Default [2015/16] United Player and Goal of the Month

Dibuat aja deh meski telat, daripada tidak ada arsipnya, buat nampung selama sisa musim ini
Opa sih telat comeback

Jesse Lingard, Memphis Depay and Marcus Rashford are the three nominees for Manchester United's new Player of the Month award following their good form in February.

JESSE LINGARD
Key stats:
7 appearances, 3 goals
Summary: The Academy graduate began February by scoring the first goal in United's convincing 3-0 win over Stoke City, with a terrific stooping header from Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s excellent cross. He followed that up by netting a superb individual opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the scene of an entertaining 1-1 draw, before converting again in the 3-0 Emirates FA Cup win at Shrewsbury Town. Notably, the 23-year-old also notched a fine assist with a left-footed cross that led to fellow youth-team product Marcus Rashford’s second goal in Sunday's 3-2 victory over Arsenal.
Jesse said: “The boss has said that I'm getting back to my form now from what I had before my injury and I need to keep kicking on.” (7 February)

MEMPHIS DEPAY
Key stats:
7 appearances, 2 goals
Summary: Memphis enjoyed a fine return to form in February and the Dutchman’s confidence unquestionably increased from game to game. He began the month as a substitute against Chelsea and was criticised in some quarters for his role in Diego Costa's equaliser, after gifting possession to the Blues in the build-up. But he soldiered on to become a certain starter and scored an important away goal at FC Midtjylland, before producing a Man-of-the-Match performance in the home leg at Old Trafford. On that night, he gave the visitors' right-back Romer a torrid time from start to finish, prompting his opponent to admit he'd “never been so close to crying after a match”.
Memphis said: “Working with Giggs makes me even hungrier on the training ground, it makes me want to try new things. I ask him for advice because he's been there; he knows how to read the circumstances, how to handle situations. It is really inspiring and helpful.” (24 February)

MARCUS RASHFORD
Key stats:
2 appearances, 4 goals
Summary: Yes, he only made two appearances in February’s seven fixtures, but the Academy graduate’s influence on the must-win games against Midtjylland and Arsenal was undeniable. The 18-year-old made an unexpected debut against the Danes as a late replacement for the injured Anthony Martial and impressively repaid the manager’s faith with a sensational brace in a 5-1 win. He retained his starting berth against the Gunners and wowed fans by again scoring twice, this time in as many minutes - firstly with an instinctive finish and then with a deft header past Petr Cech. Rashford also notched an assist for Ander Herrera and ran away with our Man-of-the-Match poll with 82 per cent of votes cast on Twitter.
Rashford said: “It was a shock when I played in midweek, because [Anthony] Martial was meant to be starting. But that maybe benefited me because I wasn’t thinking about the game too much.” (28 February)

Vote for United's Goal of the Month

The poll for Manchester United’s Goal of the Month award for February is now open, so have your say on which of our eight-strong shortlist should win.

Anthony Martial has two nominations: the delightful curled finish at the end of a flowing team move against Stoke City and his calm dink from a narrow angle at Sunderland.

Marcus Rashford has enjoyed a stunning introduction to first-team football and the 18-year-old also has a pair of entries: the composed half-volley on his debut against Midtjylland and deft header in the win over Arsenal. Jesse Lingard and Memphis are the other first-teamers in contention, the former for his superb turn and finish at Chelsea and the latter for his accurate low drive to round off the 5-1 victory over Midtjylland.

And two efforts scored at Under-21 level complete the list: Will Keane’s wonderful chip against Norwich City at Old Trafford – the fourth goal of his amazing quintuple in that game – and Joe Rothwell’s measured winner in the mini-derby against Manchester City.

Vote for United’s Goal of the Month. The poll closes at 12:00 GMT on Friday 4 March and the winner will be announced that evening.

Default Re: [2015/16] United Player and Goal of the Month

Congratulations Rashford

Rashford is United's Player of the Month

Marcus Rashford has been voted Manchester United’s Player of the Month for February after scoring two influential braces against Midtjylland and Arsenal in his first senior outings.

The 18-year-old Academy graduate earned 56 per cent of fan votes that were cast on ManUtd.com and the club’s official Twitter account @ManUtd, which was enough to claim the award ahead of his fellow nominees Memphis Depay (31 per cent) and Jesse Lingard (13 per cent).

Although Rashford only played in two of United’s seven fixtures in February, his impact on those must-win games in the Europa League and Barclays Premier League was unquestionable. Without his four goals (and one assist) the Reds could be out of Europe and further away from a top four finish.

The striker’s emergence has also provided a boost for the rest of the dressing room, as Michael Carrick admitted earlier this week when reflecting on the dramatic 3-2 win over Arsenal.

“He's really down to earth,” the vice-captain explained. “He's quite quiet at the moment, but he might come out of his shell after this! I was talking to him in the changing room and he was talking about the atmosphere, what it means to him and seeing the fans respond, and all that type of thing.

“It's a breath of fresh air, you know, and something that you take for granted in many ways, so to see what it means to the young lads and how they responded, is incredible really.”

Morgan Schneiderlin has also paid tribute to United’s latest Player of the Month and tipped the youngster for a bright future at the club. “He didn’t train many times with us, but when he did we could see straight away he had quality,” Morgan revealed earlier this week.

“Against Midtjylland he showed it, and he showed it again on Sunday. I hope he continues like that, because he is an exciting prospect for the football club.”

Rashford’s emergence came as a result of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Will Keane all being out injured, prompting his promotion from the youth ranks at the 11th hour. Club legend Paddy Crerand has watched his progress within the Academy and has always been confident in his ability.

“I’ve known about Marcus for years from watching the Academy games and he’s always stood out like a sore thumb, for both his ability and physique. His name has rightly been splashed across the headlines of late because it’s so rare to score twice on your debut for this club.”

Congratulations Lingard !

Lingard v Chelsea is voted Goal of the Month

Jesse Lingard has won Manchester United's Goal of the Month award for the second time after fans voted for his superb shot on the turn against Chelsea in February.

Lingard's brilliant opener in the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge was one of eight goals on our shortlist from the first team, Under-21s and Under-18s and it topped the poll with 34 per cent of the votes.

The runner-up was Anthony Martial's exquisite curled finish in the home win over Stoke City (23 per cent) while Will Keane's sublime chip for the Under-21s against Norwich City - the fourth of five goals he scored in the game - was ranked February's third best strike (20 per cent). The remainder of our shortlist shared the other 23 per cent of the votes.

Lingard previously won United's Goal of the Month award in November, with his stunning first effort for the senior team in the 2-0 home win over this Sunday's opponents West Bromwich Albion.

VOTE FOR MARCH'S PLAYER OF THE MONTH

David De Gea, Chris Smalling and Anthony Martial are the three nominees for Manchester United's Player of the Month award in March.

DAVID DE GEA (6 appearances, 2 clean sheets)
An ever-present in goal this month, the keeper continued to warrant his world-class status with his consistently excellent form. The stand-out display clearly came at Anfield during the Europa League defeat to Liverpool when he pulled off a number of stunning saves. A key stop from West Ham's Michail Antonio in the closing stages of the draw at Old Trafford kept United in the FA Cup and he repelled Odion Ighalo to good effect in the league victory over Watford.

CHRIS SMALLING (5 appearances, 0 goals)
The defensive powerhouse maintained his high standards this term after missing the Watford game due to injury. He helped keep awkward opponent Andy Carroll in check during the FA Cup tie with West Ham and was voted Man of the Match for his accomplished display during the Manchester derby. After being sent off in the fixture last season, he ensured it was a much happier visit to the Etihad Stadium in 2016 by defending stoutly throughout, including making a fine tackle on City danger man Sergio Aguero in stoppage time.

ANTHONY MARTIAL (6 appearances, 2 goals)
Two goals have been enough to ensure the France international was United's top scorer this month but he has contributed far more in general play. Always a threat with his pace and trickery out wide, the 20-year-old supplied illuminating moments of magic in each of March's games. After earning a penalty when being fouled by Nathaniel Clyne, he notched his first spot-kick for the club in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool and also struck the vital equaliser against West Ham in the FA Cup.

VIDEO: VOTE FOR UNITED'S GOAL OF THE MONTH

There are six strikes to choose from in Manchester United’s Goal of the Month shortlist for March – vote now to have your say on which one should win.

Juan Mata's late free-kick winner against Watford is up for the award, as is Adnan Januzaj's perfectly-placed shot for the Reds' Reserves against Oldham in the Manchester Senior Cup.

James Weir makes the cut for his close-range finish against Liverpool after some sharp one-touch interplay by Warren Joyce's side, while the Under-18s are represented on the list by Charlie Scott, who produced an improvised flick against Brighton.

Rounding off this month's nominations are Anthony Martial's equaliser from a tight angle in the Emirates FA Cup tie against West Ham United and Marcus Rashford's incisive winner in the Manchester derby.

The poll closes at 12:00 BST on Friday 1 April and the winner will be announced that evening.
