligible to play for Neil Ryan's team in 2019/20.

Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes, two of Greenwood's team-mates in the Under-23s and UEFA Youth League, are the most recent previous recipients of the prestigious award.

Marcus Rashford won it in 2015/16, while Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Wes Brown are all among the big names who claimed the trophy in the past.

WHAT MASON SAID ON STAGE

“I think it’s been an enjoyable season,” the young striker told Dion Dublin. “But I’ve had help from the coaches and my team-mates, so if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be up here tonight.”

Asked how he has produced such lethal form up front, Greenwood continued: “Well I just work hard on finishing after every training session. I just try and score in all the training games, so that helps me and I just try and do it in the games.”

With Marcus Rashford watching on, our award-winner spoke glowingly about his idol: “He is an inspiration for all the Academy. It’s nice to see that someone can make it and we all want to have the same journey that he has.”

So what is next for Mason Greenwood? “Hopefully more chances in the first-team to show what I can do,” he said. “But I am going to carry on working hard until then.”

TAHITH CHONG VOTED UNDER-23S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Tahith Chong has completed a personal awards double by adding the Denzil Haroun Reserve Team Player of the Year award for 2018/19 to the Jimmy Murphy Young Player trophy he won last season.

The 19-year-old pipped fellow nominees Angel Gomes and James Garner to succeed Demi Mitchell as the victor in the Under-23 category at our annual awards dinner.

This has been a breakthrough campaign for the Netherlands Under-21 international winger, playing in three different competitions for the first team after making his senior debut as a substitute in the Emirates FA Cup victory over Reading in January.

At Under-23 level, he was joint-top scorer with Gomes and netted some spectacular strikes, including a brilliant free-kick at Middlesbrough. He hit doubles in wins over Sunderland and, in the Premier League 2 International Cup, Paris Saint-Germain to show the cutting edge he has been looking to add to his game.

The Curacao-born youngster also shone in the UEFA Youth League and was a constant threat with his pace and trickery in wide areas.

Chong becomes the first player since Guiseppe Rossi to scoop the Denzil Haroun trophy the season after landing the Young Player prize - the Italian striker achieved the feat in 2005 and 2006.

Axel Tuanzebe, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, is another player who has won both awards but his successes came two years apart, in 2015 and 2017.

Going further back, famous winners of the Denzil Haroun trophy include Darren Fletcher in 2003 and the club's current Head of Academy, Nicky Butt, who picked up the award in 1994.

WHAT CHONG SAID ON STAGE

“It’s been a good season,” he said to former United striker, Dion Dublin. “Obviously I couldn’t have done it without my team mates, the coaching staff, the physios, everyone just helping to make it a good season for me.”

When asked about his improvement, after winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year last season, Chong said: “I'm just working on every training session, trying to get the most out of them and like I said, the team mates make the training sessions good, so I can't thank them enough.”

With several first team appearances during the campaign, Chongy was level headed about his ambitions for the future. “I'm going to just enjoy the moment and work hard in training and when I get my chance, try and grab it. The most important thing is keep working hard.”

ANDREAS NETS GOAL OF THE SEASON PRIZE

Andreas Pereira’s stunning strike against Southampton has been declared Manchester United’s Goal of the Season for 2018/19.

The Brazil international netted his first Premier League goal for the Reds in some style during our 3-2 win over the Saints at Old Trafford on 2 March.

With 52 minutes on the clock and the Reds trailing 1-0, the 23-year-old curled in a spectacular effort from outside the box in front of the Stretford End, after receiving the ball from Diogo Dalot.

The sublime strike was the overwhelming winner in our poll, after thousands of fans voted exclusively in the official app.

The other goals which featured in the top five were Juan Mata’s free-kick against Juventus, Marcus Rashford’s wonderful Wembley winner against Tottenham Hotspur and Anthony Martial’s solo efforts against Cardiff City and Fulham respectively.

Andreas’s award-winning effort was only the second goal the midfielder has netted for the Reds, with his other coming in a 3-0 League Cup win over Ipswich Town back in 2015.

Asked how it felt to collect the trophy, Andreas said: “It’s very heavy!

”I want to say thanks to all my team-mates, the staff who helped me, the fans who voted for me, so I’m very happy to win this and play for a great club like this and win a trophy. I’m very happy.“

Reflecting further on the goal, the Brazilian continued: “As soon as I struck the ball, to be fair I didn’t see it going in because I used the defender in front of me, but as soon as the crowd went crazy I knew it was in the back of the net.”

ZELEM IS UNITED WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Katie Zelem has won the Manchester United Women’s Player of the Year award after a successful inaugural campaign for Casey Stoney's team.

The midfielder was influential throughout the season and was selected by her team-mates for a three-strong shortlist alongside Millie Turner and Leah Galton.

It was a close battle to determine the winner, which was decided by thousands of fans voting in our poll in the official app.

Zelem eventually emerged as the victor to claim the trophy, with Turner coming a close second and Galton finishing third.

HOW ZELEM WON IT

Katie has been a regular and inspirational presence at the heart of midfield this season, netting 11 goals so far. She could add to her tally in our final league game against Lewes on Saturday, after which the players will lift the FA Women’s Championship trophy.

The former Juventus midfielder has been a key figure in the engine room as Stoney’s side have gained promotion to the Women’s Super League, while also reaching the Continental Tyres League Cup semi-finals and SSE Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals.

Throughout the campaign, the 23-year-old from Oldham has been a set-piece specialist, with her corners and free-kicks more often than not leading to goals.

A standout goal from Katie was her stunning free-kick against Everton in the Continental Tyres League Cup, which arrowed into the top corner to give the Reds a 3-0 lead against the Toffees. This strike was nominated for United's Goal of the Month for December.

Zelem was also named the FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month for March after playing a starring role during a key month for United Women.

WHAT KATIE THOUGHT...

“It’s amazing,” the midfielder said. “It makes it even more special that it’s the first ever award. I couldn’t have asked much more from the first season to be honest. Every one of the girls has played a part, whether it be on the pitch or off the pitch. Likewise with the staff. Casey’s got us really close together and I think you can see that by the performances on the pitch.”

After leaving United, Katie had spells at Liverpool and Juventus but returned in the summer when the Women's team was founded. “I was so excited to be honest. It was always in my plans whether it was five years away, 10 years away. I did always hope to come back to Manchester United. It happened much sooner than I expected and I’m so glad it did and hopefully I can stay here for a while.”

With the Reds set to face the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in next year's Women's Super League, Katie is excited about the challenges that lie ahead. “I’m so excited, to be honest. For me it’s where we deserve to be, testing ourselves against the best and we can see where we’re at and make a plan from there.”

SHAW WINS SIR MATT BUSBY PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Luke Shaw has been crowned the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for 2018/19, adding to his Players’ Player of the Year award success.

The defender has won the coveted sculpture of Sir Matt for the first time in his United career at the end of his fifth campaign as a Red. Thousands of fans voted in the official app and Shaw came out on top. Victor Lindelof was second in the voting and Paul Pogba came third.

Luke follows in the footsteps of David De Gea, who has also won both awards in three of the last four seasons – including last season. Speaking about his double success, Shaw said on stage: “It’s obviously nice for me, but I’d rather win no [individual] trophies and have a better season as a team. We need to move on and focus now on next season and what’s to come.

“Ole has done an amazing job and of course we’ve had ups and downs but he’s obviously looking forward to getting us back in pre-season and getting his proper work done for next season. We’re all looking forward to starting fresh next season with him as the manager.”

WHY SHAW WON IT

Although it has been a difficult season overall for the Reds, Luke has been a standout performer and is undoubtedly a worthy winner of the award chosen by the fans.

He has won our Player of the Month award on three occasions – in August, September and March – in a campaign in which he’s made 40 appearances in all competitions ahead of this weekend's closing fixture against Cardiff City. That’s the highest tally he’s achieved in a single season in a United shirt to date, despite experiencing injury worries and being suspended for a period.

The 23-year-old was also voted our Man of the Match by fans in our goalless draw against Liverpool in February and 2-1 win over Watford in March.

Of course, Luke experienced a memorable start to 2018/19, scoring his first career goal in our opening game of the campaign – which proved to be the winner against Leicester City.

He has also set up four other goals for his team-mates: Marcus Rashford’s fine finishes against West Ham and Watford, Romelu Lukaku’s opening effort at Crystal Palace and Juan Mata’s strike against Chelsea.

Back in October, Luke signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until June 2023, with the option to extend for a further year.

It’s arguably been his most consistent campaign since recovering from the horrific leg break he suffered against PSV Eindhoven in September 2015, and his impressive club form earned him a recall to the England squad.

After coming off stage, Shaw told MUTV presenters Andy Goldstein and Helen Evans: “It’s special to win the [Sir Matt Busby] award, especially as it comes from the fans.

“The fans have stuck by me through hard times and they’ve always believed in me and it’s nice to see that they still do now, voting for me to win the trophy.

“I’m proud to win both the awards tonight, but there’s much more to come from me personally. I really believe that.”

SOLSKJAER'S AWARDS-NIGHT INTERVIEW

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hopeful for the future when when he spoke to MUTV at Manchester United's Player of the Year awards night.

Solskjaer, reflecting on his first half-season as United manager, discussed the development of the youngsters in the squad, how he has found his first six months in charge at Old Trafford and looked ahead to next season's challenges.

Does it feel a bit weird that you were here as a player and now you’re the main man?

“Yeah, it does feel weird to have this job, because it’s such a great honour to be here. You’ve been a player, you’ve been a reserve-team coach, you've been a supporter now for so many years and then suddenly when Ed [Woodward] gave me a call I thought, 'This is going to be for a few months, I’m going to enjoy it' but now I’m here and it’s fantastic.”

From being the reserves' manager, you know it's an important night tonight, particularly for the young players coming through. For some of them to get the awards on offer tonight, it’s so exciting...

“Of course it is. You always talk about teams, but tonight it’s about celebrating the individuals and there’s always been outstanding talent coming through. I’m sure, whoever wins the youth trophies, we’ll see them in the first team. Hopefully some of them will be on show on Sunday.”

At Manchester United we pride ourselves on the youth policy here. You go back tens of years and we’ve always had a youth player in the starting XI or on the bench. Is that something you want to keep progressing with next season?

“I love young players who want to improve and have no fear whatsoever and I’ve looked at the Reserves and Under-18s this year and of course there are talents there that will stay at this club for so many years. You’ve got Rashy [Marcus Rashford], Jesse [Lingard] now, Scott [McTominay], you don’t think about Paul [Pogba] as an academy product, but he was here when he was 16, so I’m sure we’ll carry on that tradition and it’s nice to give them the opportunity to show what they can do, because if you don’t give them the chance how can they prove it? So, there’ll be chances.”

You’ve had six months in the job. Has that gone fast for you?

“Very quick. It’s been a roller coaster. Of course we had a fantastic start. Everyone just enjoyed themselves, because we started winning games. That’s human beings - when you win games, you’re confident, you smile, you enjoy yourself. Suddenly we got a few injuries and it’s been ups and downs for the last two months, but that’s football. That’s human beings. That’s a team. It’s not like [playing] Football Manager. You’ve got to deal with different stuff outside of football as well. So, there’s been highs and lows, but I’ve enjoyed it. It’s a great challenge. I haven’t gone to bed one night worrying about what’s going to happen, because I love coming in. The boys are fantastic and have a good attitude.”

Finally, it must be exciting knowing you’re the man responsible for building United for the future. That must be great for you?

“It’s a great challenge, but it’s a great responsibility as well, because this club is huge and the media and everyone’s criticising us as soon as they’ve got a chance. We’ve just got to stick together, know that we’ve been through tough and difficult periods before. We will come through it again as a team. We’ve got to do it together. We’ve got to recruit smart, we’ve got to keep blooding the youngsters and we’ll be fine.”
